    Davidian Brother’s Farm 7/2017

We were about to pass by this place the 4th time as the parking was still full down the street at Tower Hill Botanic Garden, when I decided to pull in so we could stretch our feet a bit. Davidian Brother's Farm is a farm stand with a decent sized parking lot, and an ice cream stand at one end. Just beyond there is a playground with a number of picnic tables. A short walk across a brook led to a fenced in area where they keep a yak, a llama, and a number of little goats temping us to pay 50 cents to feed them with their cuteness. Trying to bust into their game is a flock of free range geese also hoping to be fed. The farm stand sells flowers, fresh produce, fresh mozzarella, their own canned pickled eggs and pears ($11.99!) and peaches, as well as jams, as well as others' product. A deli is located past the check out stations, and some bakery goods were set by their local honey. Cider donuts were $1 apiece. The second floor is available for eating in. Ice cream prices are reasonable (ie. $2.95 small/$3.95 medium/$4.95 large), but the farm stand was deemed expensive by my mom.

Went here looking for Apple Cider Donuts. It appears as though they are made here at the store but I like to go and actually see them being made. You could buy singles for $0.80 or a half dozen for $3.99 so I got a box. The label said Cinnamon Sugar Cider Donuts which threw me since many of the other places I get them refer to them as Apple Cider. They were good and scratched my itch but there is nothing like getting a fresh on that is hot and steamy. The store itself was neat clean and had nice displays. I thought the prices were much too high. Corn for almost 8 bucks that doesn't seem like farm stand prices to me. They had a wonderful array of mums but again the prices were too steep for me. A little container was $3.99.

The cashier was very friendly! Found a lemon peppercorn dressing and apple jam for pb&j sandwiches. Decent priced market, filled with pumpkins currently, and overall not the biggest market but friendly.

$8.75 for a tiny chicken salad wrap? Never again will I order a sandwich here! Good fresh produce at premium prices, though.

Great local fresh farm produce, excellent home-roasted turkey in deli, very good homemade hummus, best source of local nectarines in August!

I bought two dozen eggs on a 2 dozen for $15 deal. I also bought a huge gorgeous heirloom tomato, a purple radish which was art to witness once cut into, and a bunch of leeks. Everything was delicious, and the lady who helped us was extremely knowledgeable and friendly to speak to. We visited the animals outside behind the market afterwards. There were plenty of sheep, llamas and goats to see roaming around. They were friendly and grazing. I did feel bad for one of the goats who seemed to hurt his front leg though. I hope she feels better soon! Can't wait to come back when it gets warmer outside and spend more time with the animals!

I think it was close to $20 for a quart box. At the end of the day...they're berries. And overly ripe at that. The people who work inside the store look miserable and not even a hello or a thank you after you've shelled out a mortgage payment for salad veg. There are so many stands in the area to choose from, skip this one.

My friend and I wound up in the overflow a little after 11am when the event started. I've always seen signs around when I'm driving in the area for other events or goods that they are selling. In the fall they seem especially popular as well for pumpkins and fall activities. The market area is brightly lit. Given the neighborhood, as everyone else has commented expect prices to be at a premium. The samples we tried at the Strawberry Festival were tasty. My favorite was the short cake. They also offered tickets at $1/ticket for some other paid offerings such as their ice cream which I skipped. They had someone dressed up as the Green Monster so that was a fun photo op for the family too. The event had a lot of staff so each station was moving. In fact one of the owners/managers came by seeing a long queue near the entrance by the pasta said we could walk around to the other stations since no one should be waiting in a line (ignore the line to park and get in haha.) I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to visit but it's an option for local. I've also gone to Wagon Wheel which is smaller for seasonal / market type items.
