This all changed today and I want to warn others, not because I think there's a problem with the medical review, but office operations and policy for the office are in a word concerning. When making an appointment, I received a text from the office asking me to "text a screenshot of my medical card" so they could verify coverage. This was extremely disconcerting in an age of identity theft and personal information security breach. Despite this, I complied with the request and informed the office assistant that I would review my concerns with the doctor because this was highly irregular. The office assistant informed me "I truly don't I can do much with just your insurance card. I would need all your medical information." What I was trying to point out wasn't that she would personally do anything with my information, but that the possibility of a patient's information residing on someone's personal smartphone wasn't probably the best policy. I again emphasized that if that information would be lost, the doctor would be liable. Two minutes later, this was followed up by another text, "I will delete the image now that it's in your chart" and that the alternative for sending a screenshot was to drive to the doctor's office prior to my visit as they were trying to save me from an advanced trip. Funny, when I had changed my insurance in the past this was never an issue. I didn't respond to this text and again, complied with the request without further issue. One hour later, I receive a text "after conferring with the office and completing a full cost-benefit analysis - it was decided that perhaps you should find another practice that suits your needs better than Associated Medicine Physicians. We took the liberty of canceling your visit. Be well." I wanted to post this here because it's important for both customer and doctors to understand how serious securing personal information is in today's world. Most data breaches happen not because the original intent of the information by the initial parties was to do something detrimental. Rather, data breaches happen often because those handling it either aren't completely clear about the limits and extent to which the technology their using (assumed deletion) can be used against them by bad actors, or, most common, unintentional transfer of information usually done unknowingly. Regardless It's important to call this out because no one wants to turn on the news or read online they were unintentionally a victim of a data breach. Dr. Levy is a good doctor. However, I'd think twice before sending my personal data via text to an office assistant if I were still a patient with the practice.

I arrived at 1:56 PM--four minutes early--and was told by the receptionist that I was "late" and that the doctor might not see me. She contacted Dr. Anderson Parks, who declined to see me. I respectfully asked if they could check again, explaining that I had taken time off work and had arrived before my scheduled appointment time. A staff member (possibly a nurse or scheduler) came out, and followed up with the doctor, and I was told she would not see me. I was then informed that I was expected to arrive at 1:45 PM for a 2:00 PM appointment. However, this requirement was not clearly communicated to me. I showed proof on my phone of both my scheduled appointment time and my arrival, but the staff still refused to accommodate me. To make matters worse, when I asked to speak with a manager, I was given a contact name and number that turned out to be incorrect. When I called, I was told that no one by that name worked there. I have since filed a complaint with Endeavor Health, and they acknowledged that this situation was handled poorly. I regularly see many doctors and have had positive experiences elsewhere, which made this encounter even more awful. Unfortunately, this was one of the most frustrating and unprofessional medical office experiences I've had. I would not recommend this provider.

I have a ton of family and family friends in medicine so there's always a plethora of knowledge around me; and different opinions. I went on my insurance website and took down bios for about 20 doctors. From there, I vetted them by specialty, location and reviews.I wanted someone personable, who I could relate to, and most importantly- someone smart who knew what they were talking about. I found everything and more in Dr. Daniel. Dr. Daniel is not only smart but she's fantastic at explaining the chemical processes going on in your body. She teaches for Swedish Covenant so she's well versed in all the common questions (that her residents have). She also believes firmly in the osteopathic approach to medicine. That pretty much means she believes in the "whole body" approach instead of just focusing on the body as separate organs. She has an open mind and believes with going with what works. Finally she is personable and encouraging. We talked about random stuff and she made me feel so comfortable. Making an appointment was simple and the office did not feel like a typical medical office. It's located at a former office/administrative building so there is a ton of marble and wall sconces. The staff is really nice as well. Dr. Daniel definitely has your back- and everything else as well.

He told me it felt like he had strep so I wanted to get him in for a strep culture right away since he's leaving for camp this next weekend. Unfortunately, our pediatrician was fully booked for the day so I looked for options for a pediatric immediate care. Admittedly I was a little worried about the negative reviews on Yelp, but figured how hard could a strep culture be. And it ended up being a positive experience. I booked the first appointment of the day online, which was for 10am. I hoped this would prevent us from sitting in a waiting room with a bunch of sick kids on a Monday morning. When we got there we were the only people there. Hurray! I filled out the paperwork on my phone (relatively easy) and then we were called back to see the nurse and then nurse practitioner. The nurse took his temp, vitals and strep test. 10 min later the NP walked in and pronounced him strep free! She said it looked like a cold and gave us some recommendations (rest, fluids, inhaler for his asthma, etc). The whole thing took about 30 min from when we first walked into the office. They are open until 10pm, but told me their Morton Grove office is open until midnight which is good to know since those sick scares often happen late at night.

I also don't really understand how looking inside an ear virtually is supposed to be better than an in-person examination. His receptionist concedes that they receive far more letters and faxes than they have time to read, and messages sent via email or North Shore Connect are completely ignored. She advised that the best way of contacting the office was by telephone. But for me, that was equally problematic. It typically took an average of 3 attempts to get through because the voicemail message would keep repeating, and then when someone finally did answer, they would put me on hold and either forget I was there or else disconnect me. When I was finally able to get through and leave a message for the doctor, he would return my call in 3 days ... 3 weeks ... or not at all. Equally frustrating, whenever I came in for an appointment, the doctor would typically be running 30 ... 60 ... or even 90 minutes behind schedule. The final straw was when I needed Dr. Grinblatt's signature on a medical form. To expedite things, I hand-delivered it to his office. He was busy with a patient but the receptionist assured me it would be taken care of. It was not. "I never saw the form!" he insisted. So, I made a special trip to his office to deliver the paperwork and a postpaid envelope a SECOND time. Once again the doctor was busy, so I handed it to his nurse and explained the situation. But the second set of forms mysteriously vanished, too. This is no way to run a medical practice.
