Came in to try on dresses for an elopement and brought my sister's with me. Bailey was my consultant and was wonderful with the dress selection and helping us find my dress. I had one in mind when I came in and ended up getting something I hadn't found before. This was such an easy experience. My consultant also snagged a canceled alteration appointment so I walked from purchasing to getting into alternation measurements making my process smooth, fast, and so easy. The cost was extremely high, I felt extremely rushed, there wasn't much space for multiple people to receive the same treatment. Dresses were beautiful, but just thought the price was extreme. The consultant was not friendly towards my guests and kind of would disregard them. I definitely think they need better training and the alteration came and he didn't have a really good demeanor nor did he provide great service in explanation of what was needed. Six years ago, I went to David's Bridal in Texas for a wedding and had a terrible experience. Unfortunately, last week at the David's Bridal in Albuquerque, I encountered the same awful service. The store wasn't busy, yet the staff was not helpful. After browsing the dresses on my own, an associate finally approached me and asked what I was looking for, only to tell me to dig through the racks myself. I picked out three dresses and made my way to the dressing room without any assistance. One dress might have fit, but I couldn't zip it up on my own. I went back to the rack to try another, but despite there being only one other shopper and three or four employees in the store, no one offered to help or check in on me. Disgusting service. My sister-in-law went looking for a veil. She asked if she could purchase a damaged veil at a discount and the associate told her that she could order a new one. We told her that we weren't interested in buying a new one and as we're walking out to leave, they started making gagging noises at us!! Whether there was a purchase or not, us inquiring about a particular item should not warrant disrespect like that. Went with my oldest daughter last week for prom. They had a huge selection of dresses, and though we were walk-ins, they were courteous and helpful while my daughter tried on at least a dozen dresses. Store was clean and has a ton of spacious fitting rooms. I appreciated the wide variety of dress styles, fits, and sizes available off the rack at reasonable price points. We ultimately bought elsewhere, but I'll definitely keep them in mind for next year with my younger one. read more

I got engaged and immediately began scheduling appointments around town to make sure I had enough time to try things on and order them. I scheduled my bridal and bridesmaid appointments here ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE. When I arrived on Saturday morning at 9:00am the girl at the front desk greeted me and let me know the stylist was double booked and would be helping another bride as well. Ummm I'm sorry? Was it too much trouble to ask another person to come in on your busiest day of the week? The stylist didn't ask me what I wanted, just told me to walk around and pick what I like. Once I did that she picked up a couple of the dresses and ignored others telling me she would come back for them. Spoiler: she didn't. When it came to the fitting room she would get me into a dress, walk me out to my group then walk away to help the other bride. This meant she missed the discussion regarding the dress, so she had absolutely no clue what we liked or disliked about any of the selections. We then would have to repeat all of our thoughts back to her when she would finally get back to us from the other bride. So not only was she completely ignoring the most important part of the try on session, but she was providing horrible service to two brides at the same time! She never once asked me what style of dress I was looking for, and did not assess my taste. After stating that I did not like the first dress I tried on she proceeded to put a belt and headband on me in spite of me telling her I don't like belts or headbands. When I did not like them my friend attempted to take them off me and the stylist got rude and offended stating that she shouldn't touch them. I had booked the bridesmaid appointment immediately after my bridal appointment to save some time. The same stylist was assigned to the bridesmaid appointment as well and she was also double booked for that time slot. This meant that we had to search the floor ourselves for any suitable dresses. She didn't bother asking what my colors were or what style of dress I would like for the girls. I would not come back to this location ever again due to the horrible service, poor selection, and blatant disregard of the customers. read more

So my dress shopping started in March of this year I had the best consultant her name is Renee she is the absolute best! I went in totally unsure of what I was looking for. I'm a huge tomboy and does not wear dresses, she picked out a couple different body shapes and told me as I tried them on and she gave me her opinion (witch I loved) and I found my perfect dress. She show me the different color options of the dress (because I didn't want white) and it was amazing. I'm still in love with the dress. (Getting married in August).. I highly HIGHLY recommend her if your looking for a great person with a great personality and consultant!! One another note I do have ONE con about the alterations department well one lady in particular ( older lady that apparently has been there along time?). I went in for my first fitting and when we first got there they took the dress into the room because I was waiting on some other people and when we walked into the room she said there's your dress go ahead and put it all on. Well this was mine and my MOH first time putting it on ourselves (dress, slip, corset, shoes) she didn't offer to help or say if u need anything let me know. So after putting on the dress we had to have some alterations done and the lady asked if I had the money to pay for them and I stated no I don't because I didn't even know I had to have any done we proceeded and she told me I needed to take off the dress and come back when I have the money.. well she didn't even tell me how much it would be so I told her I was not going to take it off because I needed to know how much the alterations would be.. she said well we have to reschedule because you don't have the money and walked off... I was very disappointed so Arshal stayed there and pinned me to see how much it would be and everything she was great and explained everything thoroughly .. I did make the complaint in store when I picked up my vail and they fixed the situation. My recent fitting (today) Arshal helped me again greeted me from beginning and took me to the dressing room and asked if we needed help to let her know . She was great and told me how many bustle I needed in the dress and other stuff that had to be done very thoroughly and explained everything even offered to steam my vail. I give this a 2 star for dress selection. A zero star for consultant. The "consultant" either wasn't knowledgeable or unwilling to be helpful. No parameters or outline to appointment. Asked for a platform for bride or even a stool, and we were told none, and wouldn't be allowed in store. Had to ASK, no recommendations on veils, foundation garments, and petticoats. The consultant didn't fluff trains or talk about different fits of dresses, trains, etc. Stood quiet most of the time. Asked employee about ordering parameters and we were told she didn't have a calendar and she wouldn't even know where to find one. Make no mistake my soon to be wife found 2 dresses she loves that's the only reason this didn't get 1 star. An employee I m not not sure if I'm supposed to name but my fiancé says her name is Hannah rush her out at the end of her appointment and here you can Serivice yourself. Sadly I'm not sure if she's working on commission or not but I sent my fiancé there with no budget and my Amex... Soooo yaaaaa she probably just blew a potentially huge commission cause I would have spent any dollar amount needed to get her the dress she wants in time (I know you're thinking why is she at David's bridal when she should be at a designer but this is dress what she wants). I will add we are giving them very short notice on this piece like 2 week turn around however again we boil back to the fact there is no budget and I believe that in any business (being a business owner myself) where there's a will there is a way and when there's a blank check the job can take all day. Well maybe that sales rep or location aren't capable of handling a much more demanding clientele with high expectations and potentially short term needs. Excellent selection of dresses. I liked the staff. The manager was incredibly helpful. I was going to make a knee-jerk purchase (because I had a really bad experience at a different bridal boutique) and the manager actually hand picked the dress I ended up with, and suggested I wait to buy anything until my scheduled fitting, later that week. The prices are way more affordable than anywhere else I went to in Albuquerque and this was the only place that was able to get my dress shipped in before my May wedding, so I didn't have to buy something directly from the rack. Awful company. This review is for both the store in Albuquerque and their online store. I had bought my dress online less than 30 days ago, I am going to school full time and I work part time, so I really did not have much time or patience to go to the physical store to buy a dress. One dress online was discounted by a few hundred dollars from their original price ($399) and I thought it was such a good deal that I would get it, try it on, then have it altered closer to the wedding. To my surprise, the dress then put in clearance for $199. Unfortunately being a student full time and working part time I am always right on cash, so I decided to see if I could do a price adjustment. They refused me, their policy is 14 days (none business) and I had exceeded that by a few days. I decided to repurchase the dress at the lower price and return the one I purchased at $399 so I could save money and spend it towards the cake or some other service. The first box they sent the dress to me in (and I sent back in) was gorgeous and included a receipt for the dress. I was sad to let the box go because I was going to use it for a memory box but I figured they would send me a new one. Nope, they sent me an amazon box which had a receipt inside it that was for a black 6.6 gallon something. Not to mention, the dress and the plastic sleeve looked like they were THROWN in the box. The original dress was folded into the pink box gently with the plastic sleeve tied at the bottom. The dress doesn't look damaged but the AMAZON box looks like it was not closed all the way. Since this is a delicate dress I would imagine they would ship it in a better condition but nope. David's Bridal only cares about you unless you do big purchases. Yesterday I had went with my maid of honor to the Abq location to look for accessories. We were greeted, but not really attended too. While we were trying on crowns I was a pretty floral one that's probably for flower girls, but I liked it so much I wanted to try it on anyways. One of the employess came up to us and in a REALLY CONDESCENDING voice told me "it's for flower girls. Not you." We spent a little bit more time at the store but after everything that has happened so far has left a bad taste in my mouth I decided not to give this company anymore money than I have already given them. If I can give less than a 1 star rating I truly would. I am very unhappy with this location and corporation. They don't clean their dresses when you purchase them after you and who knows how many other people try them on. Just because this dress was on clearance does not mean you get degraded service. The women who was helping us out was very fixed on giving her own opinions and what she liked best on the bride. Mind you, was also very persistent on the "cheaper" options, David's Bridal does not sell "cheap" merchandise nor label their merchandise as "cheap." If this corporation does not sell CLEAN dresses, it should be very much marketed instead of notifying the bride to be upon check out for hundreds of dollars for a USED dress. If this is truly how David's Bridal works.. YIKES! If not, I'd love an explanation onto why the dress we were seconds away from buying was not going to be cleaned and sold "as is." This review is tricky because there was parts of this experience that were miserable and we almost just walked out and then there were parts that were lovely and wonderful. I'll start with the bad, we made the appointment over a month a head of time because my maid of honor is from out of state and we had a very short window of us being together to get this done. We had an appointment at 11:30, showed up a few minutes before then and waited in line to check in. We were told that a consultant would be with us "when she could" so we wandered around and pulled the dresses I was looking for. We waited until 11:45 and still had not been addressed so we went up front to see what the plan was. There were still two people in front of us in line. This was super disappointing as we made sure we had done everything right and had a scheduled time. Finally our assigned consultant gave us approximately 5 seconds of her time and we were put in a back corner dressing room where the only mirror was in between two large clothing racks. What. After complaining about that part, we were assigned someone else who typically wasn't a consultant and usually works at the desk. She was hands down the savior of this experience. She was helpful, lovely and so, so nice. If it wasn't for her hard work and dedication to finding the perfect dress for me, we would have almost certainly left and done business elsewhere. She treated us like a friend and had suggestions that truly demonstrated that she had really listened when I talked about the details of my wedding and cared about getting it all just right. We didn't get the whole experience, my friends had to stand cramped in a corner, several of the dresses I had seen online weren't available in the store and we had to fight for a sliver of mirror space but I found the perfect dress and our new consultant was so great that she saved this whole experience from a one star review. read more

Always a bridesmaid, never the bride. (Don't tell my bf I said that...) My best friend is getting married in California in June and I'm the only one out-of-state in the bridal party. To make sure all of the bridesmaid dresses match (color and style), the bride chose David's Bridal to supply the bridesmaid dresses, since there's one in Albuquerque and in Northern California. Since the bride bought her dress at David's Bridal, all of the bridesmaids get $20 off their bridesmaid dresses. Love it! The bridesmaid dress that the bride picked was on sale for $99, plus I got the $20 off! Great deal! Plus, the dress has pockets! Not like I'm really going to use the pockets, but it's a nice touch. When I walked in to David's Bridal, the lady at the front desk helped find a sales associate to help me. The sales associate helped me find the specific dress, picked out some sizes to try on, and led me to the fitting room. Eventually, after trying on a few sizes, we found the perfect one. They didn't have my size in the color I needed, so we had to order it. They helped me place my order and told me they'd notify me by e-mail of when to pick-up (ETA mid-April). Make sure you go to David's Bridal WAY ahead of the wedding date in case you need to order it since it takes a long time to get it shipped to the store. Plus, leave extra time for alterations, which they can do in-house. I went on Saturday afternoon. I highly recommend coming on a weekday. Saturday was ridiculous! There were so many people in the fitting rooms and at the registers checking out - pure mayhem. But, for the great prices and beautiful bridesmaid dresses, I'll deal with the crowds. Definitely come in knowing what you want, especially if you're in the market for a wedding gown, and make an appointment if doing so. Walk-ins are fine, but if you need the extra attention from the sales associates, it's best to make an appointment because they get pretty busy. read more

I ordered a bridesmaid's dress from David's Bridal and since I was a "new" customer, I received a 10% discount, and then I signed up for their emails, so I received another 10% discount. I think it saved me around $30-$35 total. I had to pay $15 for shipping. When I received the dress, it was too small. I talked with customer service and they said they could exchange it... EXCEPT... I would lose the 20% discount and I would have to pay $12.50 to ship it back and another $15 to ship the new dress out. On top of the $15 I originally paid. So... just to EXCHANGE the dress I would be spending an additional $60 (ish)! To EXCHANGE it! They would not honor the 20% discount I had from the first order even though it was an EXCHANGE. They said "we can't use the same promo code" so when I asked, "Can't you just use a different code to equal 20%" they said, "Oh, we can't do that, the discount comes out to be a couple dollars more if we use a different one." Are you kidding me?! A couple dollars!? I will NEVER order from David's Bridal again- I hope the "couple of dollars" was worth losing my business. read more

I was at David's Bridal over the weekend. After reading all the negative reviews posted, I was somewhat apprehensive. I am thrilled I kept the appointment. I could not have been happier. The sales associate was absolutely wonderful! She listened to me and offered great suggestions. She added accessories that made all the difference to the overall look of the wedding dress ensemble. I had visited numerous bridal salons prior to this location, often feeling rushed and not prioritized as a client. That was not the case here. Upon spending more than 2 1/2 hours at the salon, my choice was down to the final two. I was not pressured to make a decision immediately, rather suggested that I consider the pros and cons overnight. Amazing. I purchased the dress today! I got there and was told to find dresses and take them to dressing room. Did not have anyone helping me as they should have been. This review is for mine and my entire bridal parties experience. First and foremost, when I had went for my appointment for bridal gowns I found a beautiful gown. My consultant although new and a bit intimidated by my family did her best. At several points taking me aside and asking me what my family's problem was. Maybe not the best way to handle the situation but I found my dress nonetheless. Now I have a very large bridal party. 9 to be exact. A bridesmaid and I at her appointment decided on five dresses that the girls could choose from, one color, and floor length. Now the problem. Two of the girls went to try on dresses they were given only one dress and it wasn't even a dress that was one we chose. They were made to purchase this dress. I called the next day and they were asked to come back and given all the choices. This happened with each bridesmaid. By the end of it they ended up with a floor length dress in the appropriate color. Now the kicker. My dear friend will be 8 months pregnant at the wedding. We were asked to come back the end of September because that was the absolute latest we would order. This was to hopefully find a dress to accommodate her growing baby bump. We were greeted by Nate. We told him the situation and he said great let's find a dress. He told her she needed a short dress . I said no it's a winter wedding and no short dresses. He looked me straight in the eye and said "sorry honey but this isn't about you." And I said " well it's my wedding, this whole thing is about me. No short dresses." He then proceeded to put her in a pant suit, and then tried a mother of the bride dress that wasn't even close to my colors and told me " I needed to get over it" we finally decided on a dress that even though she didn't want strapless we figured it would work. We asked if he'd make sure this would be in on time and he assured us it would be. He then tried to get us to order a size 26!!!!! The girl was in a size 12 dress. After checking the website I see that it wouldn't be arriving until weeks after my wedding even if ordered in the correct size. We tell him and it's back to square one. He leaves us by ourselves for an hour trying to find dresses on our own by looking at the website for dresses that will come On time. Finally after the seamstress assists her in and out of several dresses and back and forth with him scrambling and a final decision. He comes over with a pregnancy pillow. And says " here's a pillow for maybe a little more accuracy." Are you kidding me where was this guy two hours prior. He made so many rude comments about me and he made my poor already emotional and hormonal friend feel awful about herself. If I could do it all over again I would never pick David's Bridal. read more

She was refused water during her fitting and almost fainted, I was called a liar for attempting to pick up a dress that they denied calling me to pick up, and most recently my dress arrived way too small with no time to order another. Through it all we have been accused of doing wrong on our part, or lied to. In an attempt to make things better I was offered an off the rack dress 3 sizes too big to replace my $300 order that they had pre-existing knowledge would be made too small. Finally, they offer to alter the dress to fit, but no one ever calls me as they promised. I left messages that were never returned numerous times. I am usually an online shopper, a value shopper and a small store shopper. In spite of all that working with Rebecca Rockitt at the DB location in Winrock was great. She really knows their stock, and understands how dresses will work on bodies; she had a ton of great advice. I am a curvy pear shaped person which often makes it difficult to fit things properly to my frame, but she really listened and then was able to advise intelligently and with detail about choosing a dress across three different bridesmaid body types. She did everything she could to make sure the visit went quickly and smoothly, and gave me a lot of useful information about store stock and available colors and lines. No store is perfect, especially for a chain store. You don't buy off the rack, you try on a "floor model" which can be grungy and/or beat up from people trying it on. The appointment schedule system seems to be not very adaptable to people's needs. Also online and store availability really don't line up and what's available from the warehouse doesn't always coordinate with what you might want. But working with Rebecca ensured that I had a great experience and got a good dress anyway. I would totally do this again. read more

I was super disappointed in how rude and snobby they were here. My daughter just got engaged and we thought we would begin our wedding dress explorations here at David's Bridal. We walked in and the girl at the front asked how they could help us and we said we'd like to look at wedding dresses. She informed us in a not so polite way that we had to make an appointment to see and try on wedding gowns and that they were booked for the day. She never asked if we would like to make an appointment. She just stood there looking back at us. What she didn't know is that I peered into her schedule book and it was blank, with one entry late in the afternoon. I also would like to add that we were there at an off time...11:15 am on a Friday and no one was in the store. A new one is ordered and shows up also in bad condition....the only reason I had a dress is because of Carol in alterations. The amazing Dress Doctor Carol in alterations saved the dress and my wedding. She took apart the entire dress and removed the inner bones of the dress. Turns out they said they "have partnered with our store team who have advised us that during your fitting you were informed that this request could not be made". In other words, I am a liar. I had people with me that heard they saying it could be done with some stitches, I had a pin on that place during my first and second visits, however I am just making this out and I chose spending $150+ in non refundable costs just to come to internet and complain. Worst customer service I have ever had! If you are still going there, take pictures, and make sure they write down every single item they say they are going to fix for you. I made an appointment and went to David's Bridal on 07/28/2018. I am going to be a bridesmaid and was looking for something at their "special occasion" section. The consultant was very helpful and I was able to find a beautiful dress in less than one hour. I was told that they could do the alterations over there (I needed a hem, a loose string to be put back in, and a fix for a bump on the rear of the dress). This is the service made me very happy. That day I went to alterations to make my appointment, I was waiting for a few minutes and they told me they were very busy and I could call later. I tried that day, and the next... I finally got ahold of someone two days later - the phone would ring and no one would answer it. Then I found out they had availability only in two weeks - never was mentioned that I had to wait that long for a first fitting. Anyways, everything went smoothly on the first fitting, the person helping me assured me that everything was going to be done by August 30th (including the bump on the butt). All right, the day before my pick up date I receive a call saying they were short staffed and my dress was not ready. I got worried, because I am leaving the country on September 10th. Again, they assured the dress was going to be ready for sure September 4th. Already upset, I went there on the date of pick up. Someone in alterations came to me apologizing, saying they did not know what happened, and left. I assumed she was taking care of my dress, so we waited, and waited... After 30 minutes waiting, the same lady shows up with someone else's dress! When I asked the other person helping, they told me my dress was not ready yet, and I had to come back the next day! Finally, today, I was able to get my dress. The hem was fine, but the bump on the butt, that was a real deal breaker for me, that I was told was going to be fixed, was still there! When I questioned two more people in alterations, they said nothing could be done there because the dress was too tight on me and it was stretching sideways! I complained saying that I was told, even there, by the person on my first fitting, that the bump was fixable. They said nothing could be done. And now I have to find someone else to finish what David's Bridal did not. Resuming, I felt the customer service was great until I bought the dress. After, it went downhill. For a hem and a easy fix on the rear of a special occasion dress, took them 40 days, numerous calls, and four visits. Unless the dress fits you perfectly or you have someone trustworthy that could do the alterations for you, I would not buy at this place. If I had that much stress with a "simple special occasion dress", who would know how it would be if I was a bride. read more

I'd first like to say appointments are required at almost every bridal shop. So please don't base your decision off of others reviews that had a bad experience because they didn't have an appointment. Now that we have that out of the way... David's Bridal has been redeemed! I'm an event planner in Albuquerque and planned weddings for 8 out of the 11 years I've been planning events. I previously had not so good experiences at David's and always suggested other bridal shops in town. My niece has been looking for a wedding dress as she's getting married in August 2019 and has been unsuccessfull at other shops in town. I cringed when I suggested she make an appointment with them and was nervous going in for the appointment this past weekend. I was pleasantly surprised by the staff and customer service we were provided. My niece made her appointment online and they were unable to find it. They said it would be no problem and that someone would be with us shortly. They told us to go ahead and look around and see if she found any dresses she'd like to try on. A few moments later we were greeted by Jennifer and she spoke with my niece about her wedding, budget and dress styles she liked. She also gave my niece the option of picking out her own dresses to try on, or she could pick dresses based on what ny niece told her. My niece decided she'd still like to pick out her own dresses and Jennifer checked on us frequently to see if we needed help or had questions. The dressing room area was a little messy but it was Saturday and there were several other large groups trying on dresses. She did ensure my niece's dressing room was tidy before having her enter. Jennifer was amazing, kind and patient. What else could you ask for!? She read my nieces body language and knew she really loved the first dress she tried on, so she suggested she try it back on before trying on any of the others. That was definitely the one and she made her decision. I'm so thankful to Jennifer and all of the staff we came in contact with for helping us. I'm now happy to suggest David's to others.
