David is awesome and was easily the best investment my wife and I made at our wedding. We looked great in the photographs and he was very accommodating, especially during our engagement shoot. I never heard one complaint from him despite being pulled in a dozen different directions and he always had a smile. I am not the most photogenic person, i'm 250lbs and 5'10'. Think barrel with legs. Yet I still looked great in his shots. Can't say much about the wife's photos though, she was already beautiful so not too hard for her to look good. He is great to work with for the following: -PATIENT: my to-be-bride showed up a little after planned, but he waited with me and we chatted about life and helped me calm my nerves. -CHARMING: once you meet him, he's got that smile that can light up anyone's day. I live in NY and already knew that I didn't want an elaborate wedding so I decided that I wanted really nice engagement photos (emphasis on the really). I spent several months researching different photographers but I didn't really like their aesthetic. A few of my Seattle friends were photographed by David and I had wished there was someone like him in NY. I took a chance and reached out to him anyway, hoping he could do a destination session. David promptly replied, was clear on the expectations and prices, built rapport to make sure he understood my vision, and my fiance and I both skyped with him. It was hard choosing a photographer who didn't even live on the same coast as us so I needed to make sure we both felt comfortable with him and trusted him. He was so nice and easy going, assuaged our worries, and assured that he would help us through the awkwardness (because my fiance and I are not touchy-feely people). After a thread of emails and incessant questions on my end, trying to narrow down on a destination, we finally decided to shoot at Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend in AZ. David was patient with me throughout the whole process and agreed to meet us there. To prevent myself from going on and on, the experience was amazing. David was quick, gave us direction when we didn't know how to stand and pose, captured amazing shots despite the massive crowds (he made it look like we rented out the entire canyon to ourselves), and gave us shots that I really wanted (slightly editorial, taking advantage of the background, yet still making it all look engagement-y). Above all, he made us feel so comfortable. I was so happy with my pictures--all of my friends raved about how unique they looked from standard engagement photos, and one even used David for her own engagement session. David Cho shot our wedding last weekend in Seattle. We met him through our wedding planner, who recommended David as the perfect photographer for us. We loved his work (stalked his website), but there were lots of great photographers in Seattle--we wanted photographers who not only did great work, but made us feel comfortable in front of the camera (we are super awkward). After the first meeting with David and Christina, we didn't even bother looking up other photographers. David did the wedding with another second shooter, Sako, who was also amazing. They showed up to the hotel room 15-20 minutes before the start time and immediately got to work. By the time he met up with us, he had already scoped out common areas. David and Sako know exactly what they are doing. They made everyone feel so comfortable and natural. They were also very efficient--we were ahead of schedule on photos the whole day. When we were doing family photos (on a roof, no shade, in the Seattle sun in July), he was just as energetic. The rest of us were slowly dying in the heat, but you would have thought David was hanging out in an air-conditioned room with a martini. On top of all that, he is awesome with children! If you can book David, do yourself a favor and get on it! There are the usual reasons--his prices are reasonable, his work is awesome, he's very experienced, etc. But the biggest reason we were so happy with David was that he was such a friendly and fun person that made us comfortable in front of the camera. Many of the wedding guests commented on how great he was. I'll update this review once we get the photos, but we have zero worries. We were very lucky we found them because it was easily one of the best decisions we made during our engagement season. David is phenomenal. We absolutely loved his approach to our engagements photos--my wife and I went on a date; David and Christina stalked us (:D) and taking candid photos that came out beautiful. I'm not someone who enjoys getting their picture taken so choosing a photographer to take our wedding photos made me quite nervous. Going with David to do our photos was one of the best decisions that we made during this whole wedding process! First off, I was really nervous about the engagement shoot because, again, I tend to get really nervous in front of the camera and I do not consider myself to be naturally photogenic. David and Christina truly made the whole process easy and natural. They effortlessly created an environment that helped me feel comfortable and, along the way, captured stunning photos for me and my fiancé. Their warmth and fun sense of humor was exactly what I needed to relax and allow them to capture moments and do their work. The wedding day was exactly the same. We just got our wedding day photos and I could not be more happy and satisfied! They were able to catch the beautiful scenery as well as the subtle details of the wedding (which I was not able to really look at on the wedding day). Not only did they take photos of all the "artistic" elements, but they also captured the "feeling" of the event by not ignoring to take photos of moments with guests and family enjoying the day. We first reached out to David for our wedding photos 4 years ago. David and Christina are extremely professional but they keep everything light and fun (which results in awesome and natural photos that aren't awkward at all). They were especially able to capture the true fun and joy of the night during the reception, and their attention to detail ensures every special moment and aspect of your day is captured! In fact they were so awesome that when my husband and I received orders to move back to Washington state AND we were expecting our first, I knew exactly who to reach out to for our maternity photos. I originally found David through Instagram when searching for a photographer for engagement photos around Seattle. I loved his style, he was incredibly responsive and straight forward about pricing and delivery, so we booked him and were thrilled with the photos. After our original session and with over a year until our wedding we decided to meet with a few more photographers to see what was out there - long story short, no one had more beautiful photos, was more professional or felt more like someone who would be a steady calming presence on our wedding day than David. We made a fantastic decision in hiring him again for our wedding; despite many hiccups that were beyond our control on our wedding day, David was the ultimate professional and did his job beautifully - even in pouring rain. He captures images you'll cherish and is somehow both unobtrusive and there if you need anything.
