This clinic presents itself as a place of care and professionalism, but my experience showed…read moresomething very different. I witnessed behavior toward both patients and employees that felt discriminatory, racially biased, and deeply disrespectful. Patients suffering from kidney disease deserve compassion, dignity, equal treatment, and a safe environment regardless of race. Instead, there appeared to be favoritism toward white patients and employees while others were treated unfairly, spoken about negatively, judged, ignored, or made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. No patient should ever feel racially profiled while receiving medical treatment. No employee should feel discriminated against or talked about because of their race. Healthcare is supposed to be built on trust, care, and humanity, and unfortunately that was not the environment reflected here. What disturbed me most is that these are people already dealing with serious health conditions and emotional stress. The last thing anyone fighting kidney disease should experience is mistreatment, unequal care, or feeling unsafe in a place that is supposed to help them heal. I hope leadership takes these concerns seriously, investigates the culture within this clinic, and makes real changes because discrimination has no place in healthcare.

Confused why it took so long as 1) The waiting room was not crowded and lot of empty patient rooms. And 2) They just gave three tests all at once that they said results would take 10 mins, did not come back until 4:30 and then gave me an additional test that was supposed to take 8mins. I think they just are extremely understaffed. Would have been more of a bearable wait of table for patient was not seated at such an awkward angle. Think I would have been okay with such a long wait time if I could have laid down flat with a pillow and napped while I waited. Hope they are able to hire more staff soon so wait time isn't as long.

A doctor won't see you, so you'll see a nurse who will tell you only a doctor can order bloodwork and refer you back to your PCP three days later after giving you steroids and antibiotics, in which case the doctor three days later will NOT order bloodwork since you're already on steroids, wasting time and money. Then when you go to a normal PCP he will tell you, you should have gotten bloodwork from the beginning. Ridiculous. Don't go here.

After I couldn't get an appointment at my usual family practice places, I decided to try this place…read morebecause at the very least they should be able to see me quickly. My Assumption was correct. From the time I arrived it took me less than fifteen minutes to fill out paperwork, go through the standard H&P with the staff (who is probably just working after high school), get seen by the doctor and then get a prescription and pay my flat rate for an office visit. Key things to note: it took less than fifteen minutes before i walked out with a prescription, and it was CHEAP. Unusual flag-raising kind of things: 1) I didn't see any patient charts anywhere. None. No clutter ANYWHERE. 2) no computers anywhere. These things don't equate. 3) The high school girl in scrubs basically told me what my symptoms were. That's a little odd. 4) they don't bill insurance. They essentially have two fees, one for an office visit and another for a sports physical (which was less). 5) the walkout statement had seven "standard" procedures (in addition to the two office visit codes) pre-typed on the form for the doctor to use as a template. One of the codes was for Nail Removal. (Seriously??) 6) the walkout form had a place for ICD9 codes and not for ICD10. ICD9 codes have not been actively used in medicine for office visits in two years. But I did get my prescription in under fifteen minutes.

I'm so mad right now. I've had a thrush infection in my boobs since Sunday. Baby has a mild case in…read moreher mouth too, which is how I got it. It's super common in breastfeeding moms and super easy to treat. All I need is a prescription for 14 days of Diflucan or generic and it will go away. Baby got an oral prescription already from her doctor. We have to be treated at the same time or we will just pass it back and forth forever. Today I managed to get my super busy mother in law to come by and watch baby so I could go to an urgent care. I didn't want to take the baby to sit in a room full of sick people. Filled out forms, waited about 30 minutes and get to see the doctor. I tell him what the problem is and he fucking tells me I'm wrong and that its IMPOSSIBLE for me to have thrush in my milk ducts. I tell him its common and the pediatrician even confirmed it she just couldn't write me a prescription. He tells me I'm wrong and I have mastitis and don't know what I'm talking about. I was never even examined. He ignored everything I said and finally told me he couldn't help me and acted like an asshole and told me he would do me the favor of not charging me and I could just go. I'm so mad. What a waste of time and I still no prescription. I can't even just give up and suffer because it could turn into a bad case for baby and make her really sick. I am literally crying right now because all I want to do is see a doctor and get help and apparently Dr. Carlson can't help me. He should just stick to his sports physicals but I probably wouldn't even trust him to do that. For those curious here is a page with tons of resources that show you CAN get thrush in the breasts. http://kellymom.com/bf/concerns/child/thrush-resources/

Regarding attempted assault from staff…read more On September 7th, I visited this facility due to severe back pain from a herniated disc. After a 10-hour car ride in excruciating pain, I came in hoping to receive relief in the form of muscle relaxers or a steroid injection. Unfortunately, I was told I could not be seen because of a $400 balance from a prior visit. This balance was the result of my insurance being billed incorrectly, as the facility had changed my insurance information without my knowledge. My husband, understandably upset after watching me suffer for hours, asked to speak with a supervisor but was told no. He did come across as aggravated, which I acknowledged, and I reassured him that it was not the staff's fault, it's their policy, and that I would resolve the billing issue so we could return the next day. At that point, he calmed down. Before leaving, he asked the front desk staff if they could print the last five invoices. Instead of assisting, the staff member snapped back, insisting he say "please" before helping. To demand that in front of me while I was visibly in severe pain felt unnecessary and unprofessional. My husband then said "please," though clearly frustrated. I spoke up, pointing out that he had asked nicely. The staff member responded, "I wasn't raised like that." When I repeated back & forth with him that my husband had not been rude, the staff member suddenly yelled, "B****, PLEASE." At that point, he jumped up from his chair aggressively, yelling and appearing as though he might come over the counter. His coworker immediately intervened and pulled him down the hallway as he continued cursing and shouting. Out of reaction, I reacted loudly in self-defense. Instead of addressing the staff member's behavior, another employee threatened to call the police on me. We contacted the police ourselves and filed a report. The facility filed a restraining order on us. I left the facility exhausted, still in severe pain, and shaken by what happened. While I admit we were not the easiest patients given the circumstances, we still didn't use derogatory language prior to attempted assault, we weren't overly aggressive just frustrated, nothing could possibly justify a medical staff member calling a patient derogatory names, shouting, and behaving aggressively. The fact that this conduct was not immediately addressed on-site is extremely concerning and unprofessional.
