Dr King is an excellent, experienced surgeon with very reasonable pricing in a low key environment. After my second child was ready for a vasectomy. Consultation with Dr King was great, he took his time to provide info and answer any questions, no pressure or hard sell. He immediately impressed me with his confidence, knowledge and respectful manner. When the time came, Dr King worked swiftly and confidently (he let me know he has done many similar procedures, and his experience is evident). Excellent bedside manner, Dr King worked quickly and efficiently, surgery was comfortable with no awkward conversation, Dr King let me know each step as he went. The whole procedure was essentially painless, only moderately uncomfortable. He provided great post-op instructions and guidance. Would highly recommend Dr King for those considering vasectomy. My advice once you've made your decision: visit Dr King and don't rush the healing process. I'm now 6 months post-op and couldn't be happier! read more

This update is because I believe it important to explain why I understand what happened was not a normal complication. I pulled the end of a dissolving stitch on the outside of my body, and felt a rip inside where the cyst was. I blamed myself for not being careful enough. I was embarrassed and waited for it to heal hoping that would be the end of it. When problems continued I went to another Urologist for help. Some time later I learned something shocking; I was told by a Urologist that what I experienced was impossible, because the stitching on the outside is never connected to the stitching on the inside. This is when I understood this was not a normal complication, and because the stitching dissolved there is no way I can know exactly how this happened, even if my experience was in my opinion unmistakable. Later another Urologist told me something more troubling; In this procedure there are not one but several layers cut through, which are all stitched separately and never connected, and the most that could have possibly happened was a superficial skin tear. I was told it's never done any other way. I no longer blame myself and believe this could have happened to anyone by accident. That stitch was like a rusty wire sticking out. Treating the post trauma pain as a nerve complication led to some improvements. However in no way do I believe the organs being damaged has nothing at all to do with any problems that began only after the surgery. read more

Dr King is very kind, soft spoken and mild mannered. However the lady at the front desk is an ABSOLUTE steamroller. I almost didn't come into the office because of her phone demeanor but gave them benefit of the doubt and was seen by Dr. King. Her overbearing disposition is intolerable and permeates the office experience in its entirety. Her rudeness and condescending attitude is unacceptable for any aspect of communication whatsoever and with Dr. King being the exact polar opposite, it's hard to understand how she can be so agitated and angry EVERY time I interacted with her. This being a health care office gives me concern about the response I would encounter in the event of a dire medical emergency. read more

When my husband was diagnosed with bladder cancer, I turned to a nurse friend to find out who he should go to for treatment. We had just come out of a urologist's office with the bad news and my husband was in great pain from the exam and was walking funny. Then we noticed everyone going in and out of that place was walking funny. Yikes. Time to find a "second opinion". Anyway, nurses ALWAYS know the best doctors and those you should avoid. They see the success and failure rates in person, travel all over the country and share information. My friend talked with a brilliant doctor she knew who was diagnosed with bladder cancer and Dr. King was the doctor he chose to perform the surgery. Behind the scenes, Dr. King is described as "Walking on water" and I wholeheartedly agree. He has treated my husband successfully and with great skill and precision - and is a very funny and kind person, too. He also seems very humble which I don't understand; you'd think he'd have a god complex like so many other top tier doctors but he doesn't at all. We come from out of state, which is very time consuming but SO WORTH IT. My husband feels so lucky to have Dr. King treating him and would never go anywhere else. I also have been a patient for kidney stones and am so impressed with him. I just can't say enough positive things about him, which makes sense since he saved my husband's life. And - we've never seen anyone walking funny coming in or out of Dr. King's office. I wish to update my review to especially thank Dr. King's front office manager, Susie, for her help. As a continuation of my last review, we encountered a terrible experience with my CT scan provider, SimonMed. This turned further into an insurance claim issue because SimonMed tried to process without using my insurance. Susie literally stayed with me on a 2-hour phone call, in which we had to sail through my insurance companies and SimonMed to arrive at the truth that SimonMed neglected to claim with my insurance even with insurance info on hand. Susie was relentless in advocating for her patient and my patient rights. Needless to say, I am super thankful for her kind help and dedication to her patients. Without Susie, we could not have clarified the whole mess caused by the imaging provider with my insurance company. So not only does Dr. King provide great care, his front office manager, Susie, will take care of you when it comes time for insurance issues. Thanks again Susie! read more

I've seen Dr. King for going on three years for bladder cancer, and he's literally the ideal doc. He's technically astute, competent and current in his fields. More important to me though, he has wonderful personal skills. Dr. King is always empathetic, forthright, respectful, thorough, confident, caring! I also have to say that he knows how to apply his knowledge with wisdom. His office environment is calm and pleasant and easygoing, just like he is! The office staff is horrible, they never answer the phone and when they do some rude bitch comes on. My doctor shares an office with this Dr. i had some issues getting refills and yelled at the staff because went 5 days without meds, so yea maybe I was rude too but I was in PAIN. After my dr not returning calls went into the office and was told by the rude bitch, my dr, dr Gould will not return my calls. Dr King came to the front and I asked if I could speak to him regarding the matter and he said No. He owns the office yet he doesn't want to hear both sides.. Dr. King saved my life, plain and simple. I had been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer by another doctor. Since he thought my cancer had metastacied, he forewent the curative options - radiation therapy or surgical removal - and went instead with hormose therapy to simply slow the cancer down. He said to me "You have three years, five years, maybe even twelve years!" like that was a good thing. Well, it's now thirteen years later and I'm feeling just fine, thank you. The reason is that that doctor died within a year or so and I was referred to Dr. King. The very first thing he did was review my entire case including the reasons for my diagnosis. He found that the previous doctor had based his diagnosis solely on the results of one particular test (called a prosticint scan) which was notorious for false positives. Everything else about me shouted "curable" but instead of curing the cancer I was on the slow-it-down path. Dr. King said I should try to cure it, and he got the Tumor Board involved to make sure other experts agreed, which they did. I opted for radiation treatments, and here I am feeling great. If I'd stayed on the pre-King path I'm sure I'd be dead by now. The sad news is that my PSA has been rising recently, so prostate cancer might get me yet. But Dr. King says I have many years before that happens, on top of the thirteen years he already gave me. I am confident I couldn't be in better hands to get the most our of the rest of my life. read more

the other negative review was very accurate. incredibly rude front office staff. unwavering stance on requiring a credit card in case insurance fails to pay for the patient's visit. it's a business requirement - if that is the case, TELL YOUR CLIENTS UP FRONT WITH INTEGRITY. That's the right thing to do. In addition, when I told them everything is covered @ 100% and to just verify with my insurance, they did NOT listen whatsoever. The office is clean and smells fresh each time you walk in. The atmosphere of the office is warm and welcoming. Free gourmet coffee in the waiting room is definitely a plus :) Dr. King is an amazing urologist! They don't call him the president of USNC for nothing. Get in, get out, and get treated. He is always on time with patients. The waiting time is not bad; and Dr.King is usually on time. Dr.King is very knowledgeable. If he doesn't know the answer; he will get back to you with an answer. He will never rush you on your appointment; and will take the time to listen to your problems/concerns. Front office staff are very friendly, helpful, and efficient . They are very approachable for questions. Lab results are followed up within 2-3 days from it's collected date. Courtesy reminder appt calls, the day before your appointment date. They are very understanding, fun, and entertaining. I've never seen a staff in an office so happy and who loves their job. This urology office deserves more than 5 stars. I'd give them 10 stars if it were possible on Yelp. If you are looking for an excellent urologist; Dr. King would be the choice! No regrets! read more

Thank you to Dr. David King for changing my life. I thought that I would have to suffer through my situation for the rest of my life, but miraculously, Dr. King changed all of that. I am forever grateful. As a side note, Dr. King has been quite friendly and very thorough in explaining the entire procedure prior to the surgery. This made me feel very much at ease. In addition, my contact with the front staff has been very pleasant. The office itself is beautifully decorated and creates a peacefulness which is unlike most doctor offices. Appointments are timely and you will rarely wait much longer than five minutes. So, based solely on my experience, I would highly recommend Dr. King for any procedure that you may need. I would say, if you have any questions and/or concerns, just ask. Dr. King will very happily find out the answer for you, if he doesn't have it right away. UPDATED: I'm suffering symptoms of low T and got a count of 370. Dr. King told me this is in the middle of the reference range and therefore there was no need for treatment. Doing some research I found 370 is actually very low for my age group (it would be normal if I were 80 instead of 36), and that the symptoms I'm suffering from, which are severe enough to have made me consider suicide, are *all* classic low T symptoms. So I called back and left a message explaining my finding and asking to discuss this further. Dr. King has ignored two phone calls on the matter and it's now been over a week and half since my first message. That makes him a pretty terrible Dr. and, hell, not a great person when you consider the symptoms I suffer from. UPDATE: Upon seeing another Dr. it seems 370 really is considered within the normal range and that the problem may be related to the T pathways. This doesn't change the fact Dr. King failed to return two phone calls for over a week, but my previous rating (1 star) was overly harsh as he did fix another issue I was there for and did so without resorting to surgery for a condition that potentially could be fixed by surgery, but *may* not require it. So he's also a skilled Urologist. read more

I want to say a huge thank you to Dr King and his staff, Suzie and Rea. 5 stars isn't enough. Dr King has been treating my bladder cancer for several years and has seen me through multiple operations. His care has been excellent and he's very involved with my case. Whether it's cystoscopies, bcg treatments, or operations Dr King is with you every step of the way. I recently moved out of state (Oregon) but still travel back to Calif just to continue with Dr King. I saw one of the top urologists in the Medford Oregon area, part of the Providence Hospital programs, and did not recive anywhere near the level of care or involvment that Dr King provides. The Oregon urologist spent a total of 15 minutes with me and quickly handed me off to her staff. I was treated with BCG treatments in Oregon for 6 weeks and never saw the urologist. With Dr King he is personally involved with my treatments. He and his staff are great people and you really feel like they care about you. read more

I had a fairly minor urology issue but was afraid to deal with it. My primary care physician referred me to Dr. King and I couldn't be more satisfied with the outcome. Dr. King's bedside manner and communication were great. He listened very carefully and explained the various issues very thoroughly. His staff was great. I got in and out on time. When I left today, I felt so much better and soooo much less afraid. I think I'm going to be fine but if I have any more problems, I'm heading right back to Dr. King. :-) read more

i all-ready posted a review however it is not coming up. dr. king is a highly professional physician and ii refer him to everyone who needs a urologist. he is sensitive and when he does a procedure it is not painful. he listens to everything you have to say and is extremely sensitive at the same time. i wish all of my doctors were as good as he is. i've even referred him to my primary care physician who needs a more sensitive doctor. i have never had any problem with anyone in his office.i could not even believe those negative reports which i rad my experence with dr. king and his office staff was great and it's hard to believe those negitive reports are really from dr. king. i even prefer him to the doctor i was seeing at stanford. i think the picture of his office was not nearay as nice as it really appears. dr. king also has a great partner who i saw when i first came to the office. i have been dr. king's patient for at least seven years. i've seen him at least ten times if not more. read more
