We were with a wedding group staying in the Presidente InterContinental Resort and the groom made an impromptu decision to the Le Cap for a light supper after an afternoon at the pool. The bar/restaurant was empty when the initial group of about 10 people sat down. The staff put four tables together. until the groom texted us to join them and we arrived 12 minutes later. The guests were still ordering ( separate checks), so we assumed they would pull over one more table for the three of us. THE STAFF REFUSED. Crazy poor service that night, in my opinion. We had Margaritas and shared a Mixed Paella which was delicious. The second time, we came for a snack after our morning dive and had the Arugula Prosciutto Pizza, which was very good. The third time we had dinner again, too tire from scuba diving. I had the Grilled Octopus and my friend had the Grilled Shrimp. The Octopus was good. I looked at the shrimp and thought 3 little shrimp for the price on the menu? My friend thought they were OK a bit overcooked. We sat at the bar each time and the service was good. 3rd night in Cancun led us here, the scenery and ambiance is very hard to beat. It over looks a beach and you're surrounded by sand and beach chairs. We tried several dishes during our visit. They serve you a complimentary bread basket which is nice, the bread is fresh and very soft. We had the risotto with shrimp, it was very good. My wife got the gazpacho, I tried a bite, not really my thing. But my wife really enjoyed it. The grilled octopus was excellent, we've had some form of octopus every night and this was probably the best we've had yet. It's served on cantaloupe which oddly goes together very well. We finished with the gnocchi, again it was very good, nothing really stood out. If you've had good gnocchi at an Italian restaurant this is comparable. Overall I'd probably say it was 4.25 stars but you can only rank even so I give it 4. read more

Fantastic experience at Le Cap. Friendly and quick service, and the perfect ambience right on the hotel beach creates a truly relaxing vacation experience. Enjoyed a late lunch today, ordering the octopus ceviche, passion fruit creme brûlée, and lychee sangria which came in a pitcher for sharing. The ceviche was delicious -- had fresh ingredients, with reasonable helping of octopus, and went great with the chips. Beautiful relaxing place next to the beach. The service was good with the server speaking English to take my dietary restricted order. I ordered the octopus. He did mention that it was soaked in salt water the nite before and no additional salt will be added. However it was pretty salty. Although the octopus was salty, it was tender. Just wish it was only 25% of the saltiness. The Greek salad on the side was OK. Small. The basil sauce was good addition to the octopus. The ambiance was nice but the good, I like it less salty. Service was friendly and willing to answer questions. We were able to charge our drinks to the room which was nice. The drink prices were high so just be prepared. I suppose anything at a resort in Mexico is going to be extreme. The ambiance was cute. They had some hanging swing chairs and then cozy chairs hanging out up front. 5 staff members were seen diligently trying to wax the floor this morning. I had 2 lunches and one dinner here during my stay at the Interconti. Service was great on all visits! I very much liked that the dining area is totally outisde and does not have the bird problem the property's other restaurant has. Lunch for me was flatbread both times. The olive and goat cheese was better than the prosciutto and arugila. The crust was crispy like a cracker. I even got some char on my fingers from their wood oven! For dinner, I decided on their grilled lobster tail. I was told the grilling would take around 40 minutes and asked if I wanted a starter. No thanks. I am pretty much a small eater. It's good I didn't take a starter because the grilled tail was huge! It was accompanied with steamed vegetables and (mushroom?) orzo. The one problem with grilling a lobster tail is that it tends to dry out and thus become tough. I asked & received melted butter to dip the chunks of lobster meat. The huge portion made it impossible to finish the flavorful orzo and steamed vegetables. On Thursday evening, they had live jazz, which is something not expected in Mexico. Third time dining here this week. Have been to the top rated restaurants in town and they truly don't compare to this restaurant. Everything is made from scratch and the flavors are outstanding. The staff is incredible and you won't find finer food anywhere in Cancun. And it's on the beach. Food feels somewhat Mediterranean/ Fusion. We stayed at the Intercontinental and spent a day relaxing at their beach club. The wait staff was very attentive and we were never without a cold drink. There is no real public access to the beach so it was nice to be able to avoid the beach vendors which can be a hassle when you are just trying to relax. This review is for the Deck Bar, the beach front casual dining section of Le Cap Beach Club. This bar is located under a giant palapa, part of Intercontinental Presidente hotel. The menu is limited but good: tacos, sandwiches and burgers. I recommend their fajita, available mixed on request (beef, chicken & shrimp, not on the menu). So we stayed in the intercontinental and this restaurant is by the pool area, we sat in the chairs by the beach and a server brought us the menu and omg they have great snacks to have while you just lay there toasting your buns. Chips and guac perfect, definitely have a coconut, they will cut it for you, they gave us lining and tajin and it was perfect so so perfect with a drink, they're not shy on the alcohol that's for sure. read more

Beautiful atmosphere but food is nothing special. We were at the Intercontinental for 4 days so had a lunch and dinner here. It's great to dine outside right by the sea, and the wait staff is attentive and friendly. But the food was okay. I had the grilled tuna with coriander and it could have used more seasoning. My spouse's meal was fine. But for such a nice resort, the food was not on par with the rest of the hotel. Not bad, for sure, but nothing to rave about. read more

Was here For Christmas Day Dinner on the Beach and had the most disheartening experience from the moment myself and family entered. The Hostess was extremely rude and confrontational flashing a prior cancelled reservation in my face within the first moment of giving her my reserved table name. Then the night continued by them giving the table I had reserved months in advance away to another family prior to us arriving. After sitting us in the middle away from the water, it had taken a while for the server to come up and greet us. My family and I were friendly and had spoken Spanish to all of the employees we had encountered at this point. As the evening went on my older sister had dropped her utensil on the ground by accident with the same hostess and our waiter standing right behind here and watched. They failed to acknowledge it and she later had to ask for one when her food came. Through the progression of the night we were onto dessert at this point, I felt the need to approach the manager of Le Cap to let him know of some of the distasteful service we had received that night after eating a three course meal accompanied by several cocktails and bottles of wine for a large family. The managers response clearly exemplified where Le caps struggles for service truly comes from. Unwilling to show any signs of remorse for the behaviour his team had shown in their service that night. He actually allowed the hostess Andrea to stand directly behind myself and my father making the complaint to the manager with her arms crossed in a very confrontational manner. The overall experience was very confrontational and it was Christmas. If they are unhappy with the occupation they have chosen that is okay they need to accept it and find new hires. However, their personal issues should not be put onto the customers from the moment they walk into the Restaurant, My family and I had received exceptional service on the Island and had been treated with five star Quality. Le Cap was the biggest disappointment and I wish to make it public to SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE ON THE ISLAND!!!!! read more
