Not sure why this place has a 3 star rating when it clearly deserves a full 5 star. I know everyone…read moreis sad that Old Time Pottery barn was here and is gone but Gabe's isn't even in the same bracket of a store! So this was my first time here at any Gabe's and I had no idea it would be this big with this big of a selection of clothes! Better than TjMaxx, Beals, Ross etc. There are lots of clearance racks of different things. Can't believe ive never heard of or even been here before this. Went in for just a t shirt and $250 later I got all kinds of stuff! $250 here would be like $600-700 anywhere else with all the clothes I got!. I have my summer clothes set for now and will be back for my winter stuff. But I guess I will pop in here before then for some more summer gear

When I was at the other location, I met this really nice lady who works at TJMAXX down the street,…read moreright in the check out line at Gabe's. We got to talking about swimsuits & she told me that the other location, this location, has a large selection of vintage style swimsuits "mix & match" mixed bottoms & mixed tops for ladies. I love to mix & match my swimsuits. I never wear a matching set. I hate matching sets. I like to match my own sets. I have a gazillion of them, so i'm always looking for new pieces to "match" to my enormous collection. Anyhoo, she told me that this is where she goes to shop for hers as she likes to mix and match her tops & bottoms also. So, anyhoo moi went to check it out & she was absolutely correct. They have an enormous section of vintage style swimsuits. Tops, Bottoms, one pieces, all kinds of vintage style swimsuits. I actually found one of my most favorite tops, the one shoulder strap top. The Grecian toga top in white !!!! I cannot believe it !!!! What luck! If you're looking to replace some classic swimsuits or just need a new top or bottom to go to some of your favorites, check out this location. Will Return.

For me, this outdoor strip "mall" is a mix of both good and bad…read more The only real reason I ever visit here is that it the closest, decent "mass retail" hub near where I live. The GOOD: The Publix here is one of the best in our area. A former Albertsons, then a Safeway, it is very large and managed well. The Target is OK, but often jam-packed. I prefer the quieter shopping experience at the other store on Park street. The Petsmart is great and the service is always friendly. The staff at the Michael's location here are always very helpful. I find the Labcorp location to be the best and most efficient that I have ever visited. Smiley Thai is one of the best kept Thai take-out "secrets" in our area! The BAD: There is a significant amount of "bad characters" that often congregate here, especially after dark. Unfortunately, this appears to be more common when there is a major "bus hub" in the area, like the one just south of Target. There always seems to be a small group of them loitering just south of the Publix, hoping that I have spare wealth to gladly and willingly give away for unknown reasons. My apologies, but I am on a strict budget. Don't ever fall in love with a smaller store here. They come and go often. The turnover rate is quite high. I miss that "Bulk Nation" location! They used to have my favorite movie theater here, but I have not been to any since 2013. People constantly checking their cell phones every 5 minutes ruined the experience for me, forever. Never again So try your luck, you may really enjoy shopping here!

This is a solid discount store as long as you are not looking for anything specific. I had actually…read morejust visited the Ollie's in Lakeland, which was a little bit better, but I'm trying not to compare the two since they are not close together. This Ollie's has a reasonable selection of books, and I noticed some books here that I hadn't seen at the other Ollie's. All the prices are a great value. My only gripe is that one of the books that I wanted was on a super high shelf, and it wasn't clear how I was supposed to get it, so I had to be creative with how I retrieved the book. I browsed the other aisles but didn't see anything in particular. I was mainly looking for books and excess tea; neither Ollie's had much of a tea selection. The employee that rang us up was nice and friendly, and there was basically no wait, although it might have been because they were closing soon. I definitely think a good value can be had here as long as you're not looking for anything super specific. I enjoy going to Ollie's for puzzle books and coloring books, of which there are many.

This place is a cross between Odd Lots, granny's yard sale and the back room of your local Walmart…read more It's a large chain that pretty much sealed the doom of Odd Lots. While it's mostly general merchandise they sell, one can also find a pretty decent variety of cleaning supplies, personal care products, clothing, bedding, toys, pet needs and even non-perishable foods! Plenty of bagged and boxed candy too. The store seems a good bit cleaner than the Odd Lots that once occupied this space. It's also better organized and has (somewhat) friendlier employees, albeit not all of 'em seem on board with that. Anyway, it dampens the "holiday spirit" of the store. Lots of holiday and seasonal goods for sale too. They got nothing on Robert's Christmas Wonderland on Gulf to Bay, but one of THOSE is probably one too many except in small doses. Meanwhile, Christmas music was playing in the store. Between every one or two songs was another Ollie's ad. Each one of 'em ends with the same phrase as though barked by a group of military recruits... "Ollies: good stuff CHEAP!!" That pretty well sums it up: hook, line and sinker. I'm sure if you looked hard enough you can find THEM too. I myself won't be doing so, but my dear Queen Bee loves the place. To me, it beats the be-jiggers outta Dollar Parlor, Greenback General or Goodwill. That doesn't really say very much, but then again: enough to expect from a discounter for the Scratch & Dent Special Brigade.
