This No Frills at Lawrence East and Markham Rd. has become my favourite in area because it's huge and clean and it has a great butcher area in back. Today I got some medium ground beef at amazing deal $3.99 lb and great deal on PC hummus for $2.50 each. Limit was 6 so I got it! I'm learning to eat more healthy and it's more convenient to get store bought hummus until I learn how to make my own. This PC brand is delicious! I went around 10am on a Saturday before it got busy. Quiet ambiance which I enjoyed. No line up at self-check out. read more

If I were to describe this grocery store in a single word it would be CLUSTERF*CK. This No Frills is located in Cedarbrae mall; it is quite big and has all the "frills" one could ask for. They have a fresh fish counter, a butcher, a large packaged meat and dairy section, a pharmacy section and due to the demands of the local population they also carry some exotic items (you can probably find many Indian/Sri Lankan ingredients at this store). I particularly like their meat and fish section as it is always clean and they have a wide variety of meats and fish. The entire store is always very clean and well stocked; they always seem to have plenty of the popular sale items for the week. The downside of this No Frills is not in the amenities but because of the fact that it is usually really busy. Parking is guaranteed to be a nightmare, there are always people going in every direction in the parking lot making it difficult to find parking, you should expect to almost get in to 3 accidents while navigating this lot. The other downside is they never seem to have enough staff to handle the amount of customers, there are always only like 3-5 cashiers even at peak times leading to horribly long lines, prepare to have your patience tested. I also feel like their cashiers are operating in slow motion most of the time, with the long lines you would think they would hustle but they don't. Overall in terms of amenities and cleanliness this No Frills is top notch but unfortunately the parking and long line-ups tend to make your shopping experience more stressful than it needs to be. read more

This store has always had slow checkout and long lineups; but since they added self-checkout machines about a year ago, they seriously cut cashiers to try to force customers to do self-serve. I would never agree to do the work myself just so security guards could stand looking over my shoulder and randomly decide to check my bags, even if those machines did have some way to use cash in the self-serve lines (they don't -- credit/debit only)! So now it's 15mins to 1/2hour checkouts at the best of times; I can only guess that it's an hour or more on weekends. On more than one occasion now I've walked out leaving all my groceries, for them to put back, after the time spent waiting to pay exceeded the total amount of time I spent going through the store filling the cart. I have recently started using other stores even though that means carrying tons of groceries much farther distances, but I didn't have that opinion earlier tonight. And it was then that I noticed, for the first time, that the store also false advertises the Country of Origin information on their products. All those times previously that I chose between South African or Peruvian or American pears or plums or nectarines, I today noticed the super-fine print on the barcode label that indicated that all those products, regardless of the advertised Origin on the product price signs, all the labels actually proved that the fruit all came from the U.S.A.; those "Buy Local" Ontario Peaches, product of "California"; I can only guess where the tomatoes actually came from, since their labels didn't specify any origin. It leaves me wondering what other kind of shady dealings and relabelling are happening at that store. I doubt that I'll shop there again, particularly when there are hundreds of other, albeit less convenient, options to choose from. read more

This is my fav spot to shop. Its always stocked up. 1,2,3 sales are never or hardly ever depleted. They have an amazing choice of meats pre-packed or you can go to the butcher and the selction of food is great The only problem is they should have taken the other part of space where metro once was, as this No Frills is packed but they seem to get you check out fast . This is my favourite no frills. Their produce are always fresh, large selections of different culture food. I've tried quite different culture food as a result and I love it. Meat and poultry departments are always fresh. Seafood persons are sometimes rude but fresh fish and shrimp. Downside is lack of staff to assist customers. Busy parking lot and some customers are rude. Not the proprietors fault though. I've been to many now frills but this is my favourite by far. read more

I buy all my groceries at Dave's No Frills. today is a very disappointing day for me, in this bad weather I went out and did my groceries.when I came bake my children were hungry I quickly open ARS flatbread to warm it, and it was full of fungus.Then checked the date it was expired @ April 6 and today is April 17. I have a love/hate relationship with this store. It's close to home so it's convenient. It's clean and bright. I spend far less here than at the other major grocers. The variety of goods is vast. They recently started to crowd out shelf space for 'North American' foods in favour of other cultural options. I have tried many new foods as a result, but, my feeling is they went too far in that direction. For some reason, the clientele here has become increasingly rude and disrespectful. That's a shame but speaks to what the world is becoming and is no fault of this grocer. The parking lot is often a nightmare (a full on fist fight was even featured on local news, caught on video). If you can go mid week, during the day, it's easy-peasy. All other times, be warned, it's awful. Best suggestion to navigating it is to head for the back of the lot (against the concrete retaining wall beside Lawrence Ave). and use that area to make your way around the perimeter, head toward the LCBO and exit from their lot. Also note....they took away the shopping cart sheds in the parking lot 2 years ago. The result is, you have to walk your cart all the way back to the front entrance to get your loonie back. So...head there at the right time, learn the parking lot and enjoy. If you insist on going on a Saturday, midday.....you have only yourself to blame. It's a zoo. read more

i shop fruits and meat products.what i like is that everything is fresh.. what i dont like is that sometimes the shelves r emty, or the fridge ...so the employees r suppose to fill it.. but they just make a group and stand in a corner and keep talking. this is not good. not once always .. you will see this if you shop at everning or after.. it wil so be good if they open the express lines once in a while in the evening weekdays. yesterday i shopped there. in front of register there was i think venegar spill and a lady told the cashier about. she did nothing about it. she didnt call for the people who sweeps and clean it use some towelpapers to just cover the spill... read more
