I became a Davenport customer when they bought Abercrombie. I am supposed to be on their "auto" list, meaning they are supposed to keep my LP tank full. But they don't, always. My tank was low a week ago, so I asked for a refill. They said they would send a truck this week. Didn't happen. And now the pressure is too low to run my furnace. I think they're too successful to bother with residential customers. read more

I recognize leaving a review means not much. It may help the next one seeking service from a dishonest provider. I have had service with the company way before it was Davenport. I have been told so many inconsistencies, within the process of ordering, about how their company operates, I will now look for another provider. I feel terrible for the senior population that just "goes along", when I feel definite, there is dishonesty within the company. I asked my son, how do you train an employee to lie? He said you threaten then with their job. Guess that is what is going on within this company. When I expressed my concerns about these inconsistent examples, the Team Lead "Aaron" had no reply. Except to imply that I the customer was WRONG. I might have to pay 25 cents more per gallon, but to hopefully have a company I can trust is invaluable.!!!! Sad, and it doesn't seem I am alone. Look at other reviews (wish I had before my last order) I have delt with them on a provider of service level (Provided their DOT physicals) and now on a customer level. Poor all the way around. Aaron, I wasn't looking for an additional .05 cents off per gallon, I was looking for transparency from your company. Learn how to know the difference, or are you being threaten with your job if you don't lie to a long standing customer? Rant over. i would give them 0 stars if i could. they would lie to your face and get you sign papers and once it signed, they would not fulfil any promises given to you. and would not take action against any complains. very unprofessional company and would not recommend to do business with them. read more

I give them zero stars. The first time I got fuel from them I had to get 150 gallons or they not deliver it. I live 3 miles from the business. This time I ordered 150 gallons and my husband went out to get bill from the driver of the truck Driver said the tank only held 115 gallon so take bill to office to get it adjusted. So I called office and talked to one of the women there and told them I ordered 150 but driver said it was 115. They said they adjust it and I pay only for what I got. Me and husband go to office to pay then they say I have pay for 150 gallons. No one in office say they talked with me. Then they had driver call me and say my husband misunderstood what he said. So we going pay and never use them again. I hope they enjoy the extra 110.00 the ripped from us. read more

I have been with Davenport Energy for over 20 years. I called and asked for someone to light pilot light on gas logs, I couldn't get it lit. I was told it would be December 4th, that would be 2 full weeks. Its now November 22. I explained it is my only alternative for heat and my power goes out frequently. They could have not cared less. I bought my propane tank from Abercrombie and was guaranteed $.20 off per gallon for buying my tank from them. When Davenport took over Abercrombie they said they would honor all the services and warranty's from Abercrombie. When I ordered propane from them I was charged 30 to 40 cents more per gallon than 3 other retailers in this area and no discount for owning my own tank. Time to look elsewhere for my propane and heating oil I think. read more

Davenport Energy is a rip off. They charge a rental fee for their propane tank, then when you stop using them, they charge you $85.00 to pick up their tank. Francis Oil and Propane in Brookneal is a much cheaper company to use. I save .55 cent per gallon on propane. The customer service is terrible with Davenport Energy. read more

My elderly mother and I paid $75 per year to rent a tank because I expected Davenport to maintain their equipment. However when their equipment proved to be defective and leaked gas, they made us pay for the loss (which was well over $100 - approximately a half tank of gas). When my motherquestioned their representative about this, Davenport stated that they would be sure to treat us fairly. But they have done nothing to correct their mistake, and I still feel like we were cheated out of a half tank of gas. I'm even suspicious that they may intentionally provide defective equipment in hopes that something like this will enable them to sell more gas. read more

Davenport Energy cut my gas off because of a fault within the company. I told them to come pick up the tank and they did; however, it had 54 gallons of gas in it and they will not refund my money!!! read more
