This past Saturday I had the pleasure of getting my hair done by David. For starters, David and his team made me feel like family instead of simply a client. The dynamic between him and his mother Emma, Danielle and Melina is great! The openness and relaxed conversation made my appointment fly by! As a mom and business woman I lead a very busy life. I prefer my cut and color to require as little maintenance as possible. When I came to see David he asked me what I wanted. Though I gave him the general idea of what I wanted, I left my beloved hair in his hands. BEST DECISION EVER! Some highlights and lowlights in the shades of David's choosing, and I feel like a million bucks! I have never in my life been more happy with my hair! I feel like a brand new person! If you a dude with curly hair DO NOT let him touch the top your hair. He literally use the entire razor to chop the top of my hair completely when I specifically said "i only want to cut the dry ends and up to 1 inch max" Instead of using a scissor and then proceeded to brag on how "he knows curly hair unlike other barbers" when he literally cut every curl I had. Also haircut seemed very rushed he finished in probably 5-7 minutes when usually a curly hair skin fade should take at least 20 minutes. decent skin fade tho but he did not use any lather or razor on the neck and made it very irritated and it's still has scratches from it which Ill put a photo of below I've attached before and after images. as seen my hair was very long and use to reach past my lips when stretched completely, now it hardly reaches my eyebrow. I can't speak on his haircuts on ladies but based on reviews it seems he does a good job on them. read more

I feel so bad giving this salon a bad review but I have to be honest... I had my hair done by David himself. I wanted to go blonde and I mentioned my hair history (blue hair with black dye over). He said "no problem. $50. Please sit. I take care of you." He did 1 coat of 40 vol bleach and my hair turned to a blue straw. David then goes "hmm ok. All we can do is chop it to be honest." And I was in such a state of shock that I just went "uhhh ok" I somehow walked in with shoulder length hair and left with an extreme boy cut. My hair has grown out since but I just thought I'd tell my story and warn others. He may have good intentions but David is in no way experienced. Please learn from me. read more

I found this salon on Yelp. I figured I am new to the area and read the reviews. Some great. Some not. I like to see for myself. I asked for my hair to be darker with some low lights and a trim. David did my hair. While it was shorter than I wanted, I admit it needed it because of my ends. I also wanted it darker than it came. David was very accommodating and would not let me leave until I was happy. I decided to get my nails done by Joanna who also washed my hair while I waited. She fixed a bad nail job done by the place next door. I love the back and forth banter in this place. Two weeks later, David put in hair extensions. I absolutely love them. They are real hair, dyed to match my high-lights. Melina blew out my hair a couple of days later perfectly. I am very very happy to have such a great place to go. I'm lucky they're so close. I would absolutely recommend this salon. They are very accommodating. read more

Do not even bother. The place is filthy and completely unorganized. How they get business I have no clue. Got a mani and pedi for whatever reason here. I should have had my dog do it. They cannot properly wash your hair as they have shampoo on your head and let the water just pour down without scrubbing it. Or how about no sanitizing station for the equipment. I came in on whim for a trim. I specifically told the hairdresser "no bangs,", and no layering (it's a personal preference and I hate both). To which I was told they could do a trim or a "good haircut." WTF dude, I'm a low maintenance person. I like my hair healthy, as natural as possible, and one even length. For reference, I have long, untreated natural wavy hair...and I like to keep it that way. They also kept trying to sell me chemical treatments at later dates...Did I not just say I keep my hair as natural and unprocessed as possible?...Add it to the list of things they ignored... After it was over I told him to dry it because of the cold air outside. I also told him I rarely heat style and I don't like big hair and to just leave it flat. My biggest gripe was that during the blow drying process, he put the hair dryer on full blast, especially on my roots. It burned and hurt pretty frequently. He apologized here and there, but continued to burn my scalp. At the end of the day I was left with layers that looked more like a Beatles hairstyle than a natural trim, I wound up with bangs and a giant poofy 80s big hair blow out (which I ran home to wash out). They also didn't put anything on my hair to protect it from heat styling... I spent years growing out my bangs, and now I have to do it again... Overall, my patience with hairdressers like these is thin and unbearable. You go in and ask for one thing, but they do whatever the fuck they want. This place has such high reviews due to the fact that every patron in the place are old women who love being incessantly complimented and sold things they don't need by male hairstylists...I guess getting a plain trim is too hard or difficult to comprehend. Either way, you couldn't pay me to go back. Going to try Explosion next time, they have better reviews and are always booked solid...there must be a reason for that. MORAL OF THE STORY -YOU SHOULDN'T CALL YOURSELF A PROFESSIONAL HAIRDRESSER IF YOU CAN'T EVEN DO A SIMPLE TRIM. Guess my search for a decent hair dresser in the area continues.... read more

The first time I got my hair done here I loved it. They did an awesome blow out and simple cut, my hair looked beautiful. However, the second time I came in not so much. I went in for curls and eyelashes. My curls were beautiful but my eyelashes? Crooked. When I told David his response was "the glue is set, walk fast and no one will notice" what? I figured it was closing time and he didn't want to stay later which I understood and decided not to make a big deal over it. Being that he did a good job with my hair I came back a third time for a haircut. What a mistake. I showed him a picture and he started cutting. Guess what? Completely uneven. I was annoyed but i felt it wasn't terrible. Again I decided to give him another shot, I went in for a color. I came in and he told me he would do a consultation right after the haircut he was doing. He took four more customers and then spoke to me for 5 seconds. I waited 50mins for a 5 second conversation. Very annoying. All four times I've been here there's been drama with his workers. Stylists in their phones, yelling, and throwing fits, storming out. Super unprofessional. David seems nice and his blow outs are good but don't go in for anything else. You'll regret it. read more

David was very professional and knew what he was doing, so did the other workers. I went in to get purple hair done and he completely transformed my hair! He also insisted I get a cut, so I did and the results were beautiful. I felt very confident walking out the salon and loved it. After just a few days and one wash, my hair color looked nothing like it did less than a week ago. Became gray/brown/dark and light purple. I came here very early one Saturday for a blow out. It was scheduled with David but he wasn't in yet and I didn't have time to wait as my engagement party started early. His assistant was the only one in the place and she seemed to be doing her cousin or some relatives hair. I kindly said I have an appointment and need someone to do my hair. I wish I could give negative stars for a review. David butchered my hair. That is the only word I can use. I left that salon crying. I showed him what I wanted and he assured me that he knew exactly what I wanted. I came out of there with such a bad haircut it was mind blowing. He was super disrespectful and cursing because I did not like the haircut. There isn't enough hair for me to have someone else fix it. Worst impulsive decision of my life was walking through those doors. DO NOT go there if you want a good hair experience. I am still in shock every time I look in the mirror at my hair.
