Food tastes great but portions are quite small. "Rack of lamb" is more like a singular rib of lamb.

Why this place isn't full every night we can only blame on the all inclusive culture that has taken over, or maybe perhaps it is the off season. But it should be busy, because it's Michelin level service and the dishes are works of art. If you want a break from the typical menus and would like to dress up and celebrate either a special occasion or merely the fact that places like this exist, my husband and I highly recommend Fantino.

Fine dining at its best! This was an amazing restaurant that is very romantic and great way to enjoy an evening out. The food was so delicious and the presentation was perfect. The view overlooks the beach and it's quiet inside and candle lit. There was a piano player which was a nice touch. We were brought out bread with oil and then a small bell pepper soup. For an appetizer we got the foie gras and truffle burrata. Both were so good. The main course was Cornish hens and a filet mignon. So so tasty and cooked to perfection. Dessert we ordered the chocolate fondant cake and were surprised with a second chocolate mousse cake for our anniversary. The servings were perfect, not huge but not too small. The service was awesome. We were presented each course at the exact time. The piano player even played us a song for our anniversary. Most surprising was the cost. In the U.S. this meal would have cost us at least triple what we paid. It was worth every penny and I would have easily paid more. This restaurant had a five diamond award and I can see why.

Excellent from the presentation, ambiance, service, and of course the taste. Easily one of the best modern Mediterranean places I've experienced. If one ever stays at the Kimpinski, this is an absolute must.

If you're looking for a small, quiet place to have a nice dinner, this is it! The service is top notch, didn't miss a beat. I wish they had an outside patio. You can dress up or be casual, they have a live piano every night. We saw a few honeymooners and groups of friends, so it's great for both. We had several amuse bushes to start. We started with the salad which they split for us, love that. The mushroom pasta was to die for, wish it was a bigger portion. The catch of the day was a bit bland, I wish they made a sauce, but otherwise moist, flaky, the sides were nice. The chicken was very elegant, great sauce and nicely paired, but the carrots were undercooked.

Had a perfect dinner this evening at Fantino at the Ritz hotel. Beautiful piano music, ocean views (before dark!) and 5 star service. The lamb chops and the steak were superb. Dress up (no shorts or flip flops) and have an adult night out. New York prices.

A secret five star restaurant in the Ritz Carlton - and its great for vegans and vegetarians. She's vegan and I'm vegetarian. And, I'm selfish allergic. We don't drink alcohol. Do we sound like fun? We are! None of this was difficult for the chefs and staff. We had two great dinners here. Each was spectacular. The first dinner began with the hostess inquiring about our food then the wait staff supplying a vegan and vegetarian menu. We had plenty to choose from and they are very accommodating. After dining here, it's hard to back to other restaurant styles of service.

Fantino's: Catch of the day: Herb crust grouper with cous cous, bacon, and lemon grass sauce

Most definitely a 5 star experience, you guys, hands down, the best restaurant experience I've ever had. Located in the 5 diamond Ritz Carlton Hotel, this dining experience lives up to the hotel's reputation, from the service, food, and ambiance. I ordered the catch of the day which was a grouper. My grouper was so crisp/crunchy on the outside, yet so flaky and soft on the inside- it was literally perfection! My brother ordered The filet mignon, cooked medium, it was oh so tender! My mom ordered the salmon- I don't know how they did it, but the salmon was seared crispily on the outside, yet was met with soft meaty goodness on the inside. Seriously, the salmon I make never turns out like that! For appetizer my brother ordered The handmade garganelli with truffle butter and porcini, it was so rich and flavorful, yet not heavy at all! Like how?!! My appetizer, the truffle burrata with roasted tomatoes within olive oil was so so fresh and paired perfectly with the thin crisp baguette (chip-Like)! For dessert I had tiramisu with coffee ice cream - it was the perfect way to wrap up my dinner experience here!

This was the classiest restaurant I have ever been to, definitely 5* without a doubt. Everything was superb from starters to meals to dessert. I can't praise the quality and the staff enough. I went several times on the trip and everytime was just as amazing. If you want a romantic evening this is the place for you no question if you are staying at the ritz you have to go at least once.

Extraordinary cuisine pairing with wines and outstanding service. Unbelievable value compared with those Michelin 3 stars restaurant. The interior of the dining room is so elegant and gorgeous along with talented pianist throughout the meal highlighted tonight's enjoyment. A real pleasure more than a restaurant in a luxury resort ! Food, service, ambiance were all excellent! A true definition of fine dining.

Watermelon salad amuse basil granita quenelle
Mark Y.

Easily 5 stars from me. All of the dishes in our 6 course (plus 2 amuse bouches and a cheese course) menu were memorable. Wine pairings for each course were perfectly matched. Service was just on a whole 'nother level from most. We got here right as they opened and had a prime seat at a corner table overlooking the ocean. The moment we were seated by the hostess, we were greeted by the floor manager and had a nice chat with her and she introduced our server to us who went over the cocktail menu with us. I like that there was no mention of food in the beginning so we didn't feel rushed at all, we never felt rushed throughout the entire 3 hour meal. A list of what I had... 2 Amuse bouches Potato / leek soup and a Watermelon salad with basil granita quenelle. Courses *Almond gazpacho with bluefin, with melon and grapes *Asparagus salad with raspberry vinaigrette, with pistachio, orange segments, raspberries, and cumumber - the toasted pistachios really took this dish the next level. *Giant grouper with squash puree, with peas, artichoke hearts with a saffron sauce. *Wild mushroom risotto - this was the substitute for the lobster course since I'm allergic to shellfish. *Filet with port wine reduction, parmesan gnocchi and asparagus tips. *Cheese course - Ricotta with macadamia nuts, aged parm, aged goat cheese, and caramelized figs with plum gelee. *Dessert - Molten chocolate beignets with passion fruit sorbet. The progression of the courses worked really well and each course was exceptional with quite a few standouts. Every pairing of wine went perfectly with each dish and we got a thorough description of each wine that was poured. This was easily the best meal we had during our stay in Cancun, definitely memorable.

Excellent service and food. Soup was delicious. It's a bit odd to be escorted to and from the restroom though.

We started with the hummus and pita bread and the beef carpaccio. The hummus was really good and easily the standout appetizer. The beef carpaccio was okay, but it was kind of bland and didn't have a lot going on. For our entrees, I ordered the Pollo al Vino Tinto, which was a red wine chicken served over mashed potatoes. The chicken was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. My girlfriend ordered the Andalusian-style beef roast with creamy rice, and that was excellent as well. Both entrees were easily the highlight of the meal. The desserts were a different story. The baklava tasted more like a really hard churro than traditional baklava. We also tried the rum fritters and another dessert that was basically a cream puff sitting in a thin sauce. None of the desserts were bad, but they were definitely disappointing compared to the main courses. We sat on the patio, which had a mild ocean view, although it was mostly a palm tree frond view from where we were seated. The bigger issue was the service. It wasn't very busy, but it felt like we were forgotten at times. I think we only saw our server about three times during the entire meal. Despite the inconsistent service and underwhelming desserts, the excellent entrees and really good hummus made this a solid dinner and a good way to start the trip. I would eat here again.

Every bite of the Eggs Benedict was decadent. The eggs were perfectly poached, and I appreciated that they weren't drowning in hollandaise. The French Toast caught me by surprise because I was expecting it to be somewhat crunchy when, in actuality, it had a super soft and squishy texture that instantly melted in my mouth. The views, food, and service were all amazing. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!!

Our waiter, Juan was outstanding. I mean, service is fantastic at the entire property, but Juan made our experience comfortable and enjoyable. My dinner guest had the ceviche appetizer and pesca pomodoro salad appetizer. We loved our meal and experience. Again thank you Juan for being our server!

You have the option to sit outside or inside which both are excellent options. To the right is the open kitchen and in front sits the fresh Italian meat and the most impressive is the leg of prosciutto (unfortunately did not have it on this trip). The waiters were attentive and gave wonderful recommendations. The insalata d'uva was pairs perfectly with the Gorgonzola dressing and balsamic reduction. Even better was the insalata d'asparagi which may have been one of best asparagus dishes I have had. The first thought of oranges with asparagus may be odd but just trust the chef and jump in. The Quattro formaggi may not sound that like a home run from the menu but with the copa and the smoked provolone the flavor is lifted to a place where you are wishing for a couple more bites as the dish comes to an end. The pavlova was just the right amount of sweet to end the night. Overall a very welcoming and well thought out experience and I would recommend if you have the time to stop by.
