View location who dismissed the problem I had, arguing that it didn't exist and it was probably only a UTI. I left that appmt feeling despondent and told my Primary care, who took me seriously and made an immediate referral to Dr. Seufert. If you are looking for someone who is friendly, professional and diligent to find whatever problem you have, he will dig (pardon the pun) deep enough and you will know with certainty what your diagnosis is. He is already referring me for further assessment for an MRI. I was seen due to Red blood cells in my urine lab tests several times, which are not a UTI. The prep time for a cystoscopy and all the questions from the nurse take about 15 mins. but the actual procedure took maybe 5 mins., during which time Dr. Seifert tells you what he is seeing on the monitor. My test involved looking up urethra into the bladder. My close friend who is also my caregiver was able to sit in during the procedure and watch everything on the monitor, which was not visible to me since it was above my head. Since you are covered with sheets, etc. you will still have modesty. Dr. Seufert has excellent bedside manner, and guaranteed to put you at ease! I called again on Wednesday morning and I never got a call back, so I went to El Camino Hospital emergency room, and my stent that Dr. Hwong had just put in durning the surgery simply just came out. I was bleeding, and in pain, and fighting a serious infection caused by the stent. I was hospitalized for 4 days hooked up to Antibiotics thru an IV. Til today Dr. Hwong has never called me to see how I felt after surgery. He's hooked up to the same computer as El Camino Medical he could of check up on my medical records from El Camino Hospital. I also mentioned that, given my age, these symptoms could potentially be related to perimenopause. Since Dr. Mehta was accepting patients both as OB and urologist, I was thinking it makes sense to schedule an appointment with her. The receptionist agreed but requested a referral, even though I have PPO insurance. A few days later, I had to go to urgent care due to worsening kidney stone symptoms, and the ER physician sent a referral to Dr. Mehta as requested. However, when I called the Dr. Mehta office again, the same receptionist informed me that the office could not accept me because kidney stones are not within the doctor's specialty. This was so confusing! As this limitation was not mentioned during my initial call. My suggestion to this practice is to ensure reception staff provide clearer guidance about the doctor's scope of practice, so patients do not spend unnecessary time obtaining referrals and can instead seek care from another provider.
