I'm going to sound snobby and snotty no doubt, but I always assumed David's Bridal was of low quality and like the "wal-mart/use car sales" of the bridal world. It seems I was only slightly right. They have style and every size but the quality was better then the dresses at Jon's Bridal of Tampa, and the service was 100% better. I am getting married in 6 weeks and my custom dress was not working out. I has limited on time and knew I couldn't order anything because a) time and b) i'm a size 18w and 90% of place wouldn't have a sample for me to try and buy. So I made an appt at DB figuring it was better then nothing and I needed something off the rack at this point. I got Manie at the Clearwater location, She was older and had been doing it for years. She wasn't overly friendly and but knew what she was doing. I was admit i just wanted to wear a strapless bra and she pushed me into wearing the long front shaper bra and she was right. I wanted A line or Ball gown and my budget at the top of what DB carries so I could try on anything in my size. I ended up with 6 dresses, one I didn't like at all on the hanger ( it was A line and champagne) but Manie said "its in your size and you like the shape just try it you will be suprised" Well when it came time to try all the dresses picked on, she said "start with the one you like lease", well I LOVED it on, the shape and color flattered me SO much. She laid the train so my sister could take pictures to send my mom (she was working) and was so supportive of everything. She of course said I could put it on hold for a deposit and if I end up picking another it was transferable, but I didnt want my money stuck in the store so I said I would take the chance if it was gone. In the end I loved the first one I tried on, but my mom wasn't able to come until the next day and I had an appt at Jon's in Tampa (big mistake DONT go!!!). After going there the next day I came BACK to David's with my mom. I called the store on the way to let Manie know. When we came in Manie had a room ready for me with the dress and under garments, including a new cup size. She said she had been thinking after I left and thought this size would work better (again she was right). Needless to say I got this dress. And my mom (who use to be a seamstress) said how much better quality and better put together this dress was over the Jon's bridal ones! I will say I have no idea about ordering a dress from them or alterations. I bought the dress and walked out with it (in my size) and my mom is doing all the alterations! read more

Found my daughters wedding dress at Davids Bridal! Was a very exciting and happy moment. Dress fit a little snug but sales person indicated next size up would be way big, plus the dress had an extra 2" of fabric which would be more then she needed. So dress ordered in size tried on. Dress came in and my daughter tried on, felt same as previous dress and she scheduled her alteration appointment. When she went in, she was told there is no extra 2" and that sales person should of ordered 1 size up. Alteration charge was in excess of $600.00, but would of been maybe $300 if she would if sized up. Alterations said they would do their best but no guarantee and suggested my daughter loose weight. My daughter wears a size 6 dress, not an appropriate comment! It seems there is some major communication issues between sales staff and alterations. Issue needs to be addressed. read more

We were told oh don't have them if you want to see them you have to buy them and then they get shipped here. Also made us find the dresses in my daughter's size. Worse sale person ever. Let me start by saying I was very excited for my wedding dress shopping day...I flew my niece in town, had my mom and my close friend with me to enjoy the experience...so disappointing. On arriving we had to wait a few minutes for my "stylist"...no big deal. Once she arrived I was pointed to the three racks of dresses to pick from....isn't this called David's Bridal? Meanwhile my friend shows up with adorable baskets for all of us with cute "survival" goodies (little bottle of wine, water, tissues, snacks etc)...immediately the "stylist" says..."you can't drink that wine here!"...cool, wasn't planning on busting out a warm bottle of Pinot Grigio. I struggle to pick 4 dresses to try on, and am making my way to the dressing room when I ask for a water or Diet Coke...my stylist says "there's a bottle in your basket your friend brought."...really?? I tried on a few, liked one, asked if I could put it in hold for a day and was told no. Peace out David's bridal...not only was it not enjoyable, it made me feel like crap on a day I should feel beautiful and doted on...I highly suggest All Brides To Be...this boutique was amazing, I should have taken the advice to begin with...and they gave me a cold bottle of water :) read more

This was a terrible experience. We had Donna as our "consultant" in our search for bridesmaids dresses. She made zero attempt to help us pick out or try on dresses. I had to hunt her down to find a different size and she was at the front desk running numbers for dresses I did not express any interest in. She was not pleasant or excited or anything. I was a little apprehensive about this store while reading all the reviews, but with my firm budget I thought I would at least give it a try. I am so thankful I did. That was the most amazing experience. Chris was our stylist, and she was absolutely amazing. So friendly and accomodating. She took everything that I asked for and brought me exactly that. Even when myself and my bridesmaides went a little nuts looking for the perfect bridesmaids dresses she was always right behind. Running back and forth for different sizes and the smile never left her face. In 2 1/2 hours I found my perfect bridal gown and the perfect dresses for my three bridesmaids with no stress at all. The fact that a bridal store only rates above 2 stars should speak volumes to corporate. This store is an absolute FAILURE!!! Update on my daughters experience and my recent post. She called the Tampa David's Bridal and explained to them what happened at this awful location and how she spent 20 minutes crying her heart out in the changing room because the staff here were so unhelpful and were LYING to her!! They told her to come to their store. My daughter went into the Tampa Davids Bridal and had a FANTASTIC experience.with Chuck, Nicole and Gabby. They did everything to make this better and my daughter spent $500 more on a different dress!!! This is the kicker... My daughter had found blood on her original bridal dress!! The Clearwater store saw on the computer that my daughter was now in the Tampa store. While my daughter was being treated with dignity and respect the Clearwater store called the Tampa store to warn them and explained they made up the LIE about the 60 day exchange policy because of the blood. 1. It wasn't my daughters blood - lesson to everyone - always check the dress especially when it's already packed up for you!! 2. The Tampa store exchanged the dress for a beautiful and more expensive one 3. The manager of the Tampa store simply took some solution and removed any signs of the blood from the original dress. Conclusion: DO NOT step into the Clearwater branch of David's Bridal. Make the extra drive to Tampa, Way more selection and OUTSTANDING people!! Save yourself the trouble and just don't. To start, my bridesmaid dress had to be ordered. The order number or dress number or however they are coded was in the system from the bride. They somehow ordered the wrong dress and in the wrong size. Then by the time this wrong dress was delivered, it was too late to order the correct one. I made an appointment to have this humongous dress fitted and when i arrived to my appointment 10 minutes early, the staff member rudely informed me it would be at least an hour that she just started on the woman. (Why you would start fitting someone 10 minutes before my appointment is my question). She graciously let me know I could just shop around the area and she would call me. So I did. An hr and a half later, with no call I returned the store where she said she had been calling me... well she wrote my phone number down incorrectly. Since the dress basically needed to be cut in half and remade- it naturally was altered poorly. Charged full price for everything with no apologies or accommodations. At least it wasn't my wedding dress is the only "good" thing I can say about my experience. read more

I had a bad experience at this store when I bought a bridesmaid dress, as I wasn't helped or greeted at all. However, when I got engaged I decided to come look at dresses (with no expectation that I'd find anything...but I did :) ). Well, as a bride I can say that I was treated with great care. Of course they wanted me to buy the dress so they were friendly but even throughout the pick ups, alterations, etc they were always very nice and didn't try to oversell. Yes, they charge a fortune for alterations but you do have the option to do those elsewhere. My dress was very delicate so I didn't want to take my chances somewhere else. They did a beautiful job. So the selection here is good, its a chain so check out the website to do some pre-shopping to look at their styles. THe best part about this place is that they have various dresses in various colors to choose from. So if you have someone in your bridal party who are shaped differently, you can let them choose the best dresss for their shape as long as its in a certain color. Plus they're a chain so if all your bridal party don't live in your area, they can just go to the one closest to them to pick up their dress or try soemthing on. ONly thing is - its not unique. It is a chain. But the prices can be cheaper than a non-chain - depending ont he dress. read more

David Bridal should include alterations with their dress price. I think they running a business within a business. People pay $500 for a dress and then $500 for alterations. That's not right. Make the dress right to begging with..Sizes were not normal. I ordered size 2, when I had to reorder size 0 and still had alterations to do. And I thought I'm in a great shape.. It took me at least 3 months to get it done. Good I started shopping for my wedding dress half a year in advance... Look for a better place. read more

My mother had a bad experience when dress shopping with my sister in law, so I didn't have high expectations for this shop. I had already bought my dress in Arizona, but mom and I stopped in with no appointment, in order to get my flower girl dress and look for a dress for after the wedding. I had two ladies that helped me and they were both really nice. They even found my dress for me, in my size so I could try it on and show my mom since she wasn't able to be there when I bought my dress in AZ. While I was trying on I described what I was looking for in an after dress for hitting the Vegas strip. One of the ladies came back with two options, one of them being absolutely perfect and on sale. I ended up getting that dress, my shoes, my hair piece, my flower girl dress and hair piece and I had a really good experience here. read more

I didn't have an appointment, but that didn't seem to be an issue at all, even with it being a busy weekend. One of the girls at the front desk was a bit snarky when I asked if they had a certain dress and they didn't, I said I'd try on other dresses anyway since my main must have was lace... She says "oh fancy" as I walk away in her nasty, sarcastic tone of voice. The rest of my experience was great and even though I didn't have an appointment, a consultant helped me pull dresses, try them and everything. She was so sweet and wasn't pushy at all. She was running back and forth between multiple brides like a champ. She even talked me into trying on a dress that my fiancé liked that I hated... and it was the dress I ended up ordering. I had set up an appointment for 5 and my friend was running late. They were able to push me back to 5:30. They weren't busy but they seemed short staffed. They got a lot of different dresses for me to try on but everytime I was ready to get out of the dress my girl was putting away other things. Multi-tasking at it's best but i wish she paid a little more attention to me. She did say they were short staffed and she was trying to get stuff put away before the end of the night. If you go to look for dresses I say go to this David's over the one on Kennedy who will give you no service and let you fend for yourself. So Thanks David's bridal Clearwater for helping even though you were the only one working in the store coz the other girls weren't. =) I forgot my sales lady's name but when I figure it out i'll post it. I went to David's bridal because I had a bridesmaid dress that was ordered online and too small for me. I was told prior to my visit that David's bridal did not do exchanges so I was a little nervous going in. When I got there they called the manager and her name was Laura M. She helped me such a great deal that I had to come on and write this review which I must say I never do! Laura not only was very friendly and very helpful she was able to find me another dress one size bigger and have it delivered the following week because the wedding is in two weeks. From this experience I will definitely refer people to this David's bridal on Gulf to Bay in ClearwAter because of Laura. Thanks Laura for making this a very easy and stress free experience! My fiance went in on August 15th to look at dresses with her friend and had a wonderful time with a very helpful salesperson named Donna R. She made an appointment for today at 4pm to have some minor alterations done on the bottom of the dress. She went in with her daughter, headed to the back to see the seamstress who was not there at first. The seamstress was paged, came out and proceeded to be extremely rude to my fiance....sayiing in a rude tone, " I was eating my lunch. What do you want?" My fiance explained she just needed the bottom of the dress hemmed. The seamstress proceeded to tell my fiance she cannot store the dress there which my fiance already understood. She just wanted the bottom hemmed My fiance is French and speaks with an accent. The seamstress began talking to my fiance's daughter because she assumed my fiance didn't understand what she was saying. Anyhow, the seamstress named Veronica/Veronika acted very rude and caused my fiance to run out of David's crying with no desire to ever go back. I went in to speak to the manager, Lorrie, who was very kind and offered to work with my fiance if she chooses to give them another chance. The bottom line...Veronica might be good at alterations, but she has a horrible attitude and should be written up or fired. This is supposed to be a beautiful and happy experience for the bride to be and Veronica ruined that. She was rude, belittled my fiance. Excuse me if I am rambling, but I am very upset. read more

I had a bad experience with Clearwater David's Bridal. Our consultant was unprofessional, her close was dirty and old, her hair was not done and oily, she didn't wear any make up, her nails had some rest of nail polish. And I don't have any problem with anyone not wearing makeup, but for a wedding store or any profesional environment I except a minimum of a presentable look. Especially when this is about beauty and luxuary and when people spend thousands of dollars in a dress. We didnt feel very welcomed. I tried to have some advise but I didn't get any. Honestly there is one dress that I might be interesrted in, but the idea of speding thusands of dollars with this store really stops me from buying the dress there. It's a pity. read more

Last weekend, my best friend got married. I was the maid of honor, and naturally, pretty nervous about whether the dress would still fit or not - I had ordered it months ago. Well, this final visit exceeded my expectations and more... About two weeks ago, I went in for my final fitting. I met a wonderful woman named Wen in the back (I believe she does all of the alterations) and she answered a few of my questions about sizing. She was a huge help! I proceeded to meet with my consultant, AmyCaitlin. She was personable, and she was so sweet that it felt like I was meeting with a friend, and not just a consultant. She did her job while putting me at ease when it came to my worries about the dress still fitting. AmyCaitlin assured me that if it didn't fit, any alterations would be taken care of promptly. Thankfully, it did fit! She rang me out when I was ready to make my final purchase, and was pleasant and throughout the entire transaction. Next time I am in any event I will DEFINITELY be returning to this location!! And, I will always ask for AmyCaitlin. Thank you all for everything! read more

My wedding is 11 months away. I am in the process of losing weight, only half way to my goal weight right now, and absolutely DID NOT want to go dress shopping until at least the end of the summer. My BFF made me an appointment yesterday and FORCED me to go. Before we went we looked through the website & saved several dresses as favorites. When we got to the shop I was far from anything remotely resembling enthusiastic about the prospect of trying on wedding dresses. We checked in and were assigned to Nikki. Nikki was energetic and friendly and ready to get down to business! I decided immediately that I liked her (which doesn't happen often for me). The process started and I tried on what had to be at least 7-8 dresses (although to me it felt like a hundred!). Nikki went through a checklist of each dress, keeping mental notes, asking me what I liked or didn't like about it, could I see myself walking down the aisle in it, did I like it more or less than the last dress, etc. They were all pretty and I liked something about all of them, but I didn't love any of them on me (I'm apparently "too critical of myself" I was told). My appointment was almost over and we were going to re-try 2 dresses that I liked the most so Nikki left me in the dressing room to go retrieve one of the 2 dresses. However, when she returned to me she had a different dress than I expected and told me that she wanted me to try just one more before we re-tried the others. I reluctantly complied to appease her and my BFF so I could just end the whole dress trying-on ordeal. OMG! I was in LOVE with the dress - so much so that I didn't even want to re-try anything else. I said "Yes to the Dress" and purchased it immediately. God bless Nikki who just might be the most patient person on the planet - putting up with my complaining and reluctance the whole time like a champ! She was so encouraging & empathetic - she definitely made the whole experience much less agonizing for me than it could have been. Thank you David's Bridal & especially Nikki! Have not been impressed. Too crowded, too cramped, BAD customer service. My daughter purchased her dress here, so then I went to purchase mine. Sales associate Michael was snotty and rushed! When I found the dress I like he tells me he can't get it in my size until after the wedding or the next sixe up for four months but he can order one FOUR SIZES TOO BIG that he can get here in TWO months so I can pay to have it altered! I also asked to have other stores checked as I was willing to drive over and pick it up. Closest he could find was Little Rock Arkansas (I live in Tampa). I went ahead and purchased but had them note on my purchase that I could return it due to the size issues. The next day I got on the internet and looked up David's Bridal for something else and then just happened to check my dress. Imagine my surprise when the website showed I could have it in THREE DAYS! My helpful (Sarcasm) associate Michael never mentioned I could order it on line! I immediately called the store and they firmly told me they did not do refunds. They backed down when they read the notes on my sale. But they made me come all the way into the store to do the refund, couldn't refund it over the phone even though it was on my daughter's DB credit card. Last but not least....even though I purchased a dress my size the fitting cost as much the dress. I was shocked that a few seams could cost that much. Ridiculous! Wished there had been someplace else we could have gone but my daughter's bridesmaids are coming in from all over the US and Canada so we had to use someplace they could all go. I was told appointments were necessary so i made one and waited a few days for it. the girl who walked in before me did not have an apt, she was helped with a consultant right away. i waited 15 min and no one ever came. i grabbed my own dresses, asked for a fitting room and did it all on my own. no one even blinked or offered to help. I actually left in tears because i was completely pushed aside. I went to the Clearwater location last night. This was my first time ever going dress shopping so I didn't know you have to schedule and appointment. Id looked online and saw a few dresses I liked and wrote the style numbers down so that I could try them on. As soon as i walked in I was greeted by a woman that was sitting on her ass behind the counter. She told me immediately that bc i did not have an appointment I was not able to try on the dresses. and there was only one lady available to help try on and she was with another bride. I can totally understand that. She looked up the 5 dresses and only one was in the store. so then she decided that it was ok to try it on since it was only 1 dress. I asked for it in a size 8 but the mean lady gave it to me in a 12. The lady in the back helping was really nice. I didn't like it so I took it off and went back to the front of the store. When I went back to the front of the store i walked into overhearing the woman saying that i should not be here and she's going to tell me to call back another time and reschedule. She sounded like she was so pissed at me. Her face was blood shot red. She was talking pure shit about how ladies come in unscheduled. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! My sister went in to try on wedding dresses, and she found a dress that she loved! The associate working with her claimed that that dress that she loved, was discontinued. Unfortunately, the dress was not in her size. We asked her to go look in the system to see if there were any more in the country. She came back quite quickly claiming that there were no more. She then brought my sister a similar dress that my sister fell in love with! The price was FIVE times the amount my sister was willing to spend. I noticed (while walking in the store) a sign on the door saying that EVERY wedding dress was on sale, I asked the NEW SALE price of the NEW (out of budget) Dress and the associate claimed that not every dress was on sale (contrary to what the sign said at the front door.) The associate then pushed the sale hard, thank goodness my sister was strong enough to resist. My sister was quite disappointed when we left, we looked the dress up on their website and not only was it in her size, it was available in EVERY SIZE!! We chose to go to a different David's bridal, to share our experience with the company. It just so happens that at THAT location of David's bridal, not only was her dress there... but it was in the size that the original associate from the original store swore up and down there were no more in the entire country! My sister ended up buying the dress of her dreams! But WAIT!!! There's more! I called the manager of the original store and share our experience with the company, the lies, the inconsistencies, the pressures to buy outside our comfort zone etc. etc. the manager actually said "I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU WANT ME TO SAY!! She got the dress she wanted and I'm sooooo happy for her...." (Her tone was pathetically fake!!) This place is a joke! Save yourself and go to another bridal store. They don't care about you, they only care about commissions and playing on your emotions to make a sale. read more

Absolutely aweful customer service - even WITH an appointment. There was no where for the group to sit while the bride tried on several wedding gowns. The woman who was pulling gowns was very unclassy and got extremely pushy with the bride. I also didn't appreciate her bad-mouthing other bridal boutiques or pressuring the bride to make a decision THAT NIGHT when the wedding is plenty far enough away. They refused to hold the dress for even 12 hours -- and even threatened the bride several times that the dress would "probably be gone soon" and "it would be $50.00 more tomorrow - only on sale today". Are you kidding me?! This poor pride had a price range in mind, and that was beyond a low blow. The annual sale of $99 dresses is totally a bait and switch too - they have about 5 dresses that once sold, are not offered again - and you have to buy all the accessories/undergarments to get the deal on the dress. Not worth it. Not worth the stress. Not worth the time. Plenty of other places with MUCH MORE selection, prices, styles, and significantly better customer service. read more
