After keeping it parked behind his shop for 5 months getting covered with dirt & dust, he called me to tell me he had it repaired. I brought my 2 year old trailer in because it had some water getting through the pop out. I did some quick research and it seemed like Dave's was the place, so I gave them the opportunity. While trying to schedule an appointment, I was trying to gauge the duration of the stay, obviously pretty hard to give exact dates over the phone, and prior to seeing the trailer. I was told not long, and I replied with something along the lines within 3 months and the guy chuckled at the duration. So I booked the appointment. After dropping off for the appointment, he told me it would be looked at this Friday, and will call Monday for an update. Which was the last I heard from them for two weeks. Getting a little nervous, I reached out, and they said no worries, haven't got around to looking yet, it'll be in this week, and will call for an update. Another couple of weeks went by and radio silence. I'm trying not to pester, as a business owner myself, life happens. It was also prior to having any trips scheduled so I waiting over the weekend before reaching out again. I called after the weekend, and left a vm, which a couple days later got a response saying the trailer is in the shop now, and will be getting word shortly. Ok, it's been the better part of a month now, starting to have a bad taste in my mouth. I started to reach out figuring things out, then finally getting some traction, I was told they found some leaks. Was offered the repair of $2k to re-seal the roof, and kinda thinking this would be a warranty covered event, it wasn't. So I approved the work. It was said to be ready the following Monday , it was currently Thursday. The weeks continued to stack up and reaching out to understand if/when my trailer would be ready. I've gotten responses from our guy is sick, hard to get guys in the office, it's going in the shop this week, etc... finally I've committed to a hard deadline to have it finished. Long story shorter, 4 months have gone by and I've got my trailer back. Upon leaving their complex, I heard one of the guys telling the supervisor/owner perhaps, that the dicor was still wet. But I wasn't sure he was talking about my trailer or what. So right before I leave, supervisor said to let it air out once I get home to allow it to dry. Once I got home, I popped out the pop out and let it dry. The next morning, I was excited to have my trailer back after 4 months of shenanigans, and I started to clean it out and ensure everything was in proper working order. During this time I realized the I had dried dicor on the weather seal from when I brought my pop out in from pick up. I have it doesn't become tacky, and prevent the seal from working as designed. A little bothered by now having to go and goof off that seal, I was going to fire up my stove to clean, and my propane tank was missing off the trailer. These were brand new tanks, literally never used, and one was gone. Reached out to Dave's to make it right, and someone gave me their personal number to swing by and collect a similar tank (size) off their personal trailer, as they couldn't mind my. No kidding, they had my trailer for 4 months. So I agreed, and reached out when I was in the area, no response but it was Sunday so I didn't have high hopes. After collecting a different tank, which seemed to be in good shape, it was completely empty. Which my other tall tank was completely full with its first fill. Beyond frustrating! The work they did with the dicor seems to be fine. (It's been a week or two). Their service, attentiveness, and dishonesty is tough to get through. So much in fact, I will be doing all future work to my trailer myself, or driving a couple hours to find another shop. It cost me over 4 months of time, headache after headache dealing with these guys. Sunday afternoon, day one of our vacation, we almost lost a wheel on our camp trailer on the freeway. On faith, I had it towed the half hour north to Dave's Trailer Repair in Ukiah. They were closed so we left it outside their gate. When I returned the next morning just before their 8 a.m. opening time I found the trailer had been moved inside their locked yard. Larry had noticed it there Sunday night and moved it safely inside. When the staff came to work they flew into action. They sent me to get a new wheel (shout out to Les Schwab for getting me in and out in less than half an hour with my tire mounted and balanced on a new wheel!). By the time I got back Larry's staff had replaced the destroyed brake drum with a perfectly good used one they had on hand, replaced the destroyed studs, lubed both hubs and mounted my spare. When I mentioned I'd come back to have them take a look at my wonky propane refrigerator Larry serviced it there and then (it works perfectly now). I was amazed at how little it all cost and I was on my way by 10 a.m. After a horible experience at Camping World I am never having my rig serviced anywhere but Dave's, the two hours up from San Francisco notwithstanding. Came in to get help with my trailer. Main reason I came in was my awning fell onto the ground. They took it off because I was about 800 miles from home. I also found out I had a blowout/-which I had the night before. There was a nail in another tire. I ended up getting all new tires because my tires were made in 2007. Larry told me I'd keep having blowouts due to a slight bend in the rear axle. Had to get both axles & springs replaced. Since I was there I had them check out the refrigerator, replace the bathroom sink (cracked due to bottle of mouthwash flying out of the medicine cabinet), fix a drawer slide. Larry allowed me to stay on the lot the extra night they had to keep the trailer for parts. They had the trailer a total of 8 days. I & my trailer are happy...yay! read more

Theses wonderful people are worth their weight in gold!! I was traveling through the area and burned my internal electrical cord resulting in a total loss of power inside my class A motorhome. I called while en route to Ukiah from Oregon and was greeted on the phone by a super nice man, Cody who made an appointment for early the next day. In fact all the staff I met were very professional and courteous. They took me in and fixed my problem in less than 3 hours! Great service and great value. They saved my trip. My husband & I were recently on our first anniversary road trip, which was also our first big outing with our popup trailer, a wedding gift from last year. Without any warning, on Day 4 we experienced a small electrical fire when we were hooking up the harness that powers the brake & running lights for the trailer. It was a terrifying experience, and thankfully we were able to get things disconnected before the battery exploded, but we were left with a melted mess of wiring and no lights, making us illegal on the road. We were in Santa Rosa and tried four different repair shops, but they were all booked solid for 3 weeks and no one could help us. Since we were headed to a campground near Ukiah that day, I used Yelp to locate Larry Bates at Dave's Trailer Repair and gave him our sob story. Larry was equally as booked as the others but took pity on us since we were on the road and so far from home, so he told us to make our way up the 101 an hour to his place for an emergency repair. He even made sure we had his name in case we were pulled over by CHP, saying that he knew all the cops in the area and they would let us go if they knew we were going to see him. Immediately we felt like we were in good hands. Upon arrival we could see how busy the shop was, and were grateful that he squeezed us in. He set his handy & friendly apprentice Jeremiah on the case with frequent supervision, and in an hour or so our wiring was right as rain, all lights operational. Larry was incredibly fair with his price since it was mostly labor, and now I know why people travel from all over the US to have their equipment serviced by Larry and his able team. I left our Class A RV at Dave's to have black tank unplugged, apparently the previous owner threw baby wipes into the toilet cousin the problem for me anyway Daves fix that problem, which I was very happy they did. The next thing I asked to have done was to check the oil for me. I told the man there's a gallon of synthetic oil in the rear outside compartment but I guess he figured that I want to have oil change. I just had it done in Oregon the week before and only had a few hundred miles on it, but anyway the real problem I have is, I paid $300 to have the auto leveling system check it wasn't working I was getting messages on the dash that read service required, unfortunately for me when I was told that RV was done, we were just in a hurry to head home to Pennsylvania that I didn't check out everything. Well to my surprise the leveling system never did work all the way back home and it still doesn't work. I guess I'm gonna have to have somebody else repair it, whatever the problem is. I feel Dave's should've made this right. I tried many many times to speak to somebody, since I've been back home and I keep getting the runaround, they always say that they will have somebody called me, but they never do. I'm very disappointed because we were recommended by our good friends that live in Ukiah and have there new Class C RV repair and service there. read more

His efficient and very personable office manager BRYCE coordinated the whole effort. Started out OK, but has gone downhill. He had our coach for months, kept promising to be done and it wasn't. The delays were stressful. He did a good job adding the tow package to our rig. We were traveling from Oregon and the lock on our RV door stopped working. My husband and I tried to wrest it off, but could not do so. We did, decide that it needed a new latch mechanism and not a visit to a locksmith. We were in Fort Bragg and decided to head inland. Ukiah has two repair places listed. We called the first and they were helpful on the phone, but were mobile and we really wanted somewhere with a shop. So we kept going and rolled up to Dave's Trailer Repair. Larry came right out and said he could order us one that would be in the next day. Perfect. Today the part came in at 3 and he had us back on the road by 4. The lock was really hard to remove, but Larry muscled it off. It took several different tools so we were really glad we didn't go with the mobile place. Beware! We took our trailer to this place in august of 2016 for minor repair and warranty work and every time we called, were told we were "next" on the list and work would be started on our trailer. This went on from September, October and November. We finally just gave up without any work EVER being done on it for the 4 months they had it. In December my husband just went down to pick it up and it was still sitting in a "parking lot" of trailers. In fact the stalls that they do work in were so cluttered and crowded it's no wonder they couldn't work on it, there was no room to do anything by the looks of it! read more
