I truly thought it was ruined. When I was in high school, my mom hand-embroidered a cougar on the back of my letterman jacket. I still remember her sitting at my soccer games, creating the cougar's face one stitch at a time. Years later, after I had outgrown the jacket, I couldn't bear to part with it. I carefully cut the cougar off, and my mom sewed it onto a denim jacket so I could keep wearing it. That jacket is one of my most treasured possessions. I've always joked that if there were a fire and I could only save one thing, it would be that jacket. So when a hand washing caused the embroidery to bleed and lose its brilliance, I was absolutely devastated. I was in tears when I brought it to The Cleanery because I honestly didn't believe it could be restored. A few days later they called to say it was ready. I walked in expecting to be disappointed, but Scott brought out my jacket, and I couldn't believe my eyes. The cougar looked as beautiful as the day my mom finished sewing it. I burst into tears again--this time, happy tears. And I paid less than $22 for this--so reasonable and the best money I've ever spent in my life. Scott was incredibly kind and shared my joy. I also want to thank the magical fairy godmother behind the scenes who worked on my jacket with such extraordinary skill and care. Francis, I have no idea how you did it, but you gave me back something that is truly irreplaceable. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This meant the world to both my mom and me. If you have something precious that you think is beyond saving, take it to The Cleanery. They worked a miracle. I'm attaching before-and-after photos so you can see the transformation. Note: I took the cougar off of the jacket before I brought it into The Cleanery because I was getting ready to try and fix it myself with Rit color remover and wanted to be able to test the back side first. I'm SO glad I did try a DIY on something this important, potentially making it worse, and decided to let the professionals take this on instead. But that's why the cougar isn't on the jacket in the second photo.

I came around 9:30 AM on a Sunday, and while there were a few people, there were still plenty of open washers and dryers. They have a change machine on the wall, along with detergent and dryer sheets available for purchase. Washer prices vary by size--smaller ones were about $2.50-$3.00, and the large washer was $6.50 and only took 38 minutes. Dryers were $0.25 for every 10 minutes, which felt reasonable. There was a sweet lady working in the back who was super friendly and helpful. I believe they also offer drop-off services, but I didn't ask about it. Honestly, I'd definitely come back if I ever needed to use a laundromat again!

So when they referred me to this cleaner, I thought it might be the same. When i dropped off my items, the customer service was GREAT! When I returned to pick them up things changed. :( We were cleaning 3 two piece suits for my boys. They had worn them once. Apparently the envelope that comes with the suit that has the extra buttons was left in the pocket of the white suit ‍ and had bled blue on a couple of spots on the white jacket. The lady assured me that she could get it out, she just needed to keep it for 2 more days....fine When I returned 2 days later, the stains were still there, the other suits were pressed but still had food crumbs on the butt (my boys are little) so they weren't very clean. I dont know how much this stuff normally cost, but it cost me $40 and the only help I was offered was "go home and try a bleech pen" I think I'll try a different cleaners from now on.
