Went to see Dr. Weeks since my doctor was fully booked and could not see me. A piece of plywood would have shown more empathy and patient care. His medical student took my vitals and Dr. Weeks barely spoke 10 words. He never spoke directly to me or to my advocate who was with me (I have a hearing problem) but rather through his student. I thought that physicians who go into Internal Medicine and Family Practice as specialties do so because they want to earn patient's trust and establish relationships. I did not do my research before going to him for my Annual exam, this was a big mistake. Another reviewer said that he was ripped off: Annual exam ripoff - beware! I could say the exact same thing he said, 10 minutes and a Bill for $233, the accounting dept says you discussed many items with him, well he asked and i answered, he said you are overweight, no discussion on what my weight should be or any of his concern, but, this question apparently made the visit a weight concern visit and coded as such so that my insurance does not pay it, nice, had i known my bill will go up based on my answers, i will have said no need to talk about it, hence a waste of an annual exam, go somewhere else folks this is not a caring and patient centered place. read more

I have been feeling sick for two weeks, so i made an appointment with the first doctor that could see me at ARC Far West. Dr. David Weeks. I don't think he even spent three minutes in the room with me. Listened to my chest, looked at my throat, said i needed more bloodwork, asked what pharmacy I used, told me I was free to go and walked out. Um. Ive been sick for two weeks. I had questions. I have symptoms. Um, i work in retail. Did someone want to do a covid test? I taste blood in fhe back of my throat, im fatigued, i am dizzy, i feel like shit. And Dr. Weeks says "you're free to go"?????????? Don't go to this doctor. read more

My entire experience at ARC was crappy, and while it's not all Dr. Weeks' fault, he certainly didn't help. I needed to see a specialist for an elbow injury, and ARC's nurse practitioner on call suggested I see a GP so he can order up some x-rays or other pertinent tests. Despite my skepticism, I booked the appointment. Fast forward to this morning: 15 minutes of waiting in various lines, lobbies, and rooms (not bad compared to the norm at ARC, actually!), and Dr. Weeks shows up and spends a mere 2 minutes evaluating me. Doesn't even prompt me for a history of the arm or any detailed questions, so I have to do the leg work in telling him relevant information. Then, in his moment of glory, he makes a House-caliber prognosis: an anti-inflammatory prescription and a trip to the PT. Seriously? A teenager could have made this kind of assessment. Regardless of the procedures at ARC or the diagnosis, Weeks' disposition was irritable and pretentious. "You might not realize how much you use your arm." Really? You think I don't know how much I use my fucking arm? I know you loathe seeing hypochondriacs and rhino virus patients all day, but give me a fucking break. Probably OK for run-of-the-mill doctor visits, but a lame-o for anything else. read more

Wonton girl nailed it. David Weeks rushed in, didn't listen during an annual exam, charged me for an office visit by lying about what we talked about in his doctors notes (his office told me one "diagnosis" while telling me another, NEVER examined any part of my body for the fake diagnoses, and generally didn't care that I was there or not. His advice is always a pat lose weight. And he completely missed the cancer on my nose! This, from the man who told an intern that I was ignorant to refuse a flu shot as if I wasn't sitting right in front of him. He's gotten much worse in the last few years. Don't get me wrong; Dr. Weeks isn't bad. But the if the two stars means "Meh. I've experienced better," then two stars is right-on. He is very friendly and personable, which I really like. He's very much an "If it isn't broke, don't medicate it," philosophy, which I think is important. What I wish he'd done is ask more questions. I was there for a few different ailments (joint pain, allergies, possible eye infection). He did suggest I take Ibuprofin for the pain, and benedryl for the allergies. He also asked me several times if I had questions for him, and if we were good before leaving the room. All of this I appreciated. When I left though, I kept thinking that he didn't ask me enough about the joint pain. The Ibuprofin would certainly help for the majority of it, but my knee specifically was a separate/additional issue, which I did say, but he breezed over it. I WILL see him again in the future. He's with the Austin Regional Clinic (ARC), which makes it super convenient to make appointments (though I'm not a fan of the clinic set-up itself, see my post there). read more

Made an appt to see Dr Weeks to follow up after an appt with my cardiologist. He could not have been more indifferent and hurried. After not addressing any of my concerns, he rushed out of the room. Dr weeks is rushed and does not fully listen to concerns. On a recent visit he wrote 5 scripts barely hearing out concerns. Nasal congestion for 36h diagnosed as a sinus inf and handed a script. Not even close to established treatment guidelines in diagnosing sinusitis. He did not explain what each script was for - uri vs tx of gout. We will not see him again. read more

This visit has made me strike ARC off my list of doctors to go to in Austin, TX. I went in for an annual physical. 1) The doctor that I saw, David Weeks, seemed like the Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. "I'm late, I'm late..". It felt so rushed and as soon as I got in. I know they have other patients to see but feeling this rushed does not make me have any confidence. My visit with the doctor was about 20 minutes. The trust factor was never gained in my visit. 2) I get the bill in the mail about 3 weeks later and on top of an annual visit, this office charged an office visit. I asked my friend who is a nurse and she said it is legal but shady since I was only really there for an annual physical exam. They really should only bill for an annual exam. If I went there with a cold, it would be a different story. 3) I left multiple voicemails for the accounting management at ARC to call me back and I did not receive one call back. They have lost a customer for life. read more

I went in for a standard physical with Dr. Weeks on 12-6-2013. On 12-7-2013 ARC Billed my insurance company full price for the annual physical (no charge to me) then added an ADDITIONAL charge for "office visit" and sent me a bill on 1-25-2014. They attempted to hide the fact that they already were paid for the visit by my insurance company on the bill and listed that the "office visit" had an "insurance discount." In essence, they are double billing. VERY shady! I called ARC to have this corrected, and I waited on hold for 20min. The billing agent said this would be corrected. A month later I received another bill asking for the $86.90 for the "office visit" fee that was tacked on. Multiple calls have been unable to correct this. I am now filing a complaint with the Texas Medical Board, because ARC and Dr. Weeks ethics are severely lacking! read more

I'm between Katie C. And Jason C. on this one. I've been to see Dr. Weeks twice now and each time I have not been completely satisfied. He is a nice enough man, indeed, but I've not spent more than 10 minutes in his office each time I was there. Also, each time he had a resident student with him. I just don't feel he asked me enough questions or explored enough options before referring me to another expensive doctor or PT. Though probably not intentional on his part, he still made me feel as if I was a pit stop on his way somewhere else. I'm still in pain and now I'm into ARC for hundreds of dollars in medical bills and I still don't know what's wrong, I'll probably try to find a new, more patient and thorough doctor......once I pay these ridiculous doctor bills. read more

Face to face time is rushed in this busy office, but he gets the job done thoroughly and fast. He's been attentive every time I've seen him, and he actually makes eye contact (unlike other doctors at Austin Regional Clinic). I normally hate seeing male doctors, but he is by far the most compassionate general practitioner I have ever had. And his nurse, Amy, is awesome, too! read more

Dr Weeks does not listen to patients concerns thoroughly. I discussed the symptoms that I'm experiencing with him. He offered no insight at all to the potential cause of the issue. He did recommend two drugs for me though, with no explanation as to why or what the drugs were for. When I went to pick up the prescription the pharmacist told me that she could not fill the script, the drugs could not be taken together because of adverse interaction. The pharmacist called Dr Weeks about the mistake, but he never returned her call. I am left with more questions than answers, and still experiencing the debilitating issues. Very disappointed with what felt like preconceived Dx of whatever he thinks may be wrong because he didn't share it with me. read more

Dr. Weeks is *good*. REALLY good. He's one of two doctors I've had in my life who actually remember the two things I do as my life's work (music/weather); and it really makes points with me when I go in to visit and he asks how things are going with my music and if I've seen any good storms recently! When I've gone in and something has been seriously wrong -- Dr. Weeks is on top of it. On the occasions when I've had to see another doctor, he makes a follow-up call to make sure whatever they diagnosed and prescribed is working. To me, that's the sign of a doctor who is really committed to his patients. Dr. Weeks is compassionate and concerned -- very much a first-rate doctor. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Weeks for 4 years and have always had a great experience. ARC is a big practice and might not seem as personalized as a smaller place, but Dr. Weeks has always been thorough. Any issues I've had with billing and getting charged for things I wasn't expecting was more related to my crappy insurance than ARC or Dr. Week's care. read more

You will be wasting your time and "requests" with this man, Dr. Weeks. Pompous, pretentious, hurried man that does not do thorough check ups in my opinion. Flashed a light in my nose in ears that lasted half a second. How can this 70 year old man see anything? Ok, he's prob in his late 60's. His douchey hair cut and gold tan do not fool anyone. I told him i was suffering from anxiety from a recent funeral and from planning my own wedding. I asked him for anxiety medication and he told me that he preferred to give me a number to a good counselor!!! WTF?? I insisted stating that I had physical symptoms of muscle strain and adrenaline rushes. He decided to write me a prescription for a BETA BLOCKER ( high blood pressure med) to calm my heart rate down. Granted, that sounded weird from the beginning i entertained his "expertise" and filled the prescription. It made me dizzy and naseous and did relax my heart rate, which, by the way, I DIDNT EVEN HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE TO BEGIN WITH! My mind was still racing and all the anxious thoughts were still with me. I wanted Xanax, to turn off the brain and relax the body.... he gave me crap instead. I called him back to tell him i did not like the drugs he prescribed and wanted a script for xanax as orginally asked for.... he said " we will discuss in our next office visit." ARE YOU KIDDIN ME??!! I just saw you 2 days ago...... I told the nurse that I was not coming back in and asked her what my options were... she blatantly told me to look for another primary care doctor.
