First off let me say FORD you're STIPID!!! why would you allow the car to auto lock if the KEY FOP is INSIDE!!! so dumb! Anyway, these guys are great. It was a Saturday and we needed the car for a trip to the air port. I decided to give it a quick power washing, so I drove it over by the barn sealed it up tight(but did not lock it) and started washing. Turns out pressure on the two bottom codeless keys locks will in fact instantly lock it with or without Fop. Anyway I called these guys and they where to my house that is 25 mins from them like in 27 mins. The young man was nice and had unlocked the car before I could write my address on the order sheet. BEST service EVER!!! This last part I don't really understand but it's worth mentioning. I tried to tip the young man and the answer was a hard no. "Just give me a fair review". So grateful to these guys! I accidentally locked myself and my two toddlers out of the house yesterday. I called David 6 minutes before close (maybe they also work after hours I don't know) and they sent someone out immediately. He was in the house within ten minutes and the whole ordeal was over within an hour. Hopefully this never happens again but if it does I will definitely be calling them. read more

I had a rough morning, walked out the door and locked it without thinking. David's lock n key was the third company I called. They were responsive and arrived within about 30 minutes. However; the problem arose when the gentleman said he couldn't pick my lock. He did try but it went horribly. When I asked him about it he said I DONT KNOW HOW. Wtf. So after banging on a he key he and spare for about 15 minutes he told me in order for me to get in he would have to break my door handle. If I wanted my door knob broke I wouldn't have even called them :( He ended up breaking the lower door knob because I was running late and didn't have a choice. I ended up paying $83 and now I have to replace my lower door knob. This has happened once before but I called another locksmith. The company I used before picked it in 10 or less but that gentleman was out on leave for surgery. I would not recommend somebody who charges for tearing up your stuff. read more

Locked my key in my car, I was 25 min from their location and they showed up 20-25 min from the time I called which is pretty impressive. They got my car unlocked in just a couple min. Although I wasn't thrilled about paying $120 to get my car unlocked (especially since my car is supposed to have a system that prevents the key from being locked inside), $120 is the going rate so they provided a competitive price, thank you. read more

I had a problem losing a key to an out building and the lock cannot be picked. Tristen arrived and drilled out the lock and I had access in 30 minutes. I WILL use David's Lock and Key again! read more

We went to GM to purchase and extra key or 2 and program a fob. The price was $200. Which I thought was outrageous. After leaving David's the price was $337. We were not clear I guess of the price. We are now. Ridiculous. Beware read more

If you live in Columbia you have probably used David's Lock & Key! Or you have at least seen the vehicles around town. I have nothing but great things to say about these guys. I have used them on many occasions, and will continue to do so. They take the time to explain what is being done, and are upfront about all charges. I dont usually give Yelp reviews but this one is worth the time... my husband locked his work keys in his truck and it was 720am on a Saturday and he had to be in Kentucky by 10 and I first called asking spring hill police to see if they would come because they are so busy but they couldnt..lol any how they gave me his number and he said he could come and it would be $65 which I thought was cheap( were from California so everything is 20x more expensive) he said it would take him 25 minutes, and he got here in 15 and had my husband unlocked the truck and had him on his way in less than 20 minutes... oh and he made a spare door lock.. I was checking out at Aldi Friday night when an older woman approached the cashier and said she had locked her keys in the car. The cashier said she could use the phone to call a locksmith so I looked up the number for David's Lock and Key, a business we had used in the past. The woman told them where she was and what she needed and asked how much it would cost her. Then in dismay she said "$55, oh my!" Then she looked puzzled and said the had hung up on her. The cashier dialed them again and the older lady told them who she was and asked if he had just hung up on her. Then she became visibly distraught and said "what do you mean, what kind of language?" He was accusing her of using bad language and that's the reason he hung up on her. At no time did that poor little old woman EVER use any bad language or even raise her voice!! I proceeded to take the phone from the lady and tell him just that and that he should be ashamed of himself. He was just as rude to me. I will never use this business again and would suggest that they learn how to deal with people in a business-like and compassionate manner read more
