Dave's is an outstanding business that always places customer service first. I shop there weekly and never buy meat anywhere else. The chicken is delicious and you can taste the difference in quality in the beef, pork and other meats. My favorite thing about Dave's is their willingness to cut a smaller portion for roasts and also if there is not a cut on display they offer to get what you request. The freezer wrapping is just the finishing touch on the reason Dave's shines when compared to other stores in the area. I am glad I have a wonderful butcher close to home that for as long as I can remember continues to provide the best meat. It sells custom-cut and smoked meats, cheeses and other dairy products, freshly baked breads, homemade sides, and much more. My husband and I shopped here once recently. We saw a nice assortment of beef, chicken, pork, turkey, kielbasa, bologna, burger patties, raviolis, vegetables, prepared salads, breads, pies, cookies, packaged grocery items (e.g., chips, nuts, and sauces), etcetera. We took a number to get in line for the deli meats. We chose a meatloaf, chicken salad, maple sausage links, and chicken patties. The total price was $30. Crazy good place... asked if they had uncut beef short ribs and although surprised they accommodated me. Apparently full short ribs haven't caught on in this area, they put any other beef rib to shame if cooked properly! I also noticed they had beef tri-tip which is another cut you don't see much in this part of the country and one of my favorites for backyard grilling Santa Maria style. I also picked up some of their housemate jerky, beef stick, and pepper sticks, all we're well above average and really great tasting. The rest of the market had good looking lunch handhelds, plenty of fresh meat selections, and a little bit of local bakery items. We'll definitely return! read more

Wow! Impressed with everything in this store. The smoked turkey from the deli was amazing! The buns were so incredibly soft and was the perfect accompaniment to the turkey when we made sandwiches later. They also have pretzel buns! The meats here are fabulous. We tried the maple breakfast sausage which was some of the best we've had. The have prepared foods in the hot section and prepackaged meats to grab and go. We also saw pies and desserts too. We can't wait to go back and try more things, because everything we got this first visit warrants a 5 star review. read more

I go here fairly often. They are friendly, organized, and run a clean establishment. They definitely deserve five stars, but today I needed to ask about sodium content of hotdog products, and they were not able to provide it. Additionally, a manager told an employee to "give a couple of pieces of Canadian bacon as a sample", but the salesperson weighed and charged me for those samples. The blonde that works the hot food section has s terrible personality & should find a different job if she is THAT UNHAPPY? Wow! Every time I have gone in there, she has aggravated me. I will not give them another dime. There were 6 people working the hot food section today & not one of them said hello or acknowledged that there were 4 of us standing there waiting, so finally after 10 minutes I asked if anyone was working the hot foods? If you are looking for a good fresh cut of meat, this is the place to go. The lunch menu is really good too. They used to have really good soups too but something happened about six months ago, because there soups used to be great too. I used to love there lobster bisque soup. It used to have lots of lobster and baby shrimp in it. The last time I bought it out of the refrigerated section and when I got it home and took it out of the container I realized that there wasn't even one chunk of anything in it. It was all just cream. I will never buy soup again I can't scoop out myself. I have been in there probably 10 times after this and the soup always seems to be lacking substance. I have only tried the soup a couple times since and I'm always disappointed. read more

Had these guys do some catering for our Christmas Party this past weekend. What an amazing job! The food was absolutely delicious. Every one of our guests was blown away by everything. Just the most wonderful experience for a city girl. Came to mars 19 years ago. one of the first meals as a newly wed was a good steak dinner. Staff is great owners are sweet. Went to Dave's Meats a couple days ago searching for some nice, thick pork chops...I found some beautiful ones. Prices are really good too. They seem to have a solid lunch/hot foods program going on. I ordered a Reuben for my Dad since I don't eat bread, when I took it to him he said it was EXCELLENT. the place is VERY clean and the staff was very pleasant and helpful.
