Pretty in Pink!!! Ever since I tried the macrons that David Ramirez created, I have been spoiled. Delightfully surprised to find myself in a business plaza and find David Ramirez Chocolates. The outside screams for photo ops with pretty pink tables and chairs with umbrellas for shade. Inside, to the left, pretty seating and more opportunity for pics. To the right, the glass display case with the delicious offerings. There are decadent chocolates of all shapes and flavorings. Beautiful and elaborate small cakes and tarts that look too pretty to eat but are delicious!! Then there are my macrons, so many flavors, pistachio, chocolate, chewy caramel, raspberry, honey vanilla bean and creme brulee, red velvet and so many more. These macrons melt in your mouth, and every flavor hits all the right spots of your taste buds. Oh, and they are now serving pastries & croissants, they were mostly sold out of those, but what I did see looked yummy! The service and attention are amazing. Incredible gourmet desserts! This hidden gem does not get the notoriety it deserves. I had the most delicious crème brûlée pastry I've ever desired and I'm constantly thinking about it. Obsessed!! Their coffee is great! The mocha pairs perfectly with their chocolates. You can get them in cute boxes to be given as gifts. I had a passion fruit flavored one that really blew my mind. The strawberry cheesecake macarons is my favorite! Cute little chairs to sit inside or outside. Service is friendly. And the owner, Chef David Ramirez is such a sweet and honest man. I got the opportunity to speak with him and I feel good about supporting his business. I definitely recommend coming here for desserts and supporting local over purchasing a mass production product from Walmart or such. read more

We were able to taste a sample of their macarons and chocolates at a Yelp event. So when we found out their store is actually not that far from us, we went to check it out. We tried the orange cream, chocolate, strawberry cheesecake, vanilla bean, smores, chocolate hazelnut macarons and they were all delicious. They have so many flavors to choose from and they're all amazing, not too sweet. The same with the chocolates they all tastes great! These are my new favorite chocolates. Every chocolate is unique and delicate looking but packed with flavor. On my last visit I tried the cookies and cream, peanut butter and jelly and lemon blueberry. Award winning chocolates just down the street from my house? Yes - I was so thrilled to try their sweets. They have been there 10 years, how could I not have stopped here before? This is my new happy place. I inherited a dessert gene and it is in my DNA to seek out sweets - Thank you Grannie. I have tried a lot of chocolates from Austria, France, Germany and the UK. But popping a few of these into my mouth on a Monday morning was heaven. Do you remember Snuffles the cartoon dog from Quickdraw McGraw? Upon chomping on a treat, he would hug himself in ecstasy, jump into the air and float back down, sighing. That was me tasting one of these chocolates. I tried the passion fruit, chocolate mint and a cute little gingerbread man macaroon. They had a busy black Friday weekend but still had a good selection of chocolates and macaroons to choose from. They say you eat first with your eyes and these chocolates have beautiful colors and shiny soft coatings. I also got a latte to wash it all down and that was made to order and good. This store is located on Central Florida Parkway between John Young and Orange Blossom Trail but is closer to OBT. It is located in a strip mall along with other offices and businesses. You can spot this location by the large sign on the building and al fresco tables out front. Inside they have a counter to sit at where you can watch them work and also inviting couches to relax and tantalize all your senses including smell, sight, sound and of course taste. The owner and chef was there along with his co-owner wife. If you take a look at the Yelp business information you will see he shared a lot about his passion for chocolates and the awards they have won for their efforts. The staff was friendly and helpful when I was overwhelmed with choices. They did not rush you and took the time to ask how you were doing and made you feel comfortable by sharing what they liked best. For reading all the way to the end I will tell you they have a little covered sample tray in front of the coffee machine. You see my gingerbread man macaroon was a free sample. SWEET! read more

Awesome chocolates especially the truffles - I am a true chocoholic and enjoy fine chocolate. I recommend you get a 12 piece or larger sampler to truly appreciate David's work - I have traveled the world and sampled many fine chocolates and his are on par with the very best. I actually met David Ramirez last Friday at his Central Florida Parkway location. My brother lives in the area and we stay at The Grande Lakes resort regularly. I have been meaning to stop in to sample his chocolates and I'm sorry I didn't do it sooner. David had just created a new breakfast pastry the day I was there which he provided me with a sample that was awesome ‼ he starts with a round croissant that is his own special recipe topped with sprinkled cheese, ham and an egg - was one of the best breakfast pastries I have ever tasted. I've been trying to come here for awhile. But life kept interupting my plans. I finally got to go and was disappointed. I'm really conflicted by this review. On the one hand the chocolate I ate was good. But on the other hand my experience here was a lot worse than what others have described. I came early in the week of valentines day. I was the only customer inside at the time. The shop had a lot of workers busy making sweets. But as far as things to buy they had very little. I could barely find enough chocolates I liked to fill a 6 piece box. My plan was to get significantly more. But they had 0 macaroons and about a dozen different chocolates. I don't know if they had a particularly big order or a super busy weekend. But they sure didn't have much in stock when I arrived. From the few chocolates they had several of them weren't even labeled. All in all the chocolates I had were tasty. But the store did not have very much available. The woman working there was very friendly and helpful. But sadly they just didn't have very much available. read more

Delicious treats! I found this place completely by accident and am so glad I did. The chocolates are out of this world! Yes, they are expensive but you really get what you pay for. I don't like macarons so I can't speak to those but every single piece of chocolate I've had here is absolutely delicious. This review is solely for the chocolates as that is the only thing i have tried. For some back story...I happen to have been at Disney Springs because a friend visited me from overseas and stumbled upon The Ganachery chocolatier store. $15 for 6 pieces were pretty pricy but once i tried them, so worth it. So now here we are at David Ramirez Chocolates. 12 pieces for $20 seems like a really good deal compared to The Ganachery prices. I thought I was finally able to eat some gourmet chocolates at more decent prices....not at all. The best way i can describe Ramirez chocolates is fancy supermarket chocolate. I thought, before having tried Ramirez chocolates, that even if they tasted a little bit worst than The Ganachery chocolates that it would still be worth it. Not at all. The taste is not at the price they are charging. This is nothing more than an imitation of gourmet chocolates. I would actually give this a 2.5 score but i cant put half stars in yelp and i think 3 stars out of 5 is too much based solely on the chocolates they sell. This review is not written with ill intentions. I do honestly hope that Ramirez chocolates improve upon their products as the more competition the better it is for us consumers. read more

I've see this place near my house, and just finally got a chance today to stop in for a visit. Met a friend there for coffee, and was impressed with the coffee and the amazing chocolates they have on display. One of the owners is apparently a well known pastry chef and chocolatier who has competed internationally and even been on some of the Food Network challenges. They have some incredible looking chocolates on display, but since I am going in tomorrow for blood work, decided that today might not be the best time for me to fill up on chocolates and sugar! They provide chocolates to some of the upscale hotels in the area and even ship them to other parts of the country. I had a simple espresso, made with Lavazza coffee - very smooth and strong. Not sure what my friend got, but he also commented on how smooth the coffee tasted. There is a small bar where we sat and chatted for a few hours, with no pressure to buy more or leave. Place is very clean and comfortable, and is very much a working-kitchen atmosphere. Not very busy, but they are newly opened, so I expect business to pick up. Will definitely go back when I can try some of the chocolates... probably not good that this place is so close to my house! ---- Update - I went back today with my wife and son, AFTER my blood work, and we bought chocolates and coffee. Exceptionally smooth cappuccino for me, and an iced latte with salty caramel for my wife. And the chocolates? Well, let's just say that we'll be spending a lot more time (and money) here. I tried a variety of chocolates from David Ramirez Chocolates. I tried a strawberry cheesecake chocolate, a bacon and peanut butter chocolate, a salted caramel chocolate, and a crunchy almond brownie chocolate. All of the chocolates were absolutely beautiful. The flavor were not quite as refined as some other boutique chocolates I have tried (Coco Sala in DC, chocolats latour in Cincinnati). Overall the chocolates are absolutely beautiful and definitely worth a stop. read more

First visit. We hand-selected a dozen pieces, and all so far are excellent. The problem with our visit is that the young person who helped us pick out the pieces did not know the product. I repeatedly told her we only wanted dark ganache, and she said she'd tell us if any we selected were not, but when we got home I found 3/4 of them were white ganache inside. I noticed she looked at the bottom of each, so maybe she thought the color related to the filling. Really disappointing. So: 5/5 for product, and 1/5 for service. read more

A hunt for delicious chocolate led me to David Ramirez Chocolates in Central Florida. I have to say it was well worth it too. I had read about Pastry Chef Ramirez online and knew he is responsible for the confections at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort and he had this chocolate shop on the side. My iPhone lead me to a small space 5 minutes south of the Florida mall at what was pretty much a working space for Ramirez and his crew. I open the door into their chocolate shop and it was as if the music stopped and everyone looked at me. Not used to foot traffic I guess. But once Ramirez greeted me it was a fantastic experience. He guided me through his lovely display of flawlessly decorated artisan chocolates. I was even lucky enough to taste the freshly completed pistachio chocolate, which is still one of my favorites. Here are the ones I took home with me that day (honestly they didn't all make it home) : Raspberry peanut butter, cinnamon cayenne, banana strawberry cheesecake, hazelnut crunch, key lime dark, passion fruit, coffee, and another pistachio. They are jam-packed with flavor, each so different and special in their own right. As we discussed, these beauties are reserved for those who prefer quality over quantity. Wow! I mean, really WOW! I bought 3 boxes of assorted chocolates here as holiday gifts. I was looking for really good chocolates to give out, and thanks to the other Yelp reviews I came here. My wife was kind enough to share a bite of each of her chocolates with me and I can say without hesitation that these are the BEST chocolates I've ever had! I enjoy good chocolates but I'm no chocolate snob so I'm sure there is probably better out there (although maybe not in Orlando). But I can say without any reservation that these chocolates beat the pants off of the chain places like Godiva and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Price-wise I'd say that they are about on par with the big chains too. Each piece was like an individually crafted work of art. I will definitely be returning for more. read more

The chocolates are little works of art and the German chocolate macaroon is by far the best macaroon I've ever had! I've tried macaroons 3 or 4 times from other shops and have always been underwhelmed, so I told my husband if this one wasn't tasty I would give up trying them.
