This No Frills has plenty of free parking, and is tucked away on the quieter side of the mall. Check the corner near the self-checkout / ice cream fridges for seasonal and/or clearance items. I get produce here and pick up additional stuff from the isles, but tend to stay away from the fish and meat sections -- they usually smell so bad, I'm worried about the quality. read more

I'm upgrading my rating for Carlo's No Frills. The No frills experience is good. This store often has good deals on produce and various items, better than many other grocery stores Service is generally good. I remember one cashier in particular who was super helpful, and made sure I had the bags I needed etc. One thing that could be improved is the rain checks system. Getting a rain check for items they've run out of takes quite a long time, which is unfortunate. read more

I would have to say this store is a ticking time bomb for community spread of CV-19. 1) the store allows for too many shoppers inside at any given time to not allow for proper social distancing. 2) the carts/ baskets are NOT sanitized nor is there any hand sanitizer for customers to use (I did ask the staff if this was just an oversight and they said this is not a practice they do) 3) shoppers inside do not observe social distancing nor do they (50%) have a face covering to mitigate the risk 4) the lineup is INSIDE the store that wraps around the perimeter of the store reaching the mall entrance (45 minute wait from there) 5) staff do not sanitize the conveyer belt/ payment machine between shoppers Need I say more? This is the No Frills of my dreams. It's basically as clean and well stocked as a Loblaws, without the pricing. What they have going for them: - PC Financial branch - Seafood counter with fresh, live seafood - DAIYA NON-DAIRY CHEESE AT $4 A PACK. These things usually clock in at $6 anywhere else! Yes, I stocked up. They also have a very large kosher section, which means more non-dairy treats for me! Yay!! Ample parking and two exits, one to the outside, one to Centrepoint mall. Consistently long lineups and poor service, even compared to other No Frills. Every time you try to redeem a coupon or do a price match, they always argue for some reason not to match, or don't understand english well enough and can't understand what the coupon says. I also regularly shop at the No Frills in Markham at Warden & Highway 7, and that location is far better, cleaner, and never has lineups as long as this location. Also a higher class of people working and shopping at the Markham location. This location at Centrepoint is so frustrating that I'm sometimes willing to spend more at a more expensive supermarket just to avoid going there. read more

This is one of the better No Frills locations that I've visited, but conditions rapidly deteriorate as the day wears on: get here EARLY. Stock is usually available for everything on my list and the produce is mostly good. They have excellent selection for a variety of brands that you won't find elsewhere. I don't buy much meat in general so I don't know if it's worse/better than other places. That said, the store owner felt it necessary to put up a sign advising people that packaged meat must remain packaged (no swapping cuts), leaving the impression that some shoppers here aren't the most hygienic. Bottom line - make sure it's well sealed. Arriving here at peak times can be stressful unless you come prepared. There's the usual passive-aggressive rudeness I've learned to live with in Toronto grocery stores, but here at No Frills, there's also straight-up regular aggression. People will ram their way past you without batting an eye. Parking is usually full, so skip the headache and don't park in the line of fire near the entrance. read more

This is similar in size to other larger No Frills, such as the one at Dundas and Lansdowne. No Frills -- being a privately owned Loblaw's franchise and not a part of corporate Loblaw's --seems to have a bit more leeway in marketing to the predominant ethnic groups in the area. So, as one might suspect from its Yonge and Steeles location, there is a large kosher selection and good selection of Asian specialties. Surprisingly, not all that much in the line of Persian food, but perhaps it does not feel in compete with Persian supermarkets nearby. Produce selection is good but items may run short when store is busy. I have found that if you buy fish at No Frill's, the tuna and tilapia are usually fresh enough but cod and sole should be avoided. Meat selection is excellent and as is usual, ethnic specialties are carried, at least to some degree. Reasonably clean. Checkers are not outstanding but unlike in some No Frills stores, they are not overtly rude. The parking lot here is strange and if you are going for the first time, remember to go all the way in the back and not park by the side entrance where you go in through the mall. Their shopping carts don't work if you take them out of their area; presumably because it would be too labour intensive to retrieve them from other parts of the large mall parking lot. read more

Very big store, different varieties stuff the you won't find at other nofrills. They have almost everything a loblaws or a longos has but a much cheaper price, but for the price you do sacrifice customer service, there not so helpful and rude at times. But if you know what your coming in for not a problem you will find everything you need plus more. read more

No Frills sends me an email every Friday to advise of this week's sales, and when they're hosting the $1, $2, $3 sales, I rush straight there after work! I've been told never to purchase raw meat at No Frills, but I usually get the veggies here. There are empty boxes available for you to stow away your groceries, and you could get cash-back when paying. The selection at No Frills is very international - they've got an aisle with an abundance of spices, an area with Chinese buns and also a kosher section. It's nice that they're connected to Centrepoint Mall, which has a decent food court if you're too lazy to go home and make dinner after grocery shopping. Overall, No Frills is where you'll find groceries at the most reasonable price! read more

This is my local No Frills. Parking is decent and sufficient. Hours are great. The store is clean and typically always fully stocked especially with the sale items. This store has a separate meat vendor whom do carry butcher quality meats and they fresh. There are good sized sections: international foods, dollar store, meat and baked goods. Price matching is easy and service is good. Haven't had any troubles yet. read more

This is a big No Frills & has a surprising selection of food. Lots of filippino foods here & they even have a butcher section in this supermarket. This is always a busy location & I've never seen it empty. I like that it's clean and organized compared to other No Frills I've been to. read more

Best No Frills location, IMO. Huge. Assorted selection. Very diverse offerings for a major chain. They stock items you won't find in other No Frills locations in the city, any Metro, Food Basic or even their sister company, Loblaws. And the prices are way better than Food Basic. One of the better No Frills location in the GTA. I love buying my groceries here because the prices are cheaper than most competitors and I can easily stay within my budget. This location is clean, well stocked, has efficient service and the fruits and veggies are always fresh. Come here if you want quality grocery items at a value price. read more

I was impressed at this clean, well organized grocer. Lots of variety and some very good specials to be had so keep an eye open. The meat selection and fruits ands veg option were sufficient. The location is convenient as it's right on Yonge street with busses coming past every 30 minutes. The cashier was friendly and courteous and I was impressed by the cost of around 4 bags of various groceries coming in at just over $100. We will be back for sure! read more

I went in to carlos no frills with a completely mouldy 680 gr. pack of brown mushrooms. Granted they were 9 days old. That being said, I purchase these same mushrooms every 2 weeks and they last at least 3 weeks. They were mouldy not rotten suggesting a growth. I spoke with 1 woman who spoke to the produce manager " Sam " who said he would not refund. I didn't want a refund but a replacement and still a denial. Then a woman manager came and said she would replace them because they stand buy their own brand only to be followed by " Sam " saying no again and that their return policy on produce is 2 days. What goes bad in 2 days???? Only "Sam" treated me extremely rudely and I said I would not be back. He said sarcastically "that's up to you mam" Obviously they would rather lose all our business over $5.00 worth of mushrooms. I will never return there. read more

No Frills' return policy is 14 days. This is what is printed on your bill. We bought some persimmons on November 9th 2014 from Carlo's No Frills in North York, ON. They were the wrong type (my daughter eats only Fuyu persimmons, not Hachiya persimmons). We went back on the 16th to try & return or exchange them. The manager (this was at about 3:00 PM on the 16th of November) told us that the return policy for fresh produce was 2 days, and pointed to a small notice behind the returns counter. I pointed out that the bill said 14 days but he kept repeating "2 days". His English was bad. This is absurd: a return policy needs to be made clear to customers when they are buying their goods - on the bill, or at least prominently at the cash register. It looks as if this No Frills is making up rules as they go. I am aware that No Frills locations are franchises but there needs to be a standard policy. The manager was rude and directed us to head office (of course). On arguing with him, he said we could return with our bill and he "would see what he could do..." (We had our bill, but the cashier misread the date of November 9th as September 11th, and we didn't spot her error till we returned home). He did not commit to refunding the money even if we had returned with the "correct" bill. Just said "they would look at it". We just wrote it off. Last visit to this piece-of-crap place. We'll be going to the other stores in this area from now on. read more

No Frills is usually hit or miss - and I find most No Frills have terrible produce (stock not fresh). However, this No Frills has pretty good quality products. I usually buy meat products only when it goes on sale that week but I find Charlie's Meat sells meat for a very reasonable price. The only thing about No Frills is that the mall entrance closes at 8:45 and the other entrance is quite far from the mall. Therefore if you are late night shopping like I am after work, you should park at the No Frills entrance. The only other complaint is that the line up is long sometimes. Other than that, I am happy to buy PC items at a cheaper price while saving up on PC points! read more
