TL;DR Find this bagel. Eat this bagel. Celebrate this bagel. YES, it is THAT good. I've had the pleasure to find David Doughie's at Mueller Farmer's Market every Sunday, sometimes early to beat the line and other times waiting in line with many others to get my hands on these bagels. The texture is amazing, the crust is sturdy and just slightly crunchy enough without feeling dry, dense or hard. It also has its own flavor, far from your standard sort of bland bagel that can't stand alone without anything. Inside of the bagel is exactly what you imagine; pillow'y and delicate without falling apart. I can not stress this enough but when you bite into these, the proportions are PERFECT and the mix of texture + flavor of the dough alone is 10/10. We're also not messing around with sad displays of schemer here, folks. It gets lathered on, it's thick, it's beautiful. On top of the bagels being the best in Austin, the folks they run it are so incredibly kind and patient with everyone in line. Where-ever you think your favorite bagel in Austin is, it's not, it's here.

These bagels were 10/10. I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to bagels, and I was really surprised by how delicious these bagels were. They tasted just like the ones I've had in the best bagel shop in NYC. I honestly can't wait to see the massive growth & success this bagel shop is going to have, as I could tell they truly care about the quality of the food as well as serving their customers the best way possible.

We went to the Lustre Pearl South location and the smoked salmon bagels were so good! The bagel had a great texture and the owner was so nice! He mentioned he might be expanding his offering and we can't wait to see what's next :)

Half dozen bagels: two plain, two everything, one rye and one jalapeño cheddar + plain cream cheese!

Amazing bagels and great people too! I stopped by at the Mueller's Farmer Market this past weekend to try out the hype and they definitely lived up to it. The bagels are absolutely delicious, my favorite is probably the jalapeño cheddar but you really can't go wrong with any flavor! I got the half dozen bagels and plain cream cheese - such a great takeaway and been loving eating them throughout the week at home!

Consistently the best, cleanest bagels in Austin! Always fresh, always hits the spot.

I've tried every bagel in ATX and these are the best! As good as the bagels are, the people are even better.

The front part of the establishment catered to the to-go crowd, so we went to the back of the restaurant that was more of a sit-down bistro. Service was great. We had a friendly, attentive server, and our food came out in a timely manner. I ordered the Breakfast Bun, which was a breakfast sandwich with a steamed egg, cheese, and sesame bun. Loved every bite of my sandwich. The steamed egg was thick and fluffy, and it was oozing with melted cheese. Can't wait to try other items off the menu!

Very attentive! And on a Saturday around Noon you can walk right in and be seated with no wait. I love the Eggs Benedict, but the salads, chicken & waffles, or burger all good options I've tried to. I went again today and had the traditional breakfast with the crispiest bacon and home fries seasoned just right with a big of hatch green chile, and poached eggs and sourdough toast. OMG that toast was definitely freshly made. The room is classic old hotel style and overall in pretty good shape. From the flowers in the the tables to the old fashion coffee bar with pastry case full of fresh croissant and rolls and other delicious options. Even the juices are outstanding and unique, including guava juice.

Whether you're looking to get some work done, meet a friend, or simply people-watch, this spot checks all the boxes. The atmosphere is lively without being overwhelming, and even when it gets busy, there seems to be plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating available. I stopped in on a Thursday morning and enjoyed the chilaquiles, a latte, and one of the most beautiful raspberry scones I've seen in a while. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. The menu also deserves a shoutout for seamlessly transitioning from breakfast to lunch and even happy hour offerings later in the day. One of the highlights was how easy it was to settle in and work. The WiFi was fast and reliable, and I was able to comfortably spend about three hours there without feeling rushed. What truly stood out, though, was the customer service. Every interaction was warm, friendly, and genuine. The staff created such a welcoming environment that it genuinely elevated the entire experience. Between the great food, fast WiFi, comfortable seating, and outstanding hospitality, Jo's Coffee was the perfect way to spend a Thursday morning.

I came here yesterday with my girlfriend and we split a chicken salad sandwich. As someone who doesn't typically eat chicken salad, I was unaware it could contain tree nuts. I took one bite, felt an unexpected crunch, and then felt my throat start to swell. My girlfriend asked a worker if she knew if the chicken salad contained nuts and she frantically exclaimed "oh no! I don't know!" before asking the kitchen. She then came back and said "it has pecans! Is that bad?" And I said "yes. Kinda bad" Luckily because I only had one bite and then proceeded to chew on a few Benadryl I ended up being okay and my throat and lungs were all back to normal in an hour or so, even if I had to spend my day in bed high on said Benadryl. If I had eaten any more of the sandwich though, I very easily could have ended up in the ER. All that to say - the menu does not make any mention of pecans being in the chicken salad, either in-store or online. Which is strange because tree nuts are disclosed in some of the other menu items. This feels like a bit of an oversight, no? Fellow nut allergy-havers: do you avoid chicken salad altogether? Am I ignorant for not knowing the risk of ordering chicken salad? I don't know but this did ruin a whole day for me and very easily could've cost me $2000 and a trip to the ER if I really enjoyed the taste of the sandwich. (Luckily I did not.) Sorry to leave a shady diva review for a time-honored Austin institution - the worker we spoke to seemed very apologetic and reasonably frightened. But you you've really gotta add that *contains tree nuts or your customers are gonna end up intubated. Not very cool! Feel free to send me money or whatever. Please don't send me a gift card.
