Without doubt, the best pharmacy in town. Have been a customer here for a few years and never once have I had bad service. When calling in an order over the phone they always respond with a sincere and unlabored, "We'll get it ready for ya!" Sure enough, the order is always in the bag, prepared 100% correctly upon arrival.
Unlike the other corporate pharmacies up the road a piece, these guys are actually- wait for it- PLEASANT. Now yes, yes, we all know that working for a corporation run from a death star orbiting the planet sucks, but if I, the customer am making an effort to present a simple request or transaction in a professional manner, I fail to see where you, as the person behind the counter are warranted in treating me as a nuisance. I mean, ya don't have to compliment my clod-hoppers every time I waltz in, but some of these other pharmacies must hire some of their staff whenever the county courthouse has to let a bailiff go. At Davidson's though, they are courteous, willing to answer questions, and capable of finding an answer if they don't have it.
Mr. Davidson even proactively checked with me when I recently filled a prescription that was similar to one I had filled only a couple of days prior, to ensure I was aware to avoid taking them both simultaneously, as that could be dangerous. That's what, in the traditional sense, a pharmacist is supposed to do: consult with you on your medication needs as prescribed by a doctor; not just throw pill bottles through the drive-through window like a Harlem Globetrotter during warm ups.
Other accolades: a) A drive-through that's actually easy to um, drive...through; most of these other places have gargantuan drive-throughs that make you feel like you're living through a Fast & Furious sequence. b) No phone menu! When you dial their phone number, a person, a real live person, actually picks up the telephone. No hearing their hours you already know, no mashing of numbers to reach the right "department"; which by the way, why would a building about the size of a Pizza Hut even have 10 different departments? At Davidson's somebody picks right up, takes your RX number (or looks up your info) and you're off the phone in like 30 seconds. Egads! The simplicity!
Alright, this has all been a pretty gushing plaudit so I will throw in a couple critiques: a) their hours. As of now, they close at 7PM on weekdays & are only open till 1PM on Saturdays (closed Sun.). b)an honest to goodness website. They have a web presence but it's difficult to find even with Google, seems to be a sort of cut-and-paste thing, and is quite underwhelming overall. But all things considered, these are but minor issues. Nothing's perfect, right?
In the world of the ever-encroaching chain stores and surly employees, this place is the scrappy underdog that ya can't help but root for. Just do this, next time your doctor prescribes something, have it sent to Davidson's- you won't regret it. read more
