I requested a very specific recreation of another cake I saw online but with a heart shape to it and they did NOT disappoint! The cake was enormous, beautiful and I got so many compliments on it the night of my Birthday! The cake itself was also delicious, VERY heavy on the buttercream, which I'm a huge buttercream fan so I was very happy with that. The lady at the bakery was very sweet when I picked up the cake and also very helpful, offering to help me take the cake out even though I declined. We ordered Strawberry, Wedding cake, birthday sprinkles and all of the cupcakes were extremely dry. Couldn't even finish them. I'm pretty sure Smallcakes are supposed to be fresh baked daily. Cupcakes, cookies, and milkshakes! This fun little place is amongst a group of shops in a mixed use building; businesses on the street level and residential stacked above. There is parking in front of the shops but it is limited so be ready to follow the signs to park on the bottom floor of the structure behind the building then follow the signs to get to the shops. There are a few tables inside this shop if you choose to sit and enjoy your treats. I purchased two cupcakes which myself and a friend shared later. But while I was in the shop I sat and enjoyed a milkshake. I forget how many flavors of ice cream they have to choose from but not many; maybe eight? I chose strawberry lemonade ice cream to make my milkshake. It wasn't the best choice but I liked it "okay". The lemon tasted sweetly artificial as did the strawberry flavored candy sprinkles. I bet any other flavor would have worked better as a shake. But the cupcakes were excellent. How do they make them this moist?! The two flavors I chose were Lemon Drop and Chocolate Eclair. The former was white cake with sweet lemon filling and the latter was chocolate cake with a vanilla cream center. Wowza! I experienced great customer service here. The cake was moist and fluffy. The frosting was thick and creamy. It was buttercream and not whipped, and it held up to the cake. Logistics: Parking is tough. We ended up trying two types of cupcakes, a chocolate chip cookie sandwich, and a chocolate chip bar. Everything was delicious, though my personal fav was the chocolate chip bar. The other items go a bit heavy on the frosting for me, but that is an easy fix. You can just scrape some off as needed to suit your tastes, and in my opinion better too much than not enough!
