I have NEVER given a 5* review to a hospital and I have been there and done that! But well deserve…read moredespite a few nuances. I am writing this review with the intention to follow-up with executive management on a very important issue that should be addressed in caring for elderly/disabled/autoimmune compromised patients. Let me make it clear that our national health system as a whole has yet to recognize the difficulties experienced by this population when admitted into a hospital setting and is fixed and grounded on predated standards and to recognize that "one size does not fit all." So, all and in all, this precursory review goes to staff and NOT policies, logistics and procedures overall. "For individuals with disabilities, hospitals must comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), ensuring full and equal access to their facilities and programs. This includes making communication easily understood, ensuring physical accessibility, ..................and providing reasonable modifications of policies, practices, and procedures." From experience, and even when physicians determine these patients such as me need to be admitted to the hospital, we often find ourselves waiting for hours in pain and discomfort, not getting enough food or water, not moving around, not being helped to the bathroom, and not getting the kind of care doctors deem necessary. I had not eten from around 11:a.m. till Saturday around 9:00 a.m. I have major gastro issues. In my situation, I requested ADA accommodation at the onset on arrival at the ER. Not a single staff member it was to my surprise, was familiar with the term ADA or what accommodation entailed (providing reasonable modifications of policies, practices and procedurs). Not the lead nurse/charge nurse, doctor, no one! But I pulled it up on my phone so as to familiarize staff with what the law states and what I was asking for, none of which was out of the norm for my situation. Thanks to Ms. ShirleyAnn (RN) and the room nurse who last attended to me. The attending ER physician was exceptional. I am so sorry, some names escape me. I am a hard draw, so I had a few extra sticks. The first IV placed did not work.......nurse never realized right away. Second IV had to be placed. Only complaint I have on the actual ER floor was that buzzers for assistance were not being responded to. I had to actually call 3x to get the finished IV thing removed as blood was now pooling in it. That scared me, might not scare anyone else, but I had never experienced that. After several hours, I was transported to a room where I realized I would share with another patient a few feet from me. I explained to the nurse and lead nurse my situation and the accommodation request at the ER. They also were unaware and never heard of the term ADA Reasonable Accommodation (a practice across all businesses including hotels, housing, almost every aspect of life where individuals come in contact with service). Both were very kind, understanding and immediately worked diligently to move me to a room that was not shared and for that I am grateful and thankful. The transfer to another area resulted in a short-lived relationship with the initial staff and the new staff were excellent. My attending physician on 3rd floor exceptional. The morning (Saturday) staff was exceptional, professional, kind, understanding. I want to particularly ask that Nurse Chris be recognized for the best performance I have experienced in a hospital setting. Also, Patient Assistance lady s well. Kudos. Anyhow, too many meds at the same time for me with gastro has made be not too well. AS an advocate I am fully aware that the healthcare system in the U.S. is currently facing significant challenges in providing adequate care for elderly and disabled patients. A lack of training among healthcare providers and a bias towards treating disabled patients have led to a substandard level of care. This was not so here. Food gets a fail as correct orders never came. Fix that and the ADA issue and you're magnificent.

Once admitted into the hospital, all those nurses and medics were also extremely kind, attentive and treated family member with respect. The hospital is clean unlike some other hospitals I have been to in this county. I'm not sure why so many negative reviews. We have been to this hospital several times and have had nothing but a pleasant experience.

It has been at least two years since I've been back at AdventHealth Celebration as a staff member,…read moreand honestly, it still feels just as impressive as I remember. The campus is incredibly spacious -- almost too spacious sometimes because it's so easy to get lost! The architecture and overall layout are beautiful, and you can really tell a lot of thought went into creating a welcoming environment. They're currently expanding and building another tower, which is honestly mind-blowing to see. Being so close to Disney, you can feel that "magical" atmosphere they're trying to create for patients, families, and staff alike. The staff are great, and the gift shop is always a nice stop. There's a café and a cafeteria -- the food is pretty typical hospital food, so I wouldn't expect a five-star chef experience. It can be a bit pricey, and while it's decent, it could definitely be a little better -- but that's pretty common for most hospitals. I truly enjoyed my time working there, even though it was brief, and I still enjoy visiting. One thing that always gets me is how easy it is to get lost, especially around the different "neighborhoods" -- I swear I'm always wandering around Neighborhood C trying to figure out where I'm going. On the plus side, the gym is phenomenal -- huge, well-equipped, and such a great resource for both patients and staff. Overall, it's a beautiful facility with great energy, amazing growth, and a unique atmosphere that makes every visit memorable.

Our experience at AdventHealth Celebration was extremely disappointing and honestly frightening…read more From the moment we arrived, the level of care and professionalism was concerning. The EKG technician appeared unsure of what he was doing, which is especially alarming when a patient is there for heart-related issues. The triage nurse at check-in was rude, inappropriate, and spoke in a very unprofessional manner. It immediately made us feel uncomfortable and not taken seriously. Throughout our time waiting, staff members were openly gossiping and appeared disorganized. There was even an issue with a transporter that staff discussed loudly in front of patients, turning it into a public scene rather than handling it professionally. It did not feel like a controlled or well-managed medical environment. My husband was there for heart problems and a high fever. We waited over two hours just to get a room. During that time, he was not given Tylenol or anything for his severe headache, nor was he placed on a heart monitor despite having a history of heart issues. That was deeply concerning. Once we were finally taken back, the nurse who assisted us was helpful and compassionate. She informed us about a fast-acting medication option for fever. However, when I asked the doctor about it, his response was shockingly unprofessional. He stated that he would "prescribe what he wants and that's just how it's going to go." The dismissive and rude tone was unacceptable. Overall, we felt that patient care was not the priority. The lack of urgency, professionalism, and empathy was overwhelming. We will not be returning and would not recommend this facility based on our experience.

I came in dizzy and told them and security immediately got me a wheelchair and they rushed me right In (I was severely dehydrated). I was put into a room with no wait at all. The designs, decor and ambiance of this place and the room are so relaxing and I was shocked because as someone who hates hospitals or urgent cares I felt safe and relaxed here. The nurses and doctors were great! They all listened to me, heard me, helped me, were understanding when they knew I was there far away from home and felt alone while being sick and needed help. They did indeed take my state insurance which was perfect. They did give me a beautiful room- that has a light setting, a huge tv and will play calming music- it makes for a very nice stay. You don't feel like you're trapped in an ER with loud noises and screaming patients. You didn't get that here- you simply got quiet and the care you needed. This place is extremely clean! And I would 1000% recommend!

While on a family trip to Disney World, my 75 year old mom slipped and fell on a wet spot in the…read morehotel where our cooler had leaked, and broke her arm. We researched emergency rooms and AdventHeath at Flamingo Crossing had very high ratings. She was upset, in pain, and crying, so we rushed her to the ER. It wasn't the closest, but it was the most positively reviewed - and I wanted the best for my mom since she was so scared and hurting. As soon as we pulled up in the rental car, an employee came dashing out with a wheelchair, ready to help. They took her back while my hubby and I filled out paperwork and the security forms. This is a very safe and secure facility: they photograph everyone who comes in and they also check I.D. This made me feel very safe, especially since it was around 11 pm at night. I went back to check on my mom and I was blown away with how nice the exam room was! They even had mood lighting and music, and it was Disney themed. Periodically, Ariel and Flounder would "swim" by on the wall. This calmed her a lot, and I could see it really helping children who found themselves in an ER. It did take a while for mom to get seen, but the quality of doctors was excellent. Most of them were quite young, but they didn't seem inexperienced. After a couple of hours, then took her out for x-rays. The X-ray room was great, too! It had magical "twinkling" stars on the ceiling, and a teddy bear to just bring joy. Again, this would be excellent for kids. As I was talking to one of the nurses, he told me that everyone on staff must attend and graduate a Disney class in customer service. It was almost like the staff was picked from cast members, they were SO GOOD. Overall, we were in the ER for around 4.5 hours, leaving around 3 am. It did take a while, but I feel like my mom got excellent care. They gave her a sling and pain meds, which they called in and we had filled at the Publix pharmacy right by our hotel. The staff made it as easy as they could in what was a very unfortunate situation. Nobody wants to get hurt on vacation, but this ER really, really helped make a bad situation much better. Highly recommended.
