I hesitated to post something critical of a small business, but this ultimately felt too important not to share. It's really hard to find someone who does curly cuts well, and I was so happy that my first experience with Adrian went so well! I live in Marin, about an hour from B Hair Love, but I didn't hesitate to book again. Unfortunately, the day of my second appointment, I got a text from Adrian just half an hour before it was scheduled for, telling me he was sick and needed to cancel. I was already on my way and had ordered dim sum to get a quick bite before the appointment. Despite my frustration about the late cancellation, it no longer made sense for me to drive the rest of the way just to get my lunch, and I offered that Adrian could pick up the pre-paid meal I had ordered. I know how miserable it feels to be sick and saw this as an opportunity to extend a kind as a gesture of support. I heard nothing back (even to say no thanks). The next day Adrian offered me an appointment for later that week, which I accepted, and again drove into SF. When I got to the salon, it was locked up and dark. I called multiple times, and texted, but didn't hear back. 10 minutes later, Adrian responded and had completely forgotten about our appointment. How much did NOT getting my haircut cost? + $50 in mileage + $19 in Golden Gate Bridge tolls + $30 in dim sum (not picked up) ---- = $99 + 4 hours of my time Oh, and I still had to find someone else to cut my hair (booked weeks out). I do hope that others have a better and more professional experience than I did, but needless to say, I've taken my business elsewhere. He really tries to understand what you want, and clearly expresses how he understands it and what he will do. This is one of my favorite qualities in a human in general, and it's especially great when it's someone cutting your hair. 2. He seems to really love what he does. I think the services I appreciate the most are those performed by people genuinely passionate about performing them, and Glenn easily fits this. If you're hair isn't healthy enough for bleaching, he'll come up with a alternative to make your hair beautiful and healthy, and he's very careful with the cut - he does't try to do some super crazy cut to be trendy - he really thinks about what will work for you as an individual. He always brings his A game. I don't know how he does it, but he always makes sure to cut and color my hair so that it grows out looking great. I've had mid length and short cuts, I've had highlights, lowlights, balayage, and dare I say it ... gray coverage. Long story short, the best haircut I ever got was from AC back at the very beginning of their career in SF. I've been chasing that "perfect bangs" dragon ever since. I actually screwed up my appt time (sorry!). Despite my mistake, AC was able to squeeze me in the next day so my giant trip wasn't all for nothing. (Thank You!) It was a great experience just like my first visit with AC, I felt warmly welcomed. I particularly enjoyed that there was a dog or two there just hanging out. Give yourself ample time to find parking (not easy withing 3 blocks of the studio) or park somewhere a little further and easier and take a waymo, cab, lyft, or homobiles the rest of the way. I found it easy to kill time by visiting The Wave Organ near Crissy Field before my appt (only 5 mins away). It was also a particularly hot day so by the time I parked and got to the studio, I was out of breath and sweating. As bedraggled as I was, I was warmly welcomed and offered a seat and some water immediately. AC must have kissed the Blarney Stone at some point because they are blessed with the gift of the gab. We had an enthralling conversation while they were working on my hair. Ask AC for some cool facts about hair. You won't be disappointed! It was such a pleasure to dialogue with them for an hour. They made me feel comfortable, heard, understood, and appreciated. Often times it can be intimidating for a tomboy like me to show up in a fancy hair place. The queer vibe was so welcoming. What a beautiful safe space to laugh, chat, pet dogs, feel pretty, and truly feel welcomed. Worth every minute of traveling 300 miles and buying 2 nights of hotel.

This hairdresser really cares about cutting your hair to fit you in everyway. The salon is hip and cool and chill.
