Not sure if this is the norm or just the few times I've been. No biggie! The staff that I've encountered hasn't been all that nice. Some will look you dead in the face and not say a word. That thought is very easy to have because my experience has been great at all Publix stores, and they are branching out further north. I personally think they have better customer service than Wegmans and definitely have better fried chicken (Mardi Gras wings) and sandwiches than many grocery stores. What I like is their commitment to cleanliness and consistency across their chain. It reminds me of HEB in that you do not see employees just standing around. The people who work there are always busy but never so busy that they do not take the time to ask if you need help. There is no issue of trying to pretend they do not see customers or an issue of constantly on their phones.

After standing at the sandwich for 10 min while the person behind the counter was having a conversation with a management comparing note on who had the most memorable upbringing, I was finally acknowledged. The lady behind the counter asked " you want a sandwich "? Before I could reply the other person came back to ask another question about their previous conversation. At this point my child and I decided to leave. We exited receiving the same greeting as we entered,NONE. I will definitely continue to patronize Publix, however this was my first and last time going to this particular location.

Their facilities are clean and well organized, which makes it a pleasant shopping experience. They also have mini sections within the store that specializes in a certain area like a bakery, seafood, meats, deli, and even a small bar with an area to lounge out! Pretty awesome. Their customer service has always been top notch, super friendly attitude towards their shoppers. I personally enjoy their bakery goods; recommend the cinnamon buns. They usually have it for $7.99 and just pop it in the microwave for 20 seconds and it's so good! The one thing I'm not a fan of is their sushi selection. They got a small section of daily made sushi, but they can do better with the variety and selection choices. Overall, fun and thriving place to shop your groceries. I love my mother and father in law, but their coffee is clear enough to see through. I glanced around. Hmm. Lots of interesting little bottles of juice. That's kinda neat. Another glance. A beautiful display of flowers and square mylar balloons. I love square mylar balloons. Alright, okay. We ventured further. Huh. Coffee beans with the type and flavor handwritten on the bags. That's kind of endearing. A local shopper told us the "Bourbon Pecan Torte" flavor was her favorite. (She pronounced it PEE-can, which was a treat. If I had a penny for each time someone corrected me with pah-CAHN, I could summer in Newport.) We decided on the pecan and a second bag of eggnog flavor. We ground the beans in the store. How quaint! As we headed toward the dairy section, I noticed their meat and seafood looked rather nice. There were people making sausage. Actual, real, hand ground sausage in its own area. I refused to say it outloud, but in my head, I thought, "That's the way to do it." We moved on and retrieved a bottle of Stōk refrigerated coffee and a container of half & half. You can never have too much coffee. This place ain't so bad. It was when we were headed to the register that I accidentally let out a squeal. Displayed in all its glory was a tin of the Royal Dansk, limited edition, winter cookie collection...as rare as a Fabergé brooch. I walked into Lowes Foods with a chip on my shoulder. Good selection and decent deals on sale items. Asked a nice employee where the "Home Chef" food items were and he politely took me right to them! Ambiance was pleasant and the music playing in the background was decent and not too loud. Be aware of the Checkout Area: MOST of the checkout area is SELF checkout. When we checked out around 12:45pm (on Sunday) there were only TWO of the FIVE registers open, that are staffed by employees. The other 20 registers are SELF CHECKOUT! (Hence I awarded only 4 stars) Will be back. Been here a few times and it is my choice also for any Kroger in the area.
