I came here the other day, while we were in town with family, to order my bridesmaid dress for my sister's wedding. When I stopped here, I did not have an appointment. The woman in the front, was super sweet and made me feel welcome even though I had dropped in. The woman who helped me find my dress was helpful as well. She made sure I was comfortable and even zipped me up when I tried on the dress. David'd bridal gets a bad rap, reasonably so. But, my experience this weekend was pleasant and almost made me want to return. read more

The engagement high was strong when I went to go try on wedding dresses here at David's Bridal! I had called and was informed I needed to make an appointment & walk ins were not available. I walked in and saw all the pretty dresses, we checked in (I brought my fiancé) I was told to look at the dresses and select a few that I liked. I had come prepared with photos from the website & the lady said she would look for the dresses. They ended up not having any of the ones that I picked in stock. I had picked a few dresses to try on & then she needed to get different sizes but brought back different gowns. All in all I tried on 3 gowns & then my time was up. We spent a lot of time talking about each gown, she tried to narrow down what I liked and didn't like in the dress, she was very sweet & helped me in and out of each dress. I was surprised when my time was up only having tried on 3 & the lady had started hinting about needing to finish because of her next appointment. So I believe it took $30 mins in total and at the end I had found one tht i was liking & they (I think maybe a manager) were pressing me into getting the credit card & wanted me to fill it out before I left. The woman was super nice, but I felt rushed and pressured to buy, so I left really dissatisfied and almost in tears because I never ended up trying the styles of dresses that I wanted, since she brought some random ones. I came to David's Bridal in Amarillo to shop for a dress to wear to a wedding. I was on a deadline so I had to pick something they had on the showroom floor. The first day the ladies were very accommodating and helpful. Zip, unzip, zip, unzip on and on. I found a dress I liked but it needed what the seamstress and I thought was very easy alterations. The did the alteration in one week. I went back to try on my altered dress and pick it up. It wasn't quite right. Since I drove 1 1/2 hours to come here, they again were very accommodating and did alterations. These ladies spent the time it took to get my dress fitting correctly. Terrible service. Walked in and our bride immediately found a dress she liked. The attendant told us to follow her to the dressing and showing area, so we did. The whole time she talked to our party she was not making eye contact, and kept calling our bride "my love". We are your client and our bride deserve for you to take 2 seconds to learn her name. The attendant then gave our bride 3 random dresses to try from. 3 we had never seen, hadn't picked, and weren't our brides style at all. We asked if she could try on the one she found and liked, and the attendant told us that she was not going to pull the any of the ones she saw and liked, but that our attendant would go choose the dresses that we could try. Our bride tried on a few and then mentioned she wanted and needed to look herself since, none of these were her style. The attendant then let our bride go, but only let her pick one, and acted like that was "the one". While we did like it, we didn't like the puffiness of the skirt. The attendant also kept trying to add a sparkly/glam belt of some kind when we and our bride made it clear that was not what we wanted. She chose another dress for our bride and when that wasn't "the one", she said to put the other back on and see if we still liked it. So she did and we could all tell it wasn't the same feeling after she put it on the 2nd time. However, our attendant, the manager and another attendant immediately swarmed our bride and attacked her with questions and options that we had already discussed, but they weren't considering any of it. "If you want we can get something under it to make it more puffy!!!" It's already too puffy. It's like they were determined to make a sale they weren't even thinking about our brides preferences, and style. I would NOT recommend this David's bridal to anyone. Very unprofessional, and rude. We left very unhappy, not with the products , but with the store, and attendants. read more

I was apprehensive when my sister and I walked in yesterday (myself very reluctantly as I'm not used to being the center of attention) Right away the entire staff was friendly and eager to help me feel more comfortable. I had had an idea in mind of what I wanted but with the help of my stylist Katie, who was very relaxed and helped make wonderful selections as we tried on dresses and figured out what worked best and provided the most flattering figure, I walked out with a gorgeous gown that I love and am sure will make my Fiancée very happy. This was the first time I had tried on wedding dresses, I left David's extremely disappointed and upset. I had made an appointment in advance. I showed up a few minutes early, I was told it was going to be a little bit and to start looking at dresses and pull the ones I wanted to try on. After grabbing a few we were told to stop grabbing dresses because we didn't know what size I was going to be. That made sense but why did they tell us to start pulling dresses. It was at least 15 mins after my appointment time when someone finally came up to help me. I was a little surprised by this because I thought that's why I made an appointment. We had 4 dresses pulled that we liked, the consultant said she was going to go get them in the correct size and ended up putting all of them up and just came back with only 1 of the dresses that we picked. One of the dresses we originally had picked was the correct size, when we asked her what happened to the other dresses we had pulled she said that she had them hanging around the corner. Which was a lie, she put them all up! When the consultant was putting dresses on me they were just thrown on and looked horrible because they were wrinkled and rolled in all the wrong places. I felt very rushed and I felt like I got the "hurry up and buy it" attitude. The selection was very limited for dresses in my size. I was told that they were low on stock not just on dresses but on veils too. They put me in dresses that were 2 sizes too small but then mentioned they would have that dress in the bigger size. I just wanted to say "why didn't you put me in the bigger size to begin with!?" The store seemed like it was very unorganized and the consultant seemed to leave me a lot. Some of the time my friend would have to come into the dressing room and help me out of dresses and into others. Also, the dressing rooms were extremely small and didn't have a mirror in it, which I hate. (I know that sounds dumb but I would like to make my own opinion about the dress before I go out and show everyone else.) There were 2 dresses that I liked on the mannequin which were no where near close to my size. My friend asked if they got a size closer to mine if they would call me so I could come in and try it on. The consultant said "We could call her but I'm not going to." I was shocked by her response. My friend and mother were appalled by the way we were treated. I was told that one of the dresses I brought a picture of straight from the website was discontinued and they were not able to get. We asked if she could check with other stores to see if they had it in stock and she said "no, you can't get it anywhere. They have sold all of them." I went back to David's website and was able to pick out my size and order it...I thought that it was sold out!? If you are looking for a store in Amarillo to buy a wedding dress go to Brides, it's just down the street. I received wonderful customer service at Brides, also they don't work on commission there. Going to Brides was like a breath of fresh air compared to what I dealt with at David's. I highly suggest to stay away from David's bridal. Skip the disappointment and go to Bride's they have wonderful customer service and beautiful dresses! read more

There HAS to be a better place in town to get bridal stuff. This place is terrible. Bottom line: THEY DON'T CARE. We were barely acknowledged; when we got there to pick up our dress they brought it out and then ignored us. The dress didn't fit at all: worst alteration I've ever seen. The zipper was a struggle, and they basically altered it backward: very tight in front and loose in back. It was so wrinkled, it looked like it had been wadded up in a shoebox before we received it. They hid behind their "no returns or exchanges" policy, and wanted to charge us to press out the wrinkles they put in it. We left with what we had and fixed it ourselves. No way would we go back. I set up an appointment to go in and try on wedding dresses for my wedding in the summer. Ashley helped us and made the process very exciting and easy. She was the best person we could have possibly asked for to help. She asked me what style I was searching for, went through what they had and price options, and then got me fitted with ease. She knew everything about every dress available and made my dreams come true with the dress we picked out together and I went home with. They also had very reasonably-priced dresses and offered a ton of discounts and coupons. Overall, my experience here was great and I would 100% recommend going and asking for Ashley! read more

I hope I never have to deal with this David's Bridal ever again. Our group of bridesmaids had nothing but trouble with these folks. I'll warn you, I have A LOT to say about this David's Bridal, but I've done my best to condense it. It started with our consultant not remembering the bride's name, and even after being corrected several times, she still couldn't get it right. Her name isn't difficult either. Then she kept mixing up me and another bridesmaid. She called me her name, gave me her dresses, and her size of shoes. That means that the other bridesmaid had all my dresses. My fellow bridesmaid tried to correct the consultant, but the consultant insisted that she knew what she was doing. Zippers were busted because I'm a little smaller, and this lady was trying to put the other bridesmaid in my size. Imagine how terrible my friend felt! This happened twice. Additionally, we were not offered bras, and that changes the way dresses fit we later discovered. The consultant leaves to go speak to her manager about us waiting to purchase the dresses, and she doesn't come back for 15 minutes. We find her walking around in the dress aisles. We made an appointment with her, and we all thought that meant she was working solely with us. I went back to order my dress and shoes a week later. The consultant had called me every day during the week. It was really annoying and seemed desperate and pushy. When I ordered my dress (after I informed them that they had all my sizes wrong and the dress style wrong because the consultant wrote down that I was the other bridesmaid) they told me it would take three to six weeks for it to come in, so I asked for it to be shipped to a store in Austin (something I've done before). Apparently the policy had been changed "quite recently," and I'd have to pay to have it sent to my house there in Austin. I pay for that, but I ask them to call me if it comes in sooner. I thought it would be better to just pick it up and save the shopping cost. When my dress came in the following week, I went to pick it up and get a refund on the shipping cost. 45 minutes later I'm fuming because it took that long to give me back $22. The store wasn't even that busy. No one knew what they were doing at all. When it's my turn to get married believe me I WILL NOT go to this place for anything. read more

Absolutely wonderful experience at the Soncy Road shop today. The salesgirl (I can't remember her name, but she was the young blonde girl) was so sweet and gave me impeccable service even though I came in without an appointment. I've had a very difficult time finding a dress that would cover my chest tattoos, but she found several right off the bat, and helped me pick one out that was absolutely perfect, and she helped me find my shoes as well! She called the seamstress over to give me a quote on my alterations, helped me book my appointment, and was overall a delight to work with. K, so this was a few years ago, but I would like to post this for those brides not looking to get ripped off- So I went in and bought a short wedding dress that needed heavy alterations. Paid over $1100 that day (dress, alterations, bra). I live in pampa, so I had to leave the dress for about a week until the alterations were finished. When I got back to pick it up, they had me hastily try it on to see if it fit -and it did! They were very busy and I was obviously inconveniencing them, so I had them put my dress in a sealed bag, and left with it. A few weeks later, my husband and I realized we would have to push our summer wedding to a winter wedding. Of course I freaked out, I already had my dress, right? Anyway, I pull it out of the sealed bag at this point in time and begin to consider my options. I turn the dress inside out to see that the inside of the dress had seams falling apart everywhere! I had planned on calling David's bridal to talk about an exchange for a more winter appropriate dress anyway, but when I saw that I had paid about $300 for for them to rip up my dress (alterations), I decided that I would be wanting a "alteration credit" as well. So I called and talked to a woman there about my situation. She said "we would be glad to exchange the dress for one of equal or lesser value" and that they would talk to their alterations department when I got there to see what they could do for me. So I called my elderly grandmother(who also lives in another town about an hour away) and my sister to come and meet me there. After we all 3 drive an hour from different places to meet and pick out a new dress, I walk into the store just to find out that they had went back on their word. They would not let me exchange as we had discussed on the phone, and absolutely nothing was done to fix the seams that were falling apart on the inside of the dress. They said I would have to PAY to fix THEIR mistake. Anyway, I ended up having to buy a cheap $200 dress online to fit my needs, after spending $1100 on a ripped up dress that now hangs in my closet with no purpose! Brides beware, you only matter to them when you are handing them cash! They will not back their product or their work OR their word. David's bridal, you are a joke, and you ruined the 'dress experience' for me! Maybe this post will keep others from going through the same. read more

I had a wonderful experience at David's Bridal. We walked in and they were able to get us an appointment in half an hour. Everyone we worked with was kind and enthusiastic. I felt like they really cared that I was having a great time shopping. The dress I liked was pretty wrinkled when I first tried it on which was distracting. However, they pressed it for me so I could see it on without wrinkles. They also have a large selection of dresses and I tried on several. They did not rush me. I ended up choosing a dress and the whole staff came over to celebrate with me. They had my dress in my perfect size and I took it home the same day. read more

I have never in my lifetime (and I am the mother, not the bride) experienced a warmer, more positive shopping experience than we had recently at David's Bridal in Amarillo. The entire staff put their hearts and souls into finding the perfect dress and accessories to please my daughter. Everyone got involved from the managers down. My daughter was thrilled with the results. Nothing about the experience could have been improved upon. I highly recommend this store. read more

My daughter had her dress altered in the Lewisville store and when she went to pick it up they had not started on the alterations. This caused I believe the employees to rush through the alterations and when my daughter received the dress it was too small in the bust area. I called David's Bridal in Amarillo since the wedding would be in Canyon to see if they could get us in and fix the dress. The alterations ladies were great with Mica and assured her they would get the dress fixed in time for her wedding which was only 2 days away. I can not say enough nice things about the ladies in Amarillo. They were kind, compassionate, and concerned. They turned what could have been a disaster into a fairytale ending for my daughter. I offered to pay for the last minute alterations because I thought it was only fair since the dress had been bought at another store. I had went to Davids Bridal on 4/10/2015 and it was amazing. The ladies who helped us were just great! I'm plus size and feel very self conscious, and the ladies made me feel beautiful! Earlier in the day I had went to another bridal shop, but just about every single dress the store had was in the same size which was a 10. Nothing would fit me, but the owner was very nice. But after 45 minutes of that my bridemaids took me to Davids. To be honest I was ready to leave as soon as we walked in to Davids. I was so disappointed and upset with myself after trying on dresses that were beautiful but that would never fit me that I didn't even want to try on anything else, I just wanted to go home. And as I was in the process of trying to tell the nice lady that we were going to try this another time when my confidence wasn't shattered, my parents walked in, so then I had to stay. Amber was the lady helping, she had me pick out three dresses; it was painless. and as she set up the dressing room she left me with my parents and bridemaids. I was so frustrated until we got in the dressing room. There wasn't any judgement; just very supportive. Amber stepped out so my maid of honor could do up corset bra thing that had like two dozen snaps, and then Amber came back in. She spent several hours with us and even stayed past her shift, which she never made known to any of us; she didn't rush me, and we tried on those same three dresses over and over until my mom and my girls started crying and we had come to a conclusion of which one was the gown. Amber and the other employees made me feel like a beautiful bride. When I first got engaged I was scared to come to Davids because of the bad reviews, but I'm so grateful that we did! I didn't purchase the dress that day, but it hasn't quite been a week yet, but I will be going in the next few days to purchase it, and I will be buying from Amber!!! I suggest that new brides give them a try, I'm so grateful that I did! read more

This was the first time I tried on wedding dresses and I found my dress very quickly. I had an appointment in advance, showed up 15 minutes early and I was addressed immediately when I walked in the door - every employee was very nice and ask to assist in any way. I tried on 4 dresses and found the perfect dress. The alterations department did a good job. I had to have a few last minute alterations, but overall my experience here was fantastic - store experience a 10 and alterations experience a 8. I would definitely recommend them. read more
