My car got towed in from an accident, insurance rep and I spoke to a person at Daves towing to let them know when I'd be there to clean out car. went today and was rudely rushed and told I had to pay because I didn't have "full coverage " on my insurance. after I called my Insurance rep, I finally got to my car after the person Inside "didn't deal with 3rd parties". place is a joke. read more

Very unprofessional. Gave time frame of one hour. Arrived 50 minutes late then said they had a more important call to take and left me stranded. Worst towing company ever!!! Always had to wait for At least 2-3 hours. Anytime we called AAA is always now - 45 minutes window but once the call is transferred to Dave's damn that's it, we are talking 2 hours plus. Had to tell AAA never to send Dave's my way ever again. read more

Which is stressful enough, however Dave's towing was able to get someone out within 20 minutes of my request. They took a bulk of my stress away. Their tech was amazing and so kind when he arrived. I got a tow through AAA and Dave's Towing was the tow truck company they used. I needed to be a passenger and indicated that through AAA--that was accepted, until suddenly I received a call from the dispatcher that Dave's was refusing to take me, and that I would have to find a ride. It was below freezing out and I had no ride. Then, Dave's picked up my car (unattended tow, as they required) and NEVER DELIVERED MY VEHICLE. I was told by AAA dispatch that the tow driver, despite having the correct address, decided to bring my vehicle to Dave's. That vehicle was a trade-in and never arrived at the dealership, which cost me $500. It's now been 7.5 hours since they picked up my car to drive it to a location 38 minutes away. I've never had a bad experience with Dave's towing. I personally had never been towed by them prior to today but I have ridden with them for someone else's car. I noticed my battery acting funny so just to be safe I wanted a tow so my mechanic could check it out. They arrived quick after I placed the call (within 20 minutes) so that's awesome. The guy working was super cool (I forget his name!! He knows who he is :-) ! Told him I'd leave a good review LOL He came with a flat bed which I always prefer. Worst experience with this company! Called AAA for a tow at 8:30am was given a ETA of 9:29 am(which was fine) proceeded to arrive at 10:30. Then was told my mechanic was 15 miles away Mapquested it, it was 9. I drove to the same place in 10 minutes and preceded to wait. Was told there was traffic which was bs. Did not arrive at mechanics until 11:55. My mechanic closes at noon now another couple of days with no car. This place is a sham and ripoff! read more

WADDYA KNOW DAVES TOWING BACK AT IT AGAIN BREAKING THE LAW!!! Recently had a another one of my cars towed from my residents and okay I'll admit I was at fault for not displaying a parking pass. What was incorrect was the fact that I caught the driver outside as he was hooking up my car. Per Rhode Island Law if a vehicle owner catches the tow operator prior to him leaving the site the fee is 60 dollars well their driver thought he'd be able to hussel me and charge me 110 dollars. I'll put a pic below of the PUC regulations(I work for a towing company so I have a copy in my truck) When the police arrived to my location they informed me that this wasn't the first time DAVES Towing was reported for breaking PUC regulations. All I'm saying is this even tho they may help with changing batteries they break the law. Stay away from using DAVES these people are on the verge of being kicked off of Smithfield police mark my words. read more

My 50,000 dollar truck was towed by Dave's towing one night after running out of gas on the side of the highway. I had onstar coming to give me gas and the state police called them for whatever reason I'm not sure of. The douche bag tow guy came up to my window demanding I pay 90 dollars for the gas I didn't need because he was sent out there by the state police, I didn't know who sent him. I said I'm not giving you a dime I have my own service coming. He decided to be a douchebag and say okay well I'll get them back over here I'm towing it. Guy was really on a high horse because he lost his union construction job and worked for 15 bucks an hour. The scumbag rummaged through my truck and stole 160 dollars in cash from it. I assumed he needed it more than I did. The reason my truck was towed was because the registration was suspended due to the fact that my commercial auto policy doesn't load to the DMV website so I had to send them my insurance manually. I run a successful business and people like that tow guy are the reason they are where they are. I have respect for everyone who gives it to me but not that guy or the fat fucking lady in the office that decided to say to me when I went to get my truck that I gave her driver an attitude. Respect is earned not given. The slob at the desk thinks because she has a contract with the state police she can talk to people however she wants. When I walked in I was on the phone with my father and she told me to get off the phone after she realized how rude she was speaking to me she didn't want anyone else to hear it. Some nerve she had but I just bit my tongue. But now I will write this review because it's well deserved. A bunch of jealous low life wanna be punks that's work there. I went to the dmv they waived all fees and reinstated my registration with no fine at all because it was there fault. I just bit my tongue so I could get my vehicle back, but she was saying " oh I didn't hear from the state police that this matter was all set" when I had the paper work in my hand from the dmv. She just wanted to hop on her high horse that she thinks she had to tell me oh ur not getting ur truck back. Sure enough I got my vehicle back all my paperwork was in order. I have to say my experience with this company was the worst!! Picked up my truck at 5:30 pm and asked as a convenience if they could tow first thing in the morning so they didn't have to deal with traffic, going from RI to MA, said sure no problem Mechanic doesn't open till 6 am. Rent a car and get a text they will drop off my vehicle at 12:00 the next day!! Called AAA found out who had my car (AAA can't give you a phone number) . Call ask to speak to a Manager - guy says what do you mean! I'm the owner, gave me nothing but attitude and said I agreed to have it dropped off sometime the day! REALLY!!! When you work for a living and need your car repaired you are on time constraints, I would have never agreed to that, would have called a real towing company. Then he hangs up on me!! Total rude ignorant person! Call AAA and blast them for having someone like this guy represent AAA and he should not be allowed to treat customers this way! Spoke to a Supervisor, who was so nice and helpful, was shocked at the POOR SERVICE I received. Now my vehicle is in the shop another day, another day of car rental!! I'm sure Dave's Towing is going to reimbursement for my extra day of car rental.... Don't know because when I mentioned it that is when he hung up!! Early in the morning on January 15th, my family and I were traveling on 295 in a rental car on the way to TF Green Airport. The low tire pressure light came on and then, sure enough, we heard the dreaded noise that can only mean a flat tire. I called the roadside assistance number through the rental car company, was put on hold for what seemed like an eternity and then finally got through to an operator who said it would be 45 minutes to an hour before someone could come out. Luckily for us, an RI State Trooper came to our rescue and personally called roadside service for us. Yup, Dave's to the rescue! He was there in about five minutes and put the spare on for us in what must absolutely be the world record. He was courteous and friendly, which helped to calm us down in what was a stressful situation. We got to the airport on time with enough time to grab Dunkin Donuts before boarding. If it hadn't been for Dave's Towing, we would have been stranded for another day. Thank you so much! read more

This company is triple a approved so i am assuming it is a reputable company. I called them for a dead battery and they came out and could not fix it. They could not even help me change my battery. The next day I called them to tow my truck. They came and didn't tow my car and told me i had to dig my car out of 3 inches of snow push my car into the street and then call them back. So a few hours later they came and were going to tow it to the mechanic I asked for. Keep in mind I kept telling them which mechanic i wanted it to go to from the beginning. I called the mechanic for an update the next day and they said that Dave's never brought it over. Then when I called Dave's they didn't know where it was.
