She didn't check every place and seemed to take great stock in the fact that I had a mole exam within the last 3 years. The entire thing took 4 minutes. I asked about further procedures and pricing... of course, she has no idea. However, I recently had several rude dermatologists and this doctor was perfectly polite. It also showed up on my mass general patent gateway which is helpful for records and billing.

I wasn't planning to revisit her in a year to get less and less of a cream I needed either. Then she recommended some so called experts and even called one up to contact me, without my permission. She hadn't even given me the name of the dermatologist. I'm not going to go, because she might be the same sort of dermatologist as this one.

She quickly took a couple of photos, prescribed 4% hydroquinone, and told me to come back in two months. That was pretty much it--it felt rushed. At the follow-up, it seemed like she hadn't even reviewed my chart. When I mentioned that the area still looked red and brownish and I was concerned, she became unexpectedly rude and defensive. I also told her the hydroquinone was irritating my skin, and she just said, "Okay, then stop using it," with no further guidance or alternatives. It really felt like she just wanted to end the conversation rather than actually help. Afterward, I looked through more reviews and saw that several people mentioned getting burned from laser treatments with her, which made me wonder if that's why she got so defensive--despite the fact that my burn wasn't even from her.
