The office staff was very friendly and the office itself was spotless. The nurse was also very friendly and able to answer a few questions. I met with the Dr and everything went downhill from there. I answered a few of her questions about my son and when asked if I had any questions myself, I said I did. My first question was met with an incredibly condescending answer and honestly medical advice that no one within my circle of parent friends/family has ever heard before. The Dr made me feel judged choices I've made as a parent and be littled my exclusively pumping journey for my son. (If you know, you know and I will not be made to feel less than for pumping vs nursing.) Coming in with a 6 month old, there should have been a conversation of hey, what did your previous provider share with you instead of making point blank accusitory statements. I explained that once my baby got her social security number Champ Va would cover all expenses but it would take about 3 months to get it all squared away. She got the info she needed from me and set up the visit. Once we got in this morning the front admin was Amazing , the niece that took the vitals was very sweet and knowledgeable. Poor thing got a surprise from my baby but she took it like a champ and laughed it away. When the doctor walked in she explained in detail her services and who she was associated with. She asked all the right questions and answered ours. I can't say how happy I felt with the care she took with our baby girl. There is no communication about delays, or follow-up care. It honestly felt like customer service is an after -thought, if considered at all. My experience has been absolutely wonderful and if you are looking for an integrative pediatrician, I truly believe you will not find anything better than this practice. Staff - I adore all of the staff at CIPC. Dr.C was incredibly intelligent and kind. Debi and Gail, the NPs are super sweet and take time to explain everything. Mel, Wendy, and the other nurses are a wealth of knowledge and remember patients on a first name basis! Ear infections - I want to highlight this because its so significant to me. CIPC rarely ever prescribes antibiotics for ear infections. You know why? Because most ear infections can be solved by a quick chiropractic adjustment to drain the tubes. When my oldest son, 4 months at the time, presented with redness and fluid in his ears, our previous pediatrician gave him a dose of antibiotics. When that didn't solve it, they wanted to give him ANOTHER dose. Nope, moved over to CIPC and after one look, then sent us to an integrative chiropractor. Within a week, he was perfectly healed! We now go proactively once a month to get both of my kids ears adjusted and neither of them have ever had an ear infection! We started full time as patients after that. Service - the service in my opinion is the best of the best. Every appt is 30-60 minutes long! Most ped offices give you 10-15 minutes tops, so this is unique. They take time to hear your concerns, address them, and solve medical problems by getting to the root cause of the issue instead of just writing a prescription to mask symptoms of underlying disease. They are always available - my youngest son (6 months) is currently sick and I've called nearly every day to speak to a nurse. They always take my call, spend time on the phone with me to hear my concerns, and help me out with either an appt or OTC recommendations. This practice is more boutique-style, so there is a $100/month charge for your children to be a patient there. But to me, it's 10000% worth every penny. Vaccines - this may or may not be important to you, but I love that they start their *optional* vaccine schedule at 6 months instead of 2 months. This gives time for the gut micro biome to become more established before starting vaccines and the detox process. Additionally, they prefer to vaccination when your child is healthy. When my oldest was 9 months old, he was due for a vaccine, but when I brought him in, he had a mild temperature and a little cold. It was advised we wait until he is 100% healthy before giving him the vaccine - amazing. All other ped offices would have given it to him anyways, potentially making him feel worse. We came back 3 weeks later when he was healthy and it was a quick in and out 10 min appt for the shot. I LOVE CIPC. I started at another very popular ped office but was discouraged when they kept prescribing my son antibiotics and medicines for seemingly minor issues. My two boys (toddler and 6m old) have never had to be on any antibiotics or prescription meds since joining CIPC. Every ailment has been solved with a natural, integrative approach and for that, I'm eternally grateful.
