One of my teeth became such a problem that all of a sudden, I needed to find a dentist fast! Not only was I lucky to find someone close that could see me quickly, but it ends up that every visit since has been just great. The office staff is helpful and friendly, the hygienists are caring, and the doctor is really fun and just happens do amazing work! Even when I was super nervous, the doctor and his staff were able to help me through it all with no problems! The office staff helped me navigate my insurance coverage even though doing so was a troublesome and tricky process. I ran into an issue with my supplemental insurance and when I needed to obtain information from the office, it was a matter of continuing to follow up with them to make sure I eventually got what I needed. Now that my problem teeth have been taken care of, I can focus on preventative care. It is such a good feeling to know that if I do have any serious needs down the road, I can trust that I will receive the quality of work I need, all while sitting in a comfy chair!

Warm Springs Dental are crooks…read more I had an appointment in March, so I emailed them in February and asked them if I had valid insurance with them. They replied in writing that I do have coverage, so I went to the appointment. Now a week after the appointment, they call me out of the blue and tell me that my insurance ended last December, even though they admit they told me it was still valid in February, and they are not offering any adjustments or assistance even though it was their error. They also spoke to my former insurance on the phone and made some insulting and belittling comments about me.

It's across the board too: from the primary dentist, to the hygienist, to the frontdesk (it all starts at the top though, so I'm not surprised that it's systemic). I went in for a routine checkup after moving to a new area. I'd had a previous checkup with a great dentist just six months ago, where I had been receiving regularly scheduled cleanings. I asked Boones Ferry Dental for a routine exam and cleaning, and they proceeded to tell me that I needed to do extensive deep cleaning (that would be almost $2k dollars more, with a customer out of pocket of almost $250 for me). They were making statements that I had severe "disease of the gums", that I was imminently in danger of potentially losing a tooth, and that it would be unethical of them to give me just a standard cleaning. Doing this more expensive deep cleaning would also have to be over the course of 2 more additional visits. I explained to them that I couldn't take that much time away from work, but offered to come in over the holiday break to do the deeper cleaning and would prefer a regular cleaning now. They refused to work with me. I called my previous dentist, and he said that this was extremely bizarre behavior and that I should seek out another dentist in the area. Boones Ferry Dental still charged my insurance for an exam despite refusing me service on actually cleaning my teeth, so now I'll need to seek out another opinion and likely deal with insurance consequences of another exam. I'd never have gone to Boones Ferry Dental had I know that they were interested in bullying customers through intimidation tactics to get them to spend more money - perhaps they're hurting for business, but this strikes me as an unethical way to do business and treat customers. At the very least, it is clear that they don't value my time, they don't actively listen, and they're not interested in building a long term relationship with me as a customer. There are 20+ other dentists in the nearby area: do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

I was upset and called to see if they could see me last minute late Friday afternoon, and they were closing the office for the weekend. I always have the worst timing! So I scheduled for Monday morning and got off the phone. Probably sixty seconds later I received a call back, they ended up staying late just to help me out. I can't tell you how much it meant to me that they went through all of that trouble to help me out, and were so nice about it! Up until about 6 months ago everything was great. Until they started pushing this treatment on my for my pre-periodontal disease that costs thousands of dollars out of pocket that insurance DOES NOT pay for. I work hard for my health insurance. They were asking at least 50% out of pocket to even begin the treatment. This is something that with my wages I could not afford. And in this world we live in I couldn't even save for at this point. The dentist even came in at one point to take a look at my teeth. Gave me crap about not wanting to the the treatment because I can afford it and said "well hopefully she doesn't mind loosing her teeth" and walked out.... Awful. Two routine cleanings happened and I was due for a deep cleaning but they would not schedule it unless I committed to this treatment I couldn't afford. After my last cleaning I received a letter in the mail from the dentist that they no longer wanted me as a patient. It's a shame. After speaking to several other dentist offices about this experience they all said that this treatment is only a temporary fix and a lot of places get commission off of this treatment if their patients elect to do it.

Update 3/19/24: I had an infection in my gums and so I called the day it reared it's ugly head and Dr. Hoffman's staff got me in same day just a couple of hours after I called. Talk about quick caring service! After an xray showed the tooth was fine, Dr. Hoffman numbed the gums (fairly pain free) and cleaned out the infection and here it is 3 days later I'm back to normal. Once again this office was friendly, kind, caring, and efficient! Love them all! Update 6/28/24: Just went in for my cleaning this week and once again they were very thorough, not only doing a painfree cleaning, but checked on my gums that were infected back in March; letting me know the pocket was still kind of deep, but clean. And to spend a little more time on that area when I brush, floss, and water pick to help the gum tissue to adhere better to my tooth. I love when they explain why I should do something that makes sense medically as well as being explained so I understand. The front desk was also thorough with letting me know they'll bill my insurance and that I had a balance all done with a smile and some friendly chatting making me feel comfortable with the professional side and treating me like a person not a "client". I truly look forward to seeing the staff of this dental office, as I'm always relaxed and treated with so much kindness!

I was appalled by her tone, her threat as though they're entitled to have clients choose them even if they have to pay out of pocket. On my most recent visit, I was very nervous as I had to remove my mask for the cleaning my hygienist, Shannon, explain how they would keep me and others safe and that she was wearing a mask and a shield to aid in protecting me. They also have ceased using the polishing machines they typically use as those spread aerosols which we are all trying to avoid right now. They do this by hand now. All in all a great cleaning during a world health crisis. I'll definitely be back I hope I will have had the vaccine by then.

I can truly say that I feel Dr. Nolan cares about me as a patient and a person. I am squeamish when it comes to pain, so going to the dentist has never been my favorite thing to do. I had some work done by Dr. Nolan and never felt any discomfort. I also have 4 children who have all had work done with Dr. Nolan. Not one tear. He let them know what was going on the whole time.
