I'm sorry I didn't post this review of my treatment with Dr. David Posner, MD much sooner, since much was going on in my life in the last few years since I saw Dr. Posner, on March 2019. I had been in past treatment for what had been diagnosed as asthma since 2019 when I was a patient at the Lenox Hill Northwell Medicine Clinic at 178 East 85Th Street, 2nd floor. There I saw various internal medicine RESIDENTS who report to their attending physician supervisors, who put me on Albuterol, and Flovent. I decided to make an appointment with a pulmonologist at my wonderful hospital health care system, namely Lenox Hill Hospital of Northwell Health. Dr. David Posner MD was highly suggested to me and then I did my own research on his qualifications, reviews on multiple sites, Yelp, Healthgrades, Vitals, Google Reviews, etc. Hence, upon meeting Dr. Posner I was amazed at his kindness, bedside manner, and listening skills! I explained all, and he set me up for a lung challenge test among a few other tests, and low and behold, I NEVER HAD ASTHMA NOR COPD!!! Dr. Posner explained all in detail, took his time with me, and is one of the best medical doctors at Lenox Hill Hospital of Northwell Health and their pulmonary clinic on the 3rd floor of 178 East 85Th Street, New York, NY 10028. I was further treated with professionalism by the front desk staff, which is extremely important, and the clinic is beautiful. Dr. Posner will always continue to be my go to pulmonologist at Lenox Hill Hospital of Northwell Health in any future issues regarding any pulmonary issues or questions. Dr. Posner is an excellent doctor and more important a wonderful person. He was thorough and honest. Other doctors could learn from him.

Dr. Posner is a great doctor. He takes his time explaining what, how and why. There's not may doctors that I've seen doing this nowadays. Great "bedside" manner so to speak. I appreciate the fact that if I have a question all I have to do is email him and he responds in a timely manner. Complete incompetence in diagnosing how bad my husband's pneumonia was. My husband who didn't want to go to the hospital should have been sent, determined by Dr Posner. The inability to put him in the hospital and then try and blame me indicates that Dr Posner should retire since it is obvious he has no accountability for a patient's outcome because of his poor decision. I trusted him because he was a Dr. My husband ended up five weeks on oxygen and then died. Dr Posner did show us the scan that indicated the tumor shrank. My husband did not die of that tumor. He died of pneumonia a result of immunotherapy which can happen. Dr Posner should have admitted him to the hospital. He might have had a chance then. Not sent him home. At all. And what nerve to attempt to blame me. read more

I haven't see nor spoken with Dr. Posner in at least 7 years. But my time with him lives with me every day. He literally saved my life. I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis during a time when little was known about the disease. Rather, most medical professionals were not well versed on how to treat this disease. By all graces I ended up with Dr. Posner, who did not rush to pump me up with debilitating medicines. He kept my medicinal dosage intake extremely low and would work on a timeline to take me completely off. This is the part that saved my life!!! I know that my condition would have worsened if I fell into the hands of a doctor who'd rather move me along, traditionally, with drugs, while I had coverage. Instead of strong drugs, he taught me how to take care of myself, recognize my symptoms, and how to treat them without panicking. I am forever indebted to this man and his love for his craft. He goes above and beyond for his patients. He loves his craft and it shows. Anyone who is lucky enough to be treated by him, please just keep calm, trust and follow his direction, and lastly, know that when things are bad he will do EVERYTHING in his power to make it all better!!! Kind,warm ,understanding ,caring ......Dr Posner had seen my mother that had a very rare infection in her lungs..... Most Drs just look at a chart to remember why your even there . I highly recommend him ...... read more

I wish I wasn't moving from the NYC area, because I doubt I will find a doctor as empathetic and diligent as Dr. Posner. I spent over a year dealing with chronic allergies, sinus problems, and a chronic cough. Four separate ENTs and two allergists could not identify what was triggering my allergies. They all prescribed me powerful steroids, but could not tell me what was wrong with me. I was continually told that I should just take the medication, and that my health was, otherwise, "perfect". None could understand that, as somebody who led and active life, not being able to breathe and always feeling sick was distressing, to say the least. A major coughing fit led to my airway closing one afternoon, and it led me to seek out a pulmonologist. Dr. Posner was the first to listen. He recognized that my history (a young female athlete suddenly unable to walk up a flight of stairs) was atypical, he arranged for several tests, and diagnosed me with adult-onset asthma. Every step of my diagnosis was reassuring, and Dr. Posner made sure my questions were answered by him directly. After three months of treatment, a follow-up led Dr. Posner to decrease my medications. I am feeling great, and love that he is a doctor who does not over-prescribe medications. To anybody looking for somebody who listens, cares, and explains, look no further than Dr. Posner. I felt safe and respected, and that has restored my faith in the medical community. read more

Dr. David Posner was very patient and explicit in addressing all my questions. He was careful and kind. He is one of a few doctors you would encounter, who actually go out of their ways to pursue best interests of patients. I would recommend him to anyone. It's sad that my insurance is changed and that my new network does not permit me to continue seeking his help. read more

this place is horrible. Doctor and staff have no sympathy for patients. I wouldn't recommend anyone to come here! My appointment was at 4, I was running late because of bad traffic, the doctor refused to see me because I was five mins later than her accepted time, she would only see me by 4:15, I said I will be there by 4:20 because I needed that few extra mins to park my car, and I drove two hours with my three year old daughter in the car, would they please make an exception, they said no, you have to reschedule. I said nevermind, just cancel the appointment and I would never return to this place!! read more

I was a patient of Dr. Posner quite a few years ago. He was really great. Very nice, patient and thorough and took really good care of my needs. I would still be seeing him but unfortunately I am retired now and no longer travel into the City. read more

Dr. Posner is the best -- fantastic! I've seen him off and on over the years due to asthma (just recently re-diagnosed as a little-known condition called PVCM -- crazy) and allergies. He's super-friendly, obviously cares a great deal about his patients and takes his time to make sure you understand everything he's telling you. There are a number of framed magazine covers in the office listing NYC's top doctors -- so it's clear I'm not alone in my positive assesment of him. So, I enthusiastically recommend Dr. Posner to anyone seeking a pulmonologist in New York City! As a postscript, I've seen a few bad doctors in my life -- as well as merely so-so ones -- so I've learned never to take for granted any M.D. I happen to come across who is wonderful at what they do. read more

I have asthma and when I visited Dr. Posner he determined I also had CPOD. Knowing that I am an artist, he proceeded to draw me 2 diagrams showing me the difference. That effort made me laugh. I was diagnosed with MAC (mycobacterium avium complex) by another pulmonologist in NYC. Unhappy with the lack of MAC patients in his practice, I spent 5 days at National Jewish Hospital in Denver getting a proper diagnosis and treatment plan which included a lobectomy, 18 month course of three different antibiotics and 6 months worth of inhaled antibiotics. Dr. Gwen Huitt, one of the most famous infectious disease doctors for MAC, recommended Dr. Posner as the pulmonologist to follow my case locally. I met Dr. Posner ten days post lobectomy and felt comfortable with him the moment we shook hands. He checked his ego at the door and partnered with the National Jewish ID specialist on my care. It soon became apparent that I was in excellent hands. He has an extensive history with MAC patients and his knowledge in the tri-state area is second to none. Additionally, he has a wonderful bedside manner and is unbelievably approachable. Whenever I have a question, I email hm and get an almost immediate response. During our 18 months together, he has led me on a path to being MAC-free. It's obvious that he cares DEEPLY for his patients and their well being. Had I stayed with the previous pulmonologist, I don't believe I would have the quality of life that I have now. I would highly recommend him for his expertise AND his bedside manner which, in my opinion, is extremely important. As an added bonus, his office staff is very efficient and I rarely have to wait any longer than my appointment time to be seen. If I could give Dr. Posner a 1,000 star rating I would. That's how MUCH I think of him! read more

Dr. Posner is great: smart, knowledgeable, caring, and respectful. He is extremely judicious about prescribing and about continuing on medication, so if he tells me to take something, I can trust 1000% that it's necessary. He's also savvy about the cost of medications and procedures, and how to work around insurance BS. I've also had only good experiences with the PAs, nurses, and office staff--I'm very surprised to see the poor review of the office staff, because I've always found them to be super polite and professional.
