    Snickerdoodle latte half sweet
    Kristin J.

Look - I can do a flavored latte, I enjoy it. But gawd damn this shit is so sweet / syrupy it's not even drinkable. I did the snickerdoodle HALF SWEET and she even called out the HALF SWEET when she gave me it. If this is half sweet, I can't even imagine what the normal tastes like. I won't be able to drink it but I am a baby who is too scared to ask them to remake. If you actually like coffee, do yourself a favor and don't even mess with a flavored drink here.

    Potato Tacos and Bacon Taco

Jo's is so iconic, so I was very hopeful that my first visit would be good. I decided to grab some breakfast tacos at this downtown location, and I was excited because I am a breakfast taco fiend. I thought the outdoor seating in front of the coffee shop looked so cute with the rainbow lights. I got two potato breakfast tacos and one bacon breakfast taco. They both come with eggs and cheese in them. These breakfast tacos were unfortunately some of the most mid ones I have ever had, and it was $15 for three. The salsa added some flavour, but the tacos themselves had such a plain taste. They reminded me of the $2 breakfast tacos I sometimes buy from the hospital cafeteria.

Great chicken and waffle. Hearty and delicious. It has cinnamon, and the chicken is crispy and perfectly cooked. They're stingy with the syrup, but always happy to stop by when I'm in the area. Love the turbo coffee too.

Must try the turbo iced coffee ! We actually went back again the second day bc it was so delicious. The breakfast burrito is killer- get some Greek yogurt on the side to use as sour cream.. it was delish!!

Amazing coffee shop in the heart of downtown Austin! I was in the mood for some hot chocolate in this 39 degree weather and it was perfectly made!

    Honey pistachio latte

The green cold foam scared at first and wasn't the prettiest color mixed with the coffee but this honey pistachio latte was incredibly delicious. Not too sweet and very flavorful

you guys. LAVENDER HONEY LATTE is rare to find and they had it and i'm obsessed. also... i have never had a breakfast panini as incredible and satisfying as this.

I was taking a lunch walk solo and I had a pretty good pace and ended up on 2nd street. This coffee is delicious, I recommend the latte it's $5 and delicious. They have seats outside and the view is great, lots of shade and lots of bird sounds. The service was a little slow but nothing bad, just don't anticipate a quick coffee, it's a more laid back take your time type of place. Must try in AUSTIN!

The staff was super nice and welcoming. It's feels like a retro coffee shop, very cute. I got a bacon breakfast taco, it was very tasty and the side salsa was a nice addition. The iced Turbo was very tasty, I highly recommend trying it

    Double stack and breakfast taco.

Jo's is iconic so we had to try it even though the overall Yelp rating is under 4 stars. We were greeted with a friendly, "Welcome y'all" from a young man with cool old school glasses and a mullet (!!). W ordered two Migas tacos (one would be enough for me, but definitely two for him) and I ordered the Double Stack. Not usually a pancake girl, but they sounded good! And we both had almond milk lattes. The lattes were good--nothing special, but not disappointing either. The tacos had scrambled egg, cheese, and pico. Said it came with tortilla strips, but there was no crunch in the tacos, and we didn't see chips in them. Wrapped in a flour tortilla, and W asked for the spicy hot sauce. Overall pretty tasty. The flapjacks were fluffy with a slightly crispy exterior. They don't put butter on them, which is good for us because W doesn't like butter (some kind of birth defect, I think...), and they have grass fed butter at the table. I ate half the stack and W ate the rest. Overall, glad we came! Cute, clean spot right across from the W Austin hotel where we stayed. We also stopped at the location on Congress for a pic under the iconic I Love You wall.

Food runner is a hoity toity yankee b!t€h. He needs to do better. Also, they only have one menu item that is gluten free and it's a nasty a$$ Greek yogurt plate!!!! For $10 is absolutely insane for the yogurt they served.

Great menu, super fast service, and love the flavor combinations. Outdoor seating is a great space to cool off from the sun in the shade, hangout with friends, or catch up on work. Street parking is around and tons to do by this area. The drinks were so good we visited twice in one weekend!

Jo's coffee establishment is located in the heart of downtown Austin and easily accessible by foot and with a fun atmosphere. Walking up the customer is greeted with mini-gated entrance with minimalistic high and low tables thrown about. Walk on in and wonderful aromas hit the nostrils in force. The king of smells is obviously and rightfully so, is the freshly ground coffee. If your nose is able to sift through various roasted beans; eggs, tortillas and bacon raise their hands to be recognized. I do confess I've never had their food but it smells pretty "dog gone good." The white, open ceiling facility has a huge menu on the back wall making ordering a breeze however don't forget to check out the little "daily specials" that are on these little plaques. The staff is quick to help out and offer good suggestions when they're asked. I actually enjoyed the controlled chaos watching the baristas fly around operating grinders, ovens, toasters, milk frothing machines and you get the point. They do work quick however if you're coming in with a crowd expect wait times to increase as well. As for drinks the hot lattes can be outstanding depending on what you might order. That said, I've been to Jo's before so I decided to be adventurous and order the hot special. It was called "Spumoni Latte" with strawberry, chocolate, pistachio, espresso, milk and whipped cream. Unfortunately, it was horrible. The shot of strawberry syrup totally brought the drink out of balance to where none of the other flavors could tickle the palate, thus I'm left with a hot strawberry slurpy coffee concoction that a trashcan would reject. That said my girlfriend ordered an iced latte and it was outstanding. I guess the point here is I encourage everyone to step out of their comfort zone and order something different but also note not all creations might be to your liking. Jo's has a lot of fun swag including cups, mugs, shirts, you name it so you're covered if that's your thing. While I can't speak to the food, it smells great. While I did focus on the one bad beverage I had, that's the exception. I've had their coffee many times before and it's almost always on point. Not everything is going to be a slam dunk but we're all in search of that perfect wave and until we get in the water and paddle out, we'll never know what we're missing. Jo's is an exceptional coffee shop, in a great and safe section of town with a phenomenal staff. Two thumbs up and like the terminator, "I'll be back..."

Got parking right in front around 9 pm on a Wed. Upon entry was greeted by Melissa and sat in her section. The decor is very diner type with low, cozy booths and few tables and chairs. Not too big of a space and not sure if there is more seating elsewhere. Anyhoo, coffee was good and I got the Royal toast and a single pancake with eggs, and sausage. Ample amount of food and def had take away box. Everything was tasty and the buttermilk pancake was amazing with just syrup. Melissa was kind enough to provide little cups to take syrup home along with the tael away container. They had a daily special and a board above the kitchen with other items. Really wanted to try a slice of pie ( TX Pie Co) but seems a bit outta line with what I already ordered. Maybe next time.

We were both starving and this place is open 24/7. I drove by it for 20 years on the way to Avenue Barber Shop. I wanted shredded beef tacos but couldn't get them without cilantro so I chose shredded beef enchiladas (with an $8!) side of chips and salsa. My wife ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and home fries. She requested soft eggs, as she always does because too many places overcook them. The chips and salsa arrived. I was immediately disappointed. The menu said "we make our own chips." They were thick and yellow and appeared to be run-of-the-mill, out-of-a-bag chips. I prefer the thin white ones. I took one bite of salsa, and that was one bite too many. Cumin. I pushed it all aside. Cumin doesn't belong in salsa. (Sorry. I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley.) My enchiladas came with black beans, and there was cumin in them. Cumin is overused and abused in most restaurants. I couldn't eat them. The rice was good but the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas was not. I scraped most of the sauce off and ate one enchilada, mainly because I just needed something in my stomach. We were still 45 miles from home. I pushed my plate away. I also ordered coffee. One sip of that was all I could stand. Too weak for me. It gets worse, much worse. My wife's eggs were barely cooked. She asked the waiter for some cooked eggs. He took her plate and returned about four minutes later. The eggs were still not cooked. She tried another bite but couldn't eat them. Her bacon was tough as a boot and not chewable. The home fries were average, but by the time her plate arrived at our table for the second time, they were cold. I pulled my card out waiting for our excellent server to return. He asked how everything was (he had to notice two plates still covered with food) and we politely told him. I ate one enchilada and some rice. My wife had two bites of egg and two bites of potato. He apologized and handed me the check. $65. Nothing comped and nothing adjusted. A manager should've been summoned. How does a place like this have any customers? It was our first and last visit.

Not quite sure why the food was subpar, but there were 10 of us who all agreed we wouldn't return for food. There is a swanky little cozy speakeasy in the basement that may be good? It's a small space, with only around eight tables and a tiny kitchen behind the counter. It's a bit hard to locate from outside. There's no big sign on the window indicating the restaurant's name, just a plastic A-frame sign outside the building's doors. When I got there, four of the eight tables were empty but the dirty dishes had not yet been cleared. It took close to 10 minutes for the tables to be bused. Because the kitchen is so small, I'd recommend going up to the counter to order as soon as you get there.
