We had a part shear off inside our front door deadbolt that rendered it inoperative, trapping us inside. :-( Once I took it apart I realized I didn't want to replace the deadbolt (causing us to rekey the entire house) and needed a locksmith. David the Locksmith looked good and we called him. After looking at pictures we texted him, he knew exactly which parts to bring. He correctly identified our deadbolt as Sargent (not typical in residential) and he put in a new Schlage deadbolt but used a Sargent lock so our old key continued to work! Showed up in a mask, promptly slotted us into a time that miraculously opened up, and did great work quickly, in a professional manner, and at a VERY reasonable price. I don't really know what I can add that hasn't been said previously. Working with David the Locksmith (he's a locksmith, I don't think "the Locksmith" is his legal last name), was an all around great experience. The wife and I decided to try to replace the handles in our front door of our new home (goodbye, 90s brass!) and... well, it got ugly. We hit a point of frustration around midnight a couple nights ago and decided to look for a locksmith. I got my first reply from David around 3 AM (wow) and after a few more Q&A so he could understand the situation, we scheduled a time. He was prompt (even offered to come a little early), friendly, and the work was great. Price seemed completely fair for the time & quality of work he did and we're super happy with the output. David was awesome, quick, tried to save me money, spent time giving me security advice, just awesome experience. I needed a locksmith to come out and re-key all the doors in my house that day. That is a bunch of locks when you include the additional deadbolt on a few doors, not to mention short notice. I called a couple of brick and mortar places, no answer so I turned to Yelp to find someone. I saw the page for David and it looked too good to be true, so many 5 stars and a smattering of 5 star reviews from people who had done only one review. I read all of the reviews, looked up the people who had a larger number of reviews, they looked legit so I called him. (look at my reviews, they may be poorly worded with bad spelling, but I'm a real reviewer) David answered my call on the second ring, asked me what I was looking for and gave me a quote on the spot. I've used other locksmiths for this and other things before and his quote was really a really good price. I mentioned that my wife was thinking about a keyless lock on the front door and he offered to pick one up at home depot on his way over. I don't believe he stocks a bunch of stuff, it's just him and his van, but I can buy something at the Home Depot for the best price and have him just charge me for installation. I'd say that's a great deal. David did the job very quickly, he offered a couple of times to do things that would save me money. For example I had one door that was keyed differently than all the others and he told me that we could just leave that one alone and I'd save money. He didn't have to do that. He also spent some time helping me figure out what I might do for added security etc. I'd have one piece of feedback, and his has nothing to do with his service, and that is the unmarked van. If I was him, I'd have my business name or at least "Locksmith" on the side of the van to identify it. Spooks you the first time you see it parked in your driveway (but NOTHING to worry about after you meet him, just feedback) All in all a great experience and I won't use anyone else if he is available. At first , I thought "David" was a total jerk. I emailed him based on the many Yelp reviews, and it took most of the evening for him to get back to me via email. He reported that , " he was slammed all weekend but could be at my home maybe Sat. afternoon around 3". I waited patiently thru most of Sat., (SeaFair weekend), with my irritation building. Reached out to him and was honest about my irritation and stress and he responded like a champion. Ok, now i get the Yelp reviews praising his service and awarding him 5 stars! David must have heard the annoyance in my voice because he really went above and beyond to help me solve my issues with my locks that had become unusable because of their age and the extreme heat we were experiencing . Despite having a slammed day , David offered me his assistance to diagnose the problem. After literally sitting there on the phone while I removed both my lock and door plate, he then diagnosed the issues for FREE (using photos), and let me know what my options were from a price standpoint. Couldn't say enough good things about this honest, kick- ass professional. He walked me thru my lock issues so that i might be able to handle them myself for less money . Wow! I don't think I have ever had any service professional offer to assist me via phone- diagnosing and fixing my problem,all for FREE!!! A very reliable locksmith, he was at our house quite late in the night to help unlock our garage door. It was a super quick fix - I'm sure he made it look super easy. Only gripe was that he didn't give us any discount given the time taken to do his work - he spent at best 2 minutes with the locked door and unlocked it. I'd hire him again if in a pinch, but learnt the lesson the hard way - keep extra copies of all keys in a reachable place! read more

This guy is for real. Honest, competent and a great communicator. We had lost the keys to our back door (always use the garage) and needed to give the family a set of keys. We told David the lock was manufactured in Italy and I was not comfortable disassembling this lock. He quoted the price and we set the date. When he began working David determined he needed to remove the entire mechanism to cut a new key. An hour and 20 minutes later he was done. The key and lock work wonderfully AND the price quoted did not change. Don't be put off by the fact his location is Redmond. David will travel and meet at a time best for you. (Of course, that's when our mailbox lock would decide to reject our keys.) My washer had "walked" out of position from a overloaded spin cycle and blocked my doorway entry. There was no other way to get in a part from calling in a locksmith to help me get back into my laundry room. Loved the service. I did not have to pay much attention but David was done rekeying three deadbolt locks faster than I had anticipated. Earlier, I had to give an extra push when locking my front door because of misalignment. David happily readjusted/filed the strike plate on the door frame to make it much smoother for no extra charge. I have never written a Yelp review before, but after David was so helpful I felt compelled to sign up just so I could. We had an emergency situation with a 2-year old daughter who was accidentally locked in. I am usually in the habit of carefully researching potential businesses, but unfortunately, in my haste, David wasn't the first I called. Another guy I had called just minutes earlier was already on the way and I felt that I couldn't do much about it. David could have left it at that and continued on his way, but he cared about our situation and called back later to follow up and ensure we were being taken care of -- even BEFORE we were a customer! The "other guy" turned out to be incompetent (and likely a scammer). He said the lock couldn't be picked and wanted to "drill the lock" which would have ended up costing more than $200 -- and DOUBLE the advertised trip fee! I sent him packing and called David back. He literally "dropped everything" to come help us within minutes. It was a tough call because he had another customer to take care of too, but he took the risk to interrupt his other job to come and help us because it was a real emergency (*and* he even ended up keeping his other client happy as well). He picked TWO locks on the door within MINUTES and we had a happy and relieved mom and little girl. His bill? $65. (I didn't realize this until later, but he could have charged more because of the additional lock.) I have read the other reviews here and cannot agree with them more. David is an AWESOME stand-up man of integrity! I have already recommended him to my friends and family because guys like David deserve to succeed. GO DAVID!
