David's Bridal gets a bad rep, I know. After my maiden voyage to look at wedding dresses, to DB's NE Philadelphia location, I was downtrodden, figured I was left to pay boutique prices. However, after one failed attempt at trying on my dream dress at a boutique in Haddonfield, only to find that it made me feel stumpier and lower to the ground than I've ever felt in my life, my life companion, Elizabeth B. and I made an impromptu run to DB's Maple Shade location, near Cherry Hill Mall. Upon entering, I was greeted with a large, open space, spacious and organized, and the exact opposite of the NE Philly store. Still, I was reluctant, and told the front desk girl I was just browsing. Wanting to make up for the morning's Haddonfield bust, I figured why not try on a few things? Found a couple of items that caught my eye and was paired up with Alia, who was EXCELLENT. She wasn't pushy at all, respected my budget, and was honest. She was a great listener and I felt comfortable dropping trou in front of her, and letting her strap me into a long-line corest/bra contraption. I tried on a dress that I had my eye on from the first time I saw it online and I loved it! Also, found one random discontinued dress on the rack that happened to be on super discount and in my size and more reception-appropriate. I wound up buying both, for less than half of my total budget. Based on all of the other reviews here, I see that a lot of people have had a tough time with this location, and I can see how that's possible, having encountered one slightly prissy older sales woman on the floor, but Alia is a diamond in the rough. As for the quality of their items, I have no complaints whatsoever - as far as the items that I purchased, the quality of the fabric and embellishments is equal to that of the designer items I saw earlier at a "real" bridal salon. For a budget bride like myself, this turned out to be a perfect location. Recommended - ask for Alia. read more

I stopped in here on Sunday with my friend so she could look for a bridesmaid dress. The store was busy so I recommend making an appointment if you are going on a weekend. My friend can do any red dress as a bridesmaid so we just went in and started picking out dresses off the rack. Apparently, this is a no-no and you must check in. The ladies working there were very friendly and let her try on every dress that comes in red. Yeah so we were there for a while. And they have a huge dressing room. The best part about David's Bridal is that they have a range of dress designs in various sizes so you can get an idea of how the dress will fit. And the prices are great. Some of the dresses do seem kind of cheap but you get what you pay for. read more

This was my first stop on my dress shopping tour. The women who helped me were very pleasant and friendly, but they didn't seem particularly knowledgeable. I'm a plus size woman and David's definitely had some dresses that I could try on. I only tried on three or four before I left. Nothing really stood out as amazing. I asked them if they had colored dresses and was met with an enthusiastic YES! because apparently off white and pale pink count as colors. Perhaps that's how it is in the world of wedding dresses but its not what I had in mind. I didn't have a bad experience in the store but I will say this - absolutely do not under any circumstances give your email address to the staff. I was added to multiple mailing lists, and I even began to receive phone calls from other businesses offering a variety of bridal services. It was a massive pain in the neck to untangle myself from all of those vendors. They asked me to fill out a form when I arrived at the store and I thought nothing of it. Whoops. read more

First of all, I was not planning on visiting a DB, but had booked an appt at another salon in the area, so figured "what the heck". BIG MISTAKE. If I could give this DB a 0 I would. They do not listen to what you are looking for, they pressure you into signing up for their credit card, photographers, etc blah blah blah. Dresses are horribly cheap and the high pressure sales tactics were HORRIBLE. Do yourself a favor and run far away from this place unless you want to receive spam emails and phone calls from "approved DB vendors" for weeks after your appt. read more

horrible services. I am giving two stars instead of one only because the lady who assisted me trying on dress was nice. Other than that, the service is a total failure. first they put my wedding date wrong. actually I don't think they even asked me for that. And that totally confused my bridesmaids after they went to get their dresses and was looking under my name but couldn't find it. secondly they didn't mention it didn't come with a garment bag. I mean DB is cheap but it's still a $1400 dress. I don't mind buying one but they shipped the dress in a box and plastic bag and i ended up having to overnight a garment bag to protect it. lastly the worst to come. I found the dress dropped 100 dollars after less than two weeks I purchased it. I called and asked if they can do a price adjustment. The manager I spoke to was all over the place and couldn't match her words. She initially said she would give me store credits. Then I told her I don't live nearby and if I can use that credits in other DB store. She then said she can't do it, but her excuse is that she then said they can only do within 10 days, then within 7 days, then they can't do price adjustment on the dress is already on sale. I could't follow her logic. Every minute she came up with a new store policy that she made up. I would have bought my rest accessories there but now I will never spent a penny in DB and will do my best to tell everyone I know don't bother. Had the follow-up with Debbie and she was just as lovely and welcoming as Denise had been. Friendly staff, very helpful and great prices! I was very pleased with my experience shopping for wedding dresses here! I went early on a Sunday with my mom and sister and I was welcomed and assigned a stylist right away. Irina was fantastic! I highly recommend her. She knew my measurements just by looking at me. She helped me in and out of gowns. She ran around finding accessories and other items to help me envision everything together. She is a true professional. There was only one other bride and her family shopping at the time and we both found "the one"! We had a great time. After reading some of the other reviews here, I'm a little worried about getting the dress and ordering any alterations, but hopefully the experience will continue to be as good as the first time! TBD. I shopped at a few bridal boutiques in Philly first and you CANNOT beat the prices at David's Bridal. They also had more of the styles I was looking for. We also ended up looking at bridesmaids dresses while we were there and chose one. Again, I hope the dresses come in as ordered and we don't have any surprises. My only feedback would be to update the store's decor (and maybe exterior and parking lot) so that it feels less like a discount store and more like a bridal boutique- paint, carpet, dressing room, furniture, etc. read more

Worst experience ever. My daughter had an appointment tonight. She was pretty much ignored, we waited half an hour to try dresses on, we couldn't use the platform with the mirror because a bride with an entourage went 40 minutes over her appointment time. She could only use the mirror in the fitting room. The girl helping us was very apologetic because she was helping us and another bride. I asked to speak with the manager "Donna" who just stared at me and said nothing. When we walked away she started laughing with her co workers. I just had the most pleasurable experience any bride could ever have looking for Thee Dress. Irina is a true professional and gem. You could not of asked for someone more involved and caring when finding you the dress. She gets you suited up, with the basics, has great advice for suggestions without imposing her taste on you, she likes to see the whole picture and what she can do best for you when it comes to hunting down the dress. Although I did not get my dress from David's, I did get my flower girl dresses, my mom's and quite possibly next week, my mother in law dress. I knew that she would take such good care of some of the most important people in my life. She has that kind demeanor that tells you, she wants you to look your best and walk away with a happy grin. I went here for my very first time trying on wedding gowns. Amy is amazing. I came in alone, with only a vague idea of what I wanted. She not only picked amazing gowns and spent tons of time with me, she came in way under my price point. She made the experience so special for me, and as a ~curvy bride~ she never made me feel like it was going to be impossible to find dresses for me (my fear). Our wedding is going to be very casual so I didn't think I wanted a traditional wedding gown. I had purchased a few special occasions dresses and decided I wanted to look like a bride instead of a guest at a wedding. My appointment was scheduled with Irina. She was amazing! Very helpful, honest and very patient! I found a dress but since I wanted the train cut off I had to take the dress elsewhere for alterations.. their policy.. since it was going to cost a lot of money for the alterations I decided to return the dress. So I've been here for some formal dresses before and it's been just fine. Easy to be able to just grab something formal off the rack, no one bothering you. However, I went in months ago for my upcoming wedding. Irina was very sweet and helped a lot since I did NOT want to be there. My sister and mom dragged me shopping when I just wanted to do it alone. THEN, a few weeks before the wedding I tried on my dress and my seamstress made it look awful on my body, because she had to build up the bodice. Everyone at David's Bridal said it could be done. Welp, I went back to buy another dress because there isn't much choice around here for short notice. I booked an appointment with Irina, and she had noooo interest in helping me. She paid all of her attention to another girl there with 5 family members, and I was left wandering out in front of the mirror unzipped and half dressed begging someone to help me. Not totally her fault, she is the only consultant on the floor during the week. I bought my SECOND dress from them, and she got commission. No one should have gotten commission on that. They ordered me my size, and when I picked it up it's just such poor quality. It's missing a hook, has threads everywhere and you just shake your head knowing it was made for probably $20 dollars in China and since this was my only choice they got me for two $650 dresses and that doesn't include the $400 in alterations. read more

Didn't come on the same day as the rest of the party... they're sure to make a point of it.... would like to look at something else, iffy course! (Scoffs and face), Paying tonight? I have to say - this review is for THIS LOCATION of David's bridal - not the entire franchise. The first time I went to David's was to shop for my wedding dress. I had an appointment. I brought photos of dress styles I liked. The women helping me (Betty Ann) was NOT helpful. She brought a few dresses and then disappeared for long periods at a time. My maid-of-honor and I went walking around trying to find dresses we liked. We got yelled at by a store employee who told us that Betty Ann should be carrying the dresses for us. (But we couldn't find Betty Ann!) When Betty Ann eventually brought dresses to me, they were in no way similar to the dresses I had shown her pictures of (I said "no ballgown" and she brought the biggest ball gown I have ever seen). She proceeded to disappear again. We eventually left. (Btw: I went to a different location several weeks later and I had a wonderful experience.) I went back to the maple shade location to shop for bridesmaids dresses. I had two of my girls (both from out of town) with me and again, I MADE AN APPOINTMENT. We showed up (on time!) and for 45 min no one helped us. We retrieved dresses we wanted to look at, found an empty pair of changing rooms and I ended up hunting around for some of the clips to fit the dresses on my bridesmaids myself. After an hour, (still no one helped us!) we had a few questions about some of the dresses. I asked at least 3 sales associates for help. They all said there "were getting it". Almost 30 min later, and several trips to the front desk to say we needed some help, finally the "manager" came in. While she was perfectly ok, she was clearly just interested in answering our questions about a few dresses and getting back to her other work. Now here comes the part where I get really mad. One of the questions I had asked the "manager" was if they had a dress that we saw in the catalog. The manager said "no we do not yet, because it's new. We may start to carry it in December or January in stores." Ok fine. The next day I dropped by (without an apt) just to show my fiance the dresses I was considering for the girls. Lo and behold - the dress mentioned above was in the store. Multiple colors and sizes available. The "manager" either was NOT a manager and just had NO idea, or was too lazy to go and get it. Save your time and drive to a different location if you want to shop at a David's. This location is an embarrassment to the David's establishment. It's a shame. I am actually going to order my bridesmaids dresses from David's but I'm going to place the order through a different location. read more

I got my Oleg Cassini wedding dress altered here (I bought the dress at the Plymouth Meeting location and the consultant was FABULOUS). This dress was enormous, in a beautiful ball gown kind of way, with a lot of chiffon ruffled layers - so a huge pain to alter! That being said, they did a fantastic job and I couldn't be happier. Getting into the parking lot is tricky - to be honest the only way I've entered is through an exit off-ramp and possibly into a Do Not Enter opening. Definitely a downside. read more

I walked in and the lady was very pleasant with working with me and making sure the dress I was trying on really fitted me and made any adjustments to make it fit better. The dress that I have decided to buy had some loose gems and the lady immediately took it to the back to get it fixed. My dress was also 50% off which was even better because prom dresses tend to be very pricey. This lace was definitely worth my time. read more

Very disappointing and disheartening experience. Despite an appointment for myself and stepdaughter maid of honor, the salesperson barely gave us any attention and was no help at all aside from accompanying me for one minute at the rack and shoving two dresses of the incorrect size in my arms before rushing off to help others extensively leaving us on own own. We went to lunch hoping we could get some assistance afterwards when the others had finished and the salesperson could have cared less that we left. It took us until late afternoon to finally find two dresses (from Oscar's summer line and it was nearly September) and alot of that time was spent waiting for our inattentive salesperson to get a few pieces of jewelry from the case and to choose our shoe dye which WAS NOT the color we chose. We literally were the last ones in the shop. To top it off, she directed her questions to my stepdaughter although I reminded her several times that I was the bride. Very passive aggressive establishment and the only reason I could think of was that perhaps I was an "older" first time bride at 34? Ladies, if you value your dress and wedding (at least one gal didn't who bought a dress two sizes too small for her wedding the next day), please find a genuine dressmaker or dress shop, PAY THE MONEY, for the dress and experience as it should be. read more

The staff is amazing, helpful and will bend over backward for you. Monique is an absolute pleasure to work with. That said, the selection is awful. There was not ONE dress in the entire store with sleeves, or even straps. No jacket options other than awful bolero sleeves. If you're not into strapless mermaid trumpet gowns, you are SOL looking for bridal gowns at David's Bridal. There was one awful dress that had a pretty jacket that they would not separate from the dress -- you had to buy both, so couldn't put the jacket over another dress unless you bought two. Having shopped at "America's premiere bridal store" I now understand why so many brides are choosing nontraditional outfits, as I ultimately did, from a catalog. We are not one size fits all. Try giving your excellent salespeople something to work with that is not the same stupid dress with a little ruching in a random spot. read more

They charged 150 for the cheap bridesmaid dress and then 130 for the fitting! Are you freaking kidding me ? They made the dress to tight in the breast area and I had to argue with then to fix it. They said oh I can fit a finger in here so it can't be that tight . Like really it's not my fault you couldn't do your job right the first time and they made me order a dress too big on purpose .They are lazy and not organized . I did not have an appointment and they were super accommodating to me I did have to wait a small amount of time but I didn't mind since I didn't even have an appointment. What a great experience! From the moment I walked in the door til the moment I left I was waited on hand and foot. First, I didn't have an appointment and was quickly accommodated by the lady that greeted me. She set me up with Irina who was amazing through the whole process.
