As a plus-size bride, I was terrified to try on wedding dresses because I thought it would end with me feeling bad about myself and crying in my car. Sara B totally rocked my appointment and had me feeling like a beautiful queen in the wedding dresses we picked out. I pulled a bunch, then she picked some more based on the ones I chose. I ended up loving dresses I didn't think I loved on the hanger and hated some dresses on my body even though they were gorgeous on the hanger. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that David's Bridal has revamped its sizing so that it runs more true to your street size. I am usually a size 18/20 and so were all of the dresses that fit me like a glove. Back in 2012 when I got my prom dress from DB, I had to size up 4 sizes to find a dress that fit me, which took a hit to my self-esteem. Sara was accommodating, so friendly, and super fun to work with. Seriously, we had the best time. She suggested the best accessories to really make the dresses I love really pop that much more (different veils, belts, etc.). She then helped my sisters try on some bridesmaid dresses even though we had originally only planned for the bridal appointment. Sara had so many great tips and suggestions, especially since she had tried on many of the same dresses so she knew what would look best on my body type. I can't say enough good things. I really enjoyed my bridal appointment here and am so glad that we finally have a store here in GNV so I don't have to drive elsewhere to search for dresses. We will 100% be back!! read more

I went in today with intentions to just get measured for a dress I found on the David's bridal website to be sure that I got the right size and I met with Fallon. She was awesome! She was professional, funny and super sweet. The customer service from the entire staff was top notch from my entrance through the door and I felt like a VIP client when I went in. They had my name on the dressing room door, bottled water in my dressing room and all. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a great bridal experience while seeking a dress. I had such a great experience trying on bridal dresses with the help of Charlotte! She pulled dresses that were just my style and a couple fun wild cards that I really enjoyed. I've been to a couple other locations nearby and this store is by far the best. The dressing room area is so comfortable and the whole store is gorgeous. Diana was very helpful with a last-minute dress exchange on a bridesmaids dress. We called ahead to make sure it was possible and when we walked in Diana pulled a couple of dresses to look at that were along the lines of what we needed and made sure that those dresses were going to come in on time. I would like to specially mention Ms Amanda for her outstanding customer service rendered to us last Sunday. She was friendly, pleasant yet very professional with how she interacted with us. Personally, I think David's Bridal is cheap, tacky, and unoriginal. But, when you're part of a bridal party, you don't get to choose where your dress is from. And I understand the convenience aspect, especially if all of your bridesmaids are from different states. Really, though, this review is about one person in particular, Nicole, at the David's Bridal in Gainesville. I had a dress emergency that involved multiple stores from multiple states. Nicole was able to remedy my near disaster...she was truly a lifesaver! The incompetence that thrived in David's Bridal stores in New Jersey, California, Georgia, and Kansas made me doubt whether decent customer service was as easy to perform as I thought it was. Employees at these stores couldn't use a computer system, find the correct dress size, or even give me a call back. But Nicole was able to bypass all this bullshit and save the day...Thanks! read more

I didn't want to shop at the Walmart of weddings. I really didn't. However, when you're a bride on a budget, with a limited time frame and no help (my mother, sisters and best friends all live out of state), you sort of have to take what you can get. So I bit the bullet and went dress shopping. I had a good experience with an associate (I think her name was Ami?) and actually found a dress I loved. But when I came back to pay for it, Ami wasn't there and the person who helped me was rude beyond belief. I was quickly disenchanted. Without going into too much detail, there was a misunderstanding about a veil I wanted to purchase and some other poor management/customer service behaviors displayed. Seriously, just don't go here. Drive to Ocala or Orlando or Tallahassee or anywhere else. Just don't spend your hard-earned money here!! read more

Every step there's been some sort of issue with getting my bridesmaid dress. Went and tried on the agreed upon dress and they gave me a size 10. It fit perfectly, so I figured their sizes must run super small as I'm usually a 6 or an 8. Talked to a bridesmaid in a different city who is the same size as me (but bigger in the chest) and she said she ordered a size 6. I was confused. Do different stores have different sizing charts? I called to ask why this is so and got an "I don't know". Went back to DB the next day because I wanted to try the dress again, and got attitude from the woman I talked to on the phone, and again they couldn't tell me why there was a discrepancy in sizes. My boyfriend overheard the other consultants muttering that I was a 6, MAYBE an 8.... proof I'm not having image issues (I even checked all my dresses I owned!). 3 months and 1 week goes by and I don't hear anything from them so I call to get a status update. My dress had come in a month before.... The woman on the phone insisted I got an automated email and phone even when I told her I didn't! I know how to check my email and voicemail, thank you very much. Went in, tried on the dress, and guess what? It's big. They couldn't order me a new one because it's discontinued so they told me I had to pay $50 in alterations. It's an $83 dress.... seriously? My boyfriend argued with them and had me get in the size 10 sample dress to show them that that one fit perfectly and it was their fault the dress was sewn big. They finally comped the alterations (and now I must wait another month for the dress). Then this evening I got a phone call saying my dress was done and that I must come pick it up within 14 days. I asked if it was done in alterations already and the woman had no idea what I was talking about. She put me on hold and came back to tell me that yes, it was still in alterations and that they hadn't updated it in their computer system. Listen, I'm not snobby enough to expect white glove service just because this is a bridal store. And I know my bridesmaid dress was only $83, a spit in the bucket for the commission with these ladies. But I do have a partner of over 4 years, and when it comes my time to purchase an expensive white gown... I'm going to have my doubts about going to DB. read more

How amazing is Laura! She read me like a book based off of my visions and likes and dislikes. And spent so much time with me! I felt like the only bride in the world at this store because of her attention and respect. She was so sweet and even bonded with my mother. Admittedly, there was a bride before me (who found her dress, yay!) that meant that my appointment didn't start immediately but I was unconcerned. The entire crew continually assured me that I was not being neglected. It made me feel great about the appointment I was about to have. Back to Laura, she was amazing at getting the people I needed when I had questions about particular dresses. Even if she didn't have an answer or couldn't tell me 100%, she always made sure to get someone who had an answer for me. The entire crew padding around offering compliments and opinions was quite lovely as well. Bridal shopping is hard as a plus sized woman but the ladies around me seemed to be very aware of this fact and were very careful about the wording they used and were all too happy to let me use my own bra and skip the slip. Thanks for the great time ladies! The only reason I didn't buy was because of a tragedy that had occurred in my life after the appointment was already set. I came to David's Bridal in a panic when I tried on my bridesmaid dress after a few months and it didn't fit... and the wedding was only two weeks away!! I walked into the store with tears in my eyes and was greeted by MALI ZEA aka the woman who would save my life! I told her what was happening and she was very patient and so so helpful and immediately went into problem solving mode to see what size would fit and if we could get the dress in on time. I did not have an appointment and she did not make me feel rushed or like she didn't want to be helping me. Countless phone calls to stores around the country and to the corporate office, and about an hour later, the new dress was ordered and being shipped! This would have been more than enough but then she asked the manager if it was possible to count this as an exchange even though I had bought it at a different store, so on top of helping me get the new dress here, I didn't have to pay for two dresses! It is amazing how selfless and helpful this woman was because at many other places, they would have just sold the dress to me in order to make a commission, but Mali was so kind and understanding and did everything in her power to make sure that I could be there standing next to my best friend on her big day. The wedding is a week away and I'm hoping that the dress gets here on time, but even if it doesn't I was so lucky to have walked into this David's Bridal and experienced top notch customer service where Mali went above and beyond the call of duty and did every thing in her power to help me. I could not have been more pleased with my dress experience at the *new* DB in Gainesville. My assistant, Moxi, was extremely friendly and helpful. She helped me find my dream dress...I could picture it but I just didn't know if it existed! I went when the $99 sale was going on. I also showed up without an appointment (wouldn't recommend now) and was helped right away. The only reason why I did not give 5 stars is because the financial department needs some work and I didn't like all the paperwork/registering at the beginning. My parents were paying for my dress and decided to do the DB car with 0 financing for the first year...needless to say I ended up having to call my dad to the store to co-sign, so he and my mom could apply for the card...then it was declined. This was all discussed right at the check out counter in front of other customers. I then applied and was instantly approved. Embarassing for my parents who are *well* qualified for a credit card and unfortunate for my credit because now I have another card, opened, that I will only use once. I always have vendors, from everywhere, calling or emailing me. It gets kinda annoying. DB has been in business for years so I trusted them! Overall, would definitely recommend them. read more

I made an appointment to see wedding dresses. Everything was going well, but two dresses into my appointment, my consultant started helping another client and it was up to my friend and I to find a dress. I waited around while the other client got showered with more attention(she was buying a really expensive dress). My consultant was really nice, just overbooked and probably overworked. I left disappointed but found my dream dress in Orlando at the Camille La Vie Group USA store and it was under budget! David's Bridal is NOT your only option if you are on a budget! Beware of giving them your email! They sold my email and I've had to deal with spam almost every day because of it. read more

Was so sure none of them would fit me properly or none of them would mesh well with my vision. However, Laura was so fantastic & patient with me. She truly made our visit a wonderful experience... David's Bridal was my 2nd shop that I went to for dress shopping. I had already gone to another dress shop, found a dress I loved, but wanted to keep looking. I ended up with a wonderful consultant named Nicole. She was AMAZING! She went above and beyond in my opinion especially compared to the last place I went. I ended up finding the dress of my dreams - far better than my first choice and it was because Nicole really helped me see the end vision with adding color, the right vail, and bling to the dress. She even pulled out some amazing shoes to go with the dress. I was in tears at how wonderful the dress was. She ended our session, after I said yes to the dress, by really making me think about my wedding day, envisioning my future with my soon to be husband, and walking down the aisle in this dress. My daughter and I stopped in to David's just to look and possibly make an appointment to come back at a later time for her to try on dresses. She is a curvy girl so we were looking for something in the 20-22 range and barely got pointed in the right direction. We ended up making an appointment at the DB in Orlando and were so happy with the treatment there that all of the bridesmaids ended up driving down there for an appointment the next weekend to try on and order their dresses. Sad to say that we had to make a 2 hour drive 4 times to get what we needed due to lack of customer service at the local store. I have gone in there several times to purchase swatches and have been unimpressed by their service for that as well. read more

I was absolutely disgusted with the customer service at this location. In fact, there was none. I visited this store with one of my bridesmaids to give myself a better idea of what style dress I want to wear at my wedding. Upon entering, a woman (medium blonde hair & glasses, maybe the manager) was helpful in registering me in the system. She explained to me that she would keep all of the dresses I loved on file & would make an appointment with me before I left to bring my family in and have them view them also. From that point on, the service was not only disappointing, but downright rude. Out of the 5 employees in the store, not ONE employee helped us in finding a dress that suited my style. My bridesmaid & I found 4 dresses by ourselves. After standing around for about 5 minutes, arms full of dresses, an employee opened a fitting room door for us with not a word spoken. In the hour I spent searching and trying on dresses, not a single employee spoke to us. We were completely disregarded and blatantly ignored by every staff member in the store. However, I did find a beautiful Oleg Cassini Strapless Ballgown that I absolutely fell in love with. I would have loved to purchase this $1,350 dress if it were not for the fact that I stood at the fitting room with this dress on for over 20 minutes, waiting to be acknowledged by anyone willing to ring it up. Obviously upset, my bridesmaid and I headed for the door. As it had been for the past hour, not one associate spoke to us upon leaving. The woman who registered me also did not speak to me on our way out; she did not help me make an appointment to invite my family and she did not save the dresses I loved because she and none of the staff knew what dresses I liked/didn't like. This was by far the absolute worst customer service I have ever seen. The experience here was one to remember and one that will be passed on: flat out disrespectful. Would not recommend to anyone. I will never return to this store, nor will I buy the $1400 dress I fell in love with. I couldn't be more glad that this terrible store lost my sale. Awful. read more

I found a dress at Bridals by Lori in Atl however it was $3000 over budget. I was heartbroken and spent three months trying to figure out how to afford it. My fiance convinced me to go back to Davids where i had tried on a different dress some months earlier and see how if i liked any more. I got there and picked out about a dozen dresses until Amy came over and introduced herself and started finding out what I wanted in a dress. She started putting gowns away assuring me we would find "the one". I tried on one (the same one from before) and loved it. Then she brought in another dress for me to try and DING DING DING ew had a winner. She was so sweet and even taped me ringing the bell and hugged me as I cried. I dont have family in this area so for her to be such a great FRIEND to me was unbeleiveable. I spent hours with her that night and reserved my dress immedaitely. I came back with family and had the whole bell ringing experience again and she retaped it so i could keep and treasure it. I loved Davids Bridal and they were 100% up front and honest with me about how the dresses looked, did not try to dupe me in to a more expensive one I could not afford just ot make a commission and i highly recommend them to anyone!! read more

There was an amazing clearance sale I saw from David's Bridal online, and wanted to have my bridesmaids go into the store to get sized and place our order there. I knew we had to jump on the deal so our sizes wouldn't be sold out, so we had to act quick. I called the store in the AM to see if there happened to be an appointment available around noon so the girls and I could go on our lunch break. I explained to the woman that regardless, we were going to still go around noon and wait a little if we had to. She didn't seem to listen to me, because she said the only times she had were 1:30 and 5:30. Again, I repeated myself that the only time we could go was around noon. She then continued, telling me how they prefer to have appointments so they could give their undivided attention to the girls, etc. at this point I cut her off explaining we could wait and only need quick measurements for 3 girls (I know people walk-in all the time). We arrived around noon and I knew right away the woman I spoke with on the phone was the blonde older woman sitting at the front. There were several girls waiting around her desk, to the side, and this woman was taking her sweet time with another customer, not bothering to acknowledge me or the any other girls that were waiting. It was about 5 mins until I was able to speak with her. I told her I had called earlier and just needed quick measurements when they had a few minutes. She then asked if we were going to buy from Davids Bridal and then continued to help the next customer. I went back with my bridesmaids as they were looking at the different sample colors to find the color we saw online. After 15-20 mins I went looking for the woman up front, who again was helping a customer. After a few mins of waiting I saw another staff member just walking around, looking like she wasn't sure what she was doing...trying to look busy. I quickly went over to her to ask if she had a moment to take measurements. She was super sweet and came right over to the girls. As she began measuring she was laughing, saying that this was her first time measuring a customer. After quick measurements we were told by the woman at the front that they can't order clearance dresses, explaining how they are old styles, not in season anymore, and may be out of stock. I didn't understand because if it shows availability online, it's available. At this point I was super frustrated...at all the wasted time, lack of professionalism, and just rudeness. So now basically we had to use my phone to order our dresses online. When we looked at the girls measurements, they were totally off. One of the girls is between a size 4-6, but her bust was at a size 0 and hips a size 10!?! We had to bow just scratch the measurements and just had them try in different sizes until we found one that worked. Was such a miserable experience and huge waste of time! read more

Walk-ins are NOT welcome here. I drove an hour to get here and they told me I couldn't try on dresses without an appointment, not even off the clearance rack. They said they were booked SOLID and I couldn't make an appointment today, despite the fact that there were like two people in the whole store. It's absolutely ridiculous that I can't try on a dress while there is another bride in the store. Why do you have 12 fitting rooms then? This isn't Kleinfelds, honey. Never coming back here. I went 3 times & they truly say the 3rd time is the charmer. My first 2 times were horrible, they would briefly explain and the put the dresses in the fitting room entrance and then leave, I had to help my bridesmaids put their dresses on, they just left, different employees actually. However, my 3rd time, I met MALI, she is the most sweetest lady I have met in a while, she explained everything step-by-step, no rush, no hassle. You guys got 3 stars only because of her! When I went to order my dress said it would be there in a month, but when I checked out it said almost 3 months which was only a week before my wedding. Obviously that couldn't happen so they put priority notes in and my dress was in 6 days later! I was so shocked when I got the email saying it's in. Can't say enough great things about this store. I was extremely lucky to have Charlotte help me. I'm very indecisive and she really helped me pick the perfect dress. She didn't mind spending as much time with me as necessary. She was always smiling and helpful. You can tell she enjoys her job. I also met Laurie the store manager and she was great, too. I'm one of the bridesmaids in my sisters wedding and We found and bought our dresses at the David's bridal in Tampa (we live in Ocala) when our dresses came in they really needed to be pressed or steamed and mine had a few dirty spots on it. Cleaning and steaming are included so we took our dresses to the closer David's in Gainesville to be cleaned and pressed. We got there told them what was up they marked the dirty spots and took the 3 dresses we were dropping off and told us to pick them up the week before the wedding explaining to us that they will be PRESSED and ready for us to wear down the isle. We came back and they couldn't find our dresses, we (the costumers) found them in the same room we dropped them off in looking as if they were never touched, on closer inspection we found my dress had been cleaned but none of the dresses look like they had been "pressed" so we asked and they assured us that they were STEAMED and that's just how they look, we explained that we were under the impression that they would be pressed and we were told that they never touch dresses with irons or direct heat. so I'm now left confused with 3 very rumpled an wrinkly bridesmaid dresses and 5 days till a wedding. augmentative an unhelpful service and nothing was done to the dresses. when/if i get married i will not be visiting this place. :( read more
