Davino was hands down our favorite spot for dinner while staying at Villa del Palmar! We went twice and absolutely loved it. Almost everything was so delicious, but our top bites were the crostini di mare, grilled octopus with pesto, tuna tagliata, and chocolate mousse. We also enjoyed getting to listen to live trumpet music during our dinner. Overall such a great experience! I would definitely recommend making a reservation here in advance because they did seem to be fully booked every night. read more

All the restaurants have been phenomenal but this was my favorite here. All the food we got was phenomenal. This was the best ravioli I've ever had. The flavor was amazing. It was a bit rich so I couldn't finish it. This is a good dish to share of if you had a few appetizers. The octopus was fantastic. Not pictured is the crostini. This is a must have for your appetizer. Probably the best appetizer I've ever had. The calamari and dipping sauce was very good. I loved the gelato. Do not pass up on the dessert. We are here on vacation. I spoke to the manager to try to accommodate us for a party of 10 but they had to spilt us up. But where we were sitting there was empty tables. I asked to accommodate us but the manager didn't want to listen to my whole story. He cut me off and said we are busy. I am upset bcuz he could have just listen. Food was ok. We've been staying a Villa Palmar Cancún for a week, and this restaurant is our favorite. The food is amazing but the service is unmatched. Andy the hostess, greets us with the energy of an old friend, and right from the start we have exceptional service and attention. We've had 2 servers throughout coming nearly every day, Adrian and Angel. If you're able to come to this restaurant, I highly recommend asking for Adrian or Angel as your server because their service and care is unsurpassed. Tonight we had the whole Red Snapper which was seasoned and baked to perfection. We loved every dish and can't recommend asking for Adrian or Angel enough because their care and advice about the menu options were so appreciated. This is probably the best restaurant on site at Villa del Palmar. We ate dinner here a couple times during our stay and really enjoyed it. The service is excellent and staff is attentive to dietary needs. The restaurant itself is nice and trendy. The fresh bread with grated Parmesan is so good! Warm and unlike any bread I've had. We really enjoyed the pizza, although the red sauce is a bit different than traditional sauce back in the states. We tried the bruschetta with olives and it was yummy, could use more topping for the amount of bread. The spinach pasta without pancetta (as we are both vegetarian) was so good! It was rich and full of flavor. I didn't care for the mushroom ravioli, didn't have much flavor but that may be bc I didn't get any shrimp. We tried the brownie one night and it was good, the perfect serving size to end the meal on a sweet note. Overall a great place to grab dinner! read more

Davino's at the Villa Del Palmar serving exquisite Italian and Mediterranean cuisines, brings flavors unexpected to the Caribbean Coast which is also known as the Riviera Maya. This experience would not have been possible without the excellent tag-team service brought to us by Alfredo and Louis. From the Antipasti to the Antipasto, the service was a five star rating. I wish I personally met with the team of chefs to thank them for food well prepared. I've always said that great tasting food is what makes you remember a dining experience. With the many things we tried, the must try's are the Scallop and Octopus appetizer. From the many entree's ordered, I was able to sample the Carbonara, squid ink seafood pasta, pork Osso-bucco, Lamb Chops, and fettuccini and if I had to choose just one must try, it would be the Lamb. A very tender cut and the flavor did not bring a strong and gamy taste to the palette. The accompanying Risotto was buttery and texturally prepared well. If you get the opportunity to stay at the Villa Del Palmar, make it a point to experience Davino's. read more

I agree with others in saying that Davino is the best restaurant at Villa del Palmar. Most of the food on the menu is roasted on charcoal which made the scallops and octopus my fave. The service was exceptional. Our waiter Alonso (as well as the other staff that took our plates and refilled our waters) were so amazing that we had to grab the manger Javi and tell him all about how well he took care of us and how delicious the food was. Also, if you're celebrating your birthday, tell them! My hubby and I saw how the staff treated birthday celebrants in the restaurant, and boy was it something so special and fun to see. ;-) // The only very minor thing I would suggest is for them to improve the reservation system when you need to make a change. We went in person the day before to push back our reservation a few hours but it didn't trigger an email confirmation and as a result we didn't get the survey via email either. Maybe it's a staff training issue. Either way, it seems to be best to walk over to Davino in person versus calling or emailing if you need to make a change in your reservation. read more

Davino has over the years become our favorite restaurant at Villa del Palmar. The food, prepared by Chef Fabian and his staff, is consistently delicious and well presented. This is the case for the more elaborate dishes but also for a "simple" pasta dish. The service is great and the prices, when eating a La carte, are very reasonable. The wine list at Davino, which was awarded in both 2021 and 2022 by Wine Spectator, is excellent. Gerardo, the sommelier, is very knowledgeable and makes excellent recommendations for wine - food pairings. read more

It was our last night at the resort and we wanted to try Davino as it was their fine only dining option. When we got there, we were told it was about an hour wait so we added our name to the list. After the hour went by, we asked the host when we would be seated and she said in a few minutes. Another half hour went by and we accosted her ahain. At this point, it was nearing 10pm which was closing time. Apparently, the host "forgot" us and we got seated at 9:45pm. This now meant that the cooks and wait staff had to stay longer to accommodate us which I felt so bad about. Nonetheless, they were all very pleasant and the food was delicious. read more

Everything he suggested was on point and he wasn't those type of servers that try to upsell you with the most expensive items on the menu. He even made it special for us on our anniversary. If you go to the all inclusive, come here first and foremost.... you will noooooy regret it omgosh. AMBIENCE Was super modern. With this newly renovated restaurant, there is a bar that greets you at the door with marble plates tables, walls, and modern furniture. In the restaurant area, there are picturesque round yellow toned lights that make you feel cozy but sheik. Plenty of seating as well. FOOD Even the Bread appetizer was amazing. Octopus appetizer is a MUST. deliciously charred and a burst of flavor that I've never encountered before. Scallops were alright, pretty good but might be Ble to do without for more octopus... Salmon salad was a must as well! Beautifully smoked fresh salmon, with a tasty dressing and fresh greens/tomato's. T-bone steak was delish and much better than the steak at the STEAK HOUSE at the resort. Octopus black spaghetti was super flavorful with a tomato based sauce and black ink noodles. Very tasty but a bit on the saltier side. Lamb chop was tasty but a small portion. Catch of the day was super moist! Not sure which fish it was that we got... but sooo good. $130 pesos each dessert Chocolate mousse was a mist, so decadent and tasty with fresh raspberries. Dates pudding was surprisingly very tasty and moist... not something I would have normally ordered but it was definitely worth tasting! Cremation Brûlée's was the only one at all the restaurants that was legitimate, soft and with a crisp on top... my boyfriends mom fell in love! I made reservations several nights prior to our dinner tonight at 9pm. We walked over at 4pm just to confirm our birthday celebration dinner for two. We were told that we did not have reservations at all on any day. We requested to be placed on the reservations list and were told that there was NO AVAILABILITY tonight. We stepped aside as I attempted to find our confirmation on my phone. The gentleman behind me stepped forward to request dinner reservations tonight and tomorrow night for his party of 3. The hostess smiled and provided THREE available times for dinner tables tonight. He requested a 6pm reservation for both nights. The hostess confirmed that she was placing his party on the reservations for tonight at 6pm. My husband and I returned to the hostess to ask why the gentleman was allowed to make reservations for tonight, but we were not. The hostess stated that they do not have tables available. I would have preferred that she was honest. We've visited Villa Del Palmer 3 times in the past. This was our worst experience starting from the moment we entered the property. Update: We stopped by Davino's after leaving the Mexican restaurant next door. We spoke to the same hostess to inquire about seating availability for desserts. She did not recognize us from earlier. The hostess was very pleasant this time. We were seated after a short 15 minute wait. Our dessert presentation was exceptional. read more

First, don't wear a tank top/shorts/thongs( even dressy) because they won't let you in. We ordered beet salad, ceasar salad, baked cheese bread, lasagna, fish of the day( grouper). Gelato and dates pudding AKA sticky toffee pudding. The best thing was the beets salad. The ceasar salad had packaged croutons on it( the menu said parmesean crisp). The cheese bread was raw inside. Its essentially pizza dough that they top with fresh mozzarella. They need to bake the pizza dough/bread FIRST, then apply the cheese. The dough under the cheese does not bake enough and its raw. I sent it back and they did it again. Major fail. My wife did not like the lasagna. Huge rings of red pepper and olives. My fish was unevenly seasoned. The veggies were not cooked. The DATES pudding was either microwaved or baked much too long. It was terrible, dry inside, but steaming HOT. We observed the executive chef stick his tasting spoon into a kitchen aid bowl of whipped cream. He tasted it once, stuck the spoon back in for another taste. Then another sous chef stuck her finger into it. Then, they put it in a pastry bag and used it on dessert plates. SO nasty. We also observed another female chef walk by a plate, knock something off the plate and then pick it up from the floor and put it back on the plate. We were so done after that!!! We were on all inclusive so we didn't pay anything. If we had to pay, the dinner would have been over 87.00. SO not worth it. read more

We were looking forward to dining here. we were a party of 4. the hostess was nice and greeted us immediately. We all ordered something different, when it came one of the meals said it served 2. This could not feed one person let alone two people. it said it was Squash Carbonara with chicken. It was all liquid and the chicken which must have been a ducking because it was ALL bones sat inside the liquid with a fried egg on top of it. The tortallini plate had no more that 6 small pieces, the majority was all sauce. The third pasta plate was the served in an even smaller bowl with only 5-6 small pasta pieces. The only dish that may have been worthy was a Spaghetti dish. The appetizer indeed was a arugula salad with cheese and flat bread. what we got was flat bread with cheese on top of it and a bite of arugula on the side of the plate. With no alcohol or dessert this ran us over $135USD. Any Italian or European would cringe at what they call an Italian cuisine. We walked away just as hungry as when we walked in. it took us less than 40 min to be seated, place our order and finish our meal. Do not know how anyone can rate this as quality food unless you have never been to fine dining anywhere else or know what good Italian cuisine should look like. read more

ENSALATA TIBIA Bell peppers, eggplant, tomato, capers, asparagus, goat cheese dressing. Excellent dish, similar to a vegetable Napoleon. FETUCCINI CARBONARA Bacon, carbonara sauce, parmesan cheese. Prepared perfectly with an incredibly rich sauce and flavor profile FLANK STEAK WITH TOMATILLO SAUCE & ROTINI Very unique dish with a distinct green tomatillo sauce that was very vibrant. Such a beautiful restaurant, my boyfriend and I came early for dinner and had the best seat in the house. They have a great cocktail list, probably the best of the restaurants in the resort and amazing appetizers as well. Our waiter was so friendly and frequently checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. For appetizers, we had the beef carpaccio and octopus- both of which I loved and thought were absolutely amazing. For entrees, I had the lamb chops and my boyfriend the Osobuco. Sadly, both the meats were a little dry but the mushroom risotto the lamb chops came with were so creamy and flavorful. The pasta with the osobuco had a great sauce too. For dessert, I got the tiramisu which I thought was fantastic. All in all, amazing food for a resort restaurant in such a beautiful setting. Best experience so far while in Cancun! Our bartenders Adrian and T were entertaining, funny and made great drinks. Our waiter Carlos gave us great food recommendations that we took and he did not disappoint. The food was exceptional especially the mussels and raw meat. Ricardo, the manager and our waiter heard we were celebrating our engagement and sent us this beautiful dessert that Carlos doused with flaming liquor. Beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. We ate every single morsel of food! Even the hostess Sheyla, who was dealing with a very busy restaurant with a lot of larger parties, was pleasant, efficient and even helped us reserve a table again to make sure we got to eat there one more time before we left. We dined at Davino 3 times during our week's vacation because it was our favorite restaurant. We can't say enough good things about Davino and would honestly consider coming back to Cancun just to be able to enjoy Davino again. The service, especially Salomon, was excellent. The atmosphere, especially in the Wine Room, was very comfortable and quieter than the typical resort restaurant. The food was absolutely outstanding! We tried many different appetizers and entrees and loved them all. We had several delicious flaming deserts prepared and served table side. And Gerardo, the sommelier, was the best! He selected wines for us each night paired perfectly to our food choices and allowed us to try some excellent wines from Mexico, Chile and other regions. Overall remarkable!!! read more

My mom & friend got this for dinner and said it was just like butter. Creme brulee... Amazing Didn't get a bite of the mussels or the mousse desert because everyone at my table ate it too fast. I wish someone would have ordered the pizza. Really regret not trying it. They're very aware of gluten free & will do anything in their power to make it happen. The head chef at Davino, Fabián Aceves, went above and beyond for our party. I was so pleased with our overall service at the restaurant, however between Fabián and our waiter, Julio, they made our table feel like special guests. They made sure to not only make themselves available for every possible need, but brought out additional appetizers and desserts. I could not be more pleased with the overall service, and I would absolutely return again. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to any family or group planning to stay at Villa Del Palmar!
