When we received notice from the IRS that in fact we owed more plus interest, her response was "oops, make sure you pay that on time". When we asked for a refund of her fees to cover the interest we incurred (and frustration associated with the sloppiness), her response was "I'm human" and that she doesn't give refunds. Take your business elsewhere. Can't trust the quality of the work, and the lack of professional pride is shocking.

So we started using another CPA. I just received a tax bill in the mail from the IRS yesterday from 2018. I called Ken's office yesterday and left a message. Called again today and spoke with a woman there, I explained my situation and she asked me to email her the letter. I did so and Ken called me back a little while later. He says he has looked over the letter and says "Chris, it was 5 years ago, I don't have your files anymore, maybe our software was outdated and there is nothing that I can do or even know what to say to you about it!" Not even an apology of how they screwed up! So now I out about $9,000 that I didn't have to be if he and his team knew what they were doing! Later that week, I received confirmation from the IRS that my SSN had been stolen and someone else had filed a tax return with my SSN. Spinner & Spinner did not offer any help to fix my stolen identity. Spinner & Spinner did not offer to pay for LifeLock or any other monitoring services. Spinner & Spinner never told me if any information was taken (SSN, birth date, bank account numbers, financial numbers, etc.) Spinner & Spinner left me to fix the problem by myself, and my own expense.

Our experience with Michelle Katz was well below expectations (and we didn't expect much). Multiple…read morerequests from our side were overlooked. She didn't get our property survey tied to our title insurance. We asked for power-of-attorney for my wife weeks before the close (who was scheduled to give birth a few days before the close). Michelle notified us after she delivered that she now needed to go to the bank to have the POA notarized (my wife could barely walk at the time). This last minute POA also almost forced the bank to delay the close - luckily our lender pushed it through. Overall, we felt like we were just one of many transactions Michelle processed that month - no attention or care given to us as individual clients. Would definitely not recommend.
