Moreover, his pricing is affordable. He is licensed and bonded. Quality work, affordable, licensed, and insured. He has my stamp of approval! How I met Fernando: My wife and I bought our house in the year we got married, which meant that our budget for home improvements was... lacking. We did most of our improvements as DIY in order to save some cash. My dad and I went to a local paint store after church one day to get items to paint the outside of our house. There was a line for the cashier, so we waited in line with all the professional painters. One of them calls us out, "you guys are too dressed up to be painters!" We strike up a conversation with him. We ask him for tips and he gives us a run down on how to prep the house. This was how we first met Fernando. Then my dad had an idea, "We should ask him to give us a quote to paint the house!" I reluctantly agree. Sounds like a lot of cash. Fernando comes over, takes a look, and then gives us a quote. I whisper to my dad, "Uh, that's a good price, I think that is how much the materials + paint would cost". Really, it was a good price. Plus, the risk of me falling off a ladder would make my wife very mad. Then I thought, is this guy bonded and licensed? I look him up on the California State License Board, and yes, he has an active license and is bonded (CA# 583945). This is a no-brainer! This was 5 years ago. Since, he has painted the inside of my house, my parents' house and fence in Mountain View, and my uncle's house in Sunnyvale, and eventually will be painting my college roommate's house in Willow Glen. My wife and I are currently remodeling our house. I already used up our home equity loan on our construction and we are in the final phase of our project. I go to Costco to buy those Kelly-Moore gift cards to paint our house: 69.99 for 100 bucks. My wife and mom tell me, "Call Fernando!" Now, you know the story, I call Fernando, get a quote, then realize I'm better off having him paint. Do yourself a favor and get a quote from Fernando. I should have done this in the first place. Now, I'm just waiting in the Costco return line to return those gift cards.

Five stars for fair price and attitude!…read more Fernando has painted two houses for us inside. Spent about 1.5 weeks on one and 3 weeks on the other. He truly cares about the end result and works carefully on details that we'd never notice (inside closets, polishing up the hanger bar in the closets, etc). While he may not seem polished on the outside, he is professional, comprehensive and knows the tricks of the trade from more than 20+ years painting. Example: he painted a door to the master bedroom which was actually an outside door with weird glass panels and made it look like a solid wood panel door. He has a really good eye for color, too. He also helped us pick colors and did a better job than the 2 designers we had hired. 1 star minus for some needed touch-ups (which he does without complaint if you notice it) and lengthy conversations about each room. (which are kind of fun as long as you have time). Also, while he speaks flawless english, he has trouble writing/reading english so you need to be patient and clear with written instructions. Hire Fernando. We know several other people whose houses he has painted and we are all satisfied.
