The best! My transmission was difficult and Sam worked relentlessly to make sure I was 100% happy with it.

Quality, Professionalism, Patience, Education, and Value…read more John at Auto Team took CARE of my daughter who is local, after I "interviewed" him from a long distance. She got a great job done at a great price. She was nervous, and he was patient and kind, and explained everything, and showed her the "what and why". I'm convinced we've found her a great mechanic, and we're staying.

Wow. What a mistake to bring my car here for repair…read more Warning lights came on suddenly in my 2016 Subaru Outback at 144,900 miles; the brake and the "eyesight" warning light. After doing some research I found the Auto Team. They took the car for the day for "diagnostics". They called and informed me that i needed an oil change and a new battery. The quote was for $608.62, which did include a $160.00 charge for the "diagnosis". When asked, John told me that he was about 90% certain that the work would fix the car. I took the car to Capitol Subaru. The problem was in the braking system, and was repaired at the Subaru garage under an extended warrantee replacement. I can only imagine the hundreds of dollars I might have spent at the auto team as they hunted and pecked at different possible repair solutions. I'm not a mechanic, but even I knew that an oil change and a new battery would solve the problems. So I guess I'm reasonably grateful that the Auto Team only took $167.00 of my money, for no apparent reason other that to look the car over. A strong consideration. The Auto Team seems poised to take $160.00 from you to even look at your car and give you an opinion of a solution. And in my experience, their opinion, means squat. Shabby experience. These guys were not friendly, knowledgeable, professional, or helpful IN ANY WAY.

3000 dollar bench rebuild of a 4L60E. When I went to pick up…read morethe transmission Sam had a torque converter to go along with it.Told him I already had one,so you would think he would take the price of the torque off the bill but that did not happen. Installed transmission and found out it had no 1st gear start until it reached 1300 rpm and 1st to 2nd would slam using a TCI controller. Took the truck to Sam to check what was wrong,he put it on the lift and connected his zoom box to the trans. and jacked up the rear wheels. He said the trans was ok and the problem was in the TCI controller an suggested I buy a different trans. controller. He had no idea how it acted on the road didn't even drive it. Got to say the people at TCI were great,I sent back the controller three times and they sent me a new one even though there was nothing wrong with any of them. After the fourth one and five months of frustration I decided to take the truck to Salem Transmission and had it repaired right.(They found transmission had wrong gear starts and missing 1st at times, problems with internal control system 2/3 solenoid installed in the TCC bore, causing major actuator feed fluid pressure loss. One shift solenoid stuck off electrically. Replaced shift solenoids.1/2 accumulator valve and sleeve stuck in VB,replaced separator plate for over drilled feed holes and worn out check ball hole with poor repair. This repair costed an additional 1,023 dollars This can be confirmed an much more from Rick Field (owner) of Salem Transmission Services , INVOICE 15002464 IS SAMS TRANSMISSION THE PLACE YOU REALLY WANT TO HAVE YOUR TRANSMISSION WORKED ON ??????
