I had a Jeep that suddenly lost power. My regular mechanic went out of business so I thought I'd give these guys a try. They fixed a broken vacuum hose and and cleaned the air intake body. David and Sons in Cape Coral is "The best there is"..None better..Sons Mike and Andrew handled a complex list of repairs on my Ford Taurus Wagon like it was a "Walk in the park" and as a bonus..for less $$ than other shops quoted..And they actually did one small repair at no charge!! Who does that?? David and Sons does!! I was referred to this shop by a family member and thought I would give them a try. I only needed routine maintenance and other small services, but I received service of low quality and was totally disappointed. I even brought my own parts and was charged as much as going to a Dealership. After the work was done, I noticed several screws put back incorrectly or missing, the fuse box was left unclipped and the air box had a broken missing clip. I even found tools left under the hood when I got home. The workmanship was very unprofessional and I will never go back or refer them to anyone. I may be an isolated incident but get more real referrals not just the good ones posted here. read more

I just picked up my car from David and this is the second time I've needed something done. David and Sons shows you the broken parts and goes through what went wrong and why. Instead of replacing an entire malfunctioning A/C compressor like most others do, they looked deeper and figured out what piece was causing my particular issue. They saved me about $1,000.00 compared to my dealer. I would bring my Mercedes or any other car here any time. They are honest and hard working. It is with great regret that I write this review because as a Christian I always thought another Christian brother would be honest & do the right thing. My adopted mother trusted in them and spent thousands of dollars taking her car there for repairs on a few occasions but every time I would visit her & check her car or drive her car I quickly realized that things weren't done correctly & her car was worse than before. I went to the owner and expressed my concerns but all I got was explanation after explanation. I don't think he realized that being a mechanic for many years myself that I knew he was just giving a bogus story of why the repairs had been done a certain way. Now I would like to give David the owner the benefit of the doubt but if its not his negligence or lack of expertise then I can only explain it as fault of his son not knowing or not caring about what they are doing & the owner is just not checking their work. Either way after much prompting I convinced my mother to take her car into another shop for a second opinion and just like I had suspected they had not replaced certain parts with brand new ones but with other used or faulty ones & the wheel alignment was not properly done causing myself to almost side swipe another car when I drove it. The new shop corrected the alignment & installed new correct parts & now I feel confident my mother is safe to drive the car again. I'm saddened because I gave the shop the opportunity to come clean & correct the problem but all they kept saying was that there was nothing wrong with the alignment or parts even though I had almost crashed into another car because the car would not track straight and was all over the road at normal traffic speeds. I felt the need to share my unfortunate experience with them because I do not wish for others to put their lives or their loved ones lives at risk because of the negligence of others shoddy work and questionable work ethics. read more
