I hate seeing reviews based on how she is dressed? Obviously the people who left reviews are more hung up on fashion than they are physical care. For example, when my blood pressure was first taken it was high and she was concerned. I explained that I usually need to do my blood pressure a second time after i have "settled in." Dr. Abrams insisted that I wait 5 more minutes after the physical so that she could get a 2nd blood pressure reading, which turned out just fine! That is someone who is listening to the patient. The office is efficient and the wait is usually minimal compared to a lot of other doctors. She is always on time and if she seems a little rushed, blame that on the medical system who puts ridiculously high standards on the doctors for the number of patients they need to see in a day. Don't hate the player, hate the game. Dr. Abrams has always been there for my family and was at the hospital any time that one of us had been admitted. She is very well know and respected by everyone in the North Shore medical system. Don't know where the bad vibes from these other reviews are coming from, but definitely unwarranted!!!

Empathy, and communication skills are very essential in every profession. Combined with great technical knowledge, they can give you success and happiness in work. Doctor's or Engineer's, a large part of our job involves working with fellow humans. We all have to balance technical and communication skills to serve our customers and employers. Lacking one of these could severely handicap our career aspirations. Also, lacking proper interpersonal skills can slow our career advancements. Dr. Patel is a fine human being who has figured out how to balance. Any conversation with him is full of information that is backed by science, and reasoning. When you visit his clinic, you never doubt his intentions or abilities. You will come to know immediately that working with this doctor is very easy. He is honest. He is trustworthy. He listens to every word. Dr. Patel's office staff compliments him very well. They are willing to go extra mile to help you. For example, On my last day before moving away to another state, I went to the doctors office to pick up my reports. The Indian lady at the counter provided my reports on seeing me, but made an extra effort to make me meet the doctor for 10 minutes one last time, as I was going away. And when the doctor arrived into my room, as I was waiting for him, he asked me how everything was going. I spoke up about my problems, and my future health plans. Apparently, the 10 minutes quick visit turned into 20 minutes. Never ever during that doctor hurried me to see the next patient. All the time I was speaking, he listened carefully, noting down every couple of seconds. Finally when I was done, he explained in details the treatment plan, and asked me check back in case I had any problems anytime.

You have to make an appointment for that and a lot of people don't know this. This is, without a doubt, the worst-run doctor's office we've ever experienced. The front desk…read morestaff is consistently rude and seems unhappy to be there. They don't even know which insurance plans they accept--every one of our claims was incorrectly filed as out-of-network when they were actually in-network. Fixing this has been a major hassle, and despite multiple messages asking for the billing manager to call us back, no one has returned our calls. Instead, we were told that the doctor's wife handles billing, but no one knows when she comes in. We are now receiving final bill notices, yet the office has locked us out of the patient portal due to non-payment, making it impossible to access our records or communicate through that system. When my wife asked how she could reach her doctor or someone who could help, she was told to use the portal--the very one we had been locked out of. All we are trying to do is get them to resubmit these claims correctly as in-network so we can pay the bill and move on. That's it. And yet, we're met with roadblock after roadblock. To top it off, they advertise themselves as a concierge practice, which is laughable. Concierge medicine is supposed to provide premium care, personalized attention, and easy access to the physician and staff. Here, they don't even answer the phone over lunch. Why not stagger lunch breaks like any other service-oriented business instead of shutting down entirely? The final straw was when my wife--who is battling stage 4 cancer--called for the third time to resolve this, only to be scolded for trying to fix a 2024 billing issue in 2025. Unfortunately, we had more pressing matters last year. We're done. As soon as this gets resolved, we'll be finding a new doctor. If you're considering this practice, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
