My parents just moved up to Wilton and I stopped by for the long weekend/my birthday. The plan was to have my best friend over on Saturday and do a little BBQ. My mom drove us over to the Davis Ranch stand for our veggies. Coming from Southern California we really rely on our farmers markets to get fresh veggies but always pay higher prices because of it. This place was awesome because of the variety in fresh produce and the fact that it didn't cost an arm and a leg! Walk around the open market and look at all the different options. By far the best thing we had was the sweet corn. My fiance is from MN so he is very picky about his sweet corn (he claims you can't get good sweet corn here). He had to eat his words because the corn was delicious!!!! We had to come back for a bag to take home with us to grill. Very jealous my parents have this down the street from them. 83/100 read more

Went there today. 8 ears of corn, a melon, three medium zucchini's, a basket of cherry tomatoes price? $10.00. A bargain!!!! I hate grape tomatoes, too sweet. Their cherry tomatoes were fresh and delicious. Now let's talk about the corn. White corn 8 ears for $3.00. Terrific price. Fresh picked as a customer you can see the tractors pull up and unload the corn. Taste: delicious, delicious, delicious. It is as good as Jersey corn (New Jersey known for tasty corn and tomatoes). The white corn was so good I ate 2 ears for dinner. Great place. I also had a fresh lemonade. It was good. My friend has a decaf mocha coffee. She says she gets it every time she goes and it's good, too. read more

We were there on a Sunday afternoon and did the strawberry picking. The berries were so sweet and do many to choose from! We also got corn, squash, pears and vegetable chips. We loved it all! I was so disappointed with all the food i purchased at Davis Ranch last week. the corn is pre-packed in a bag, you can not select your own. Of the eight ears in the bag only one ear was even close to ripe. The seedless watermelon, was full of black seeds. The vine ripe tomatoes had no taste. I will never return to purchase anything there again, or recommend anyone to go there. I get better produce at FoodMaxx for half the price and don't have to drive 30 miles! read more

We went here to get pumpkins and do the corn maze. The Maze was quite challenging so we enjoyed it. This place is large so it didn't seem crowded. The kids were in love with the kettle corn! Got a free tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch and got our pumpkins. They lasted through Halloween. read more

From now on, I will purchase most of my produce from here. Hands down the best peaches I have ever had! I have never had a juicier peach and would drive out there for their peaches alone. Luckily, the rest of the produce I bought was really great too. Everything was reasonably priced, and I was relieved they accept credit cards. We went yesterday to cut down a tree our third year there. We pull up a big guy gives us a saw and tells us we are closing soon so hurry up. Didn't think nothing of it till we brought back our freshly cut tree probably 4 feet tall and the price was around $50 wow really and the guy wants me to hurry up? If I'm paying that much then don't tell a paying customer to hurry up I didn't appreciate that at all. read more

I called them several times this season for cucumbers. Each time, I was told they didn't have any lugs, just bags. I asked if they could put some aside for me and was told to call back the next day. How friggin' hard would it have been to simply say, "Yes!" and set aside what I needed? They are an hour drive away from me. I certainly didn't want to go out there and find out everything was sold. Last year my husband and I stopped by to purchase a Christmas tree around dusk. We asked if we were too late to pick out a tree. The gentleman who "greeted" us barked "only on the condition that you don't bring it back tomorrow because you see it in the day of light and decide you don't like it. If you agree not to do that, you can buy a tree." Um, OK. We were going to buy a pre-cut one, not cut our own. We ultimately found a good looking, possibly overpriced tree. We received no help strapping it to the car. We purchased it, and as we left we accidentally drove over an orange cone. We stopped and rolled down the widow, and the gentleman yelled "Do you HEAR something DRAGGING under your car?" Yes, we did, and were hoping it would dislodge from the wheel if the wheel turned. We apologized and got out of the car to attempt to pull the cone out. This man was downright nasty as we tried to extract the cone from where it was wedged in the tire well. His coworker was only slightly more civil. I understand that it was a cold, rainy day but that doesn't make it ok to be hostile to customers. The two stars are for the years of good memories I have of buying corn there. read more

Beyond anger with this place. We have gone here for years in the summer for their famous corn and Christmas for trees. Today we went only 2 days left before Halloween and they had nothing. Corn maze and all attractions shut down, it looked like a ghost town & not in a good way. They did have a ton of pumpkins to pick from but they were all in bins. I did take the time before coming to check their website. It did not say anywhere on it the final dates for attractions. When I asked a worker she acted like I was bothering her and said everything is closed & there are no more hay rides. The only pumpkins left were the ones in the bins and then walked away. I had 2 very upset girls and they could care less. With it already being late into the evening we picked our pumpkins and left. I will not being giving my business to this place anymore & I enjoy helping local businesses. read more

Its a nice drive up Jackson Highway. This place has outstanding produce. Still selling tons of corn right now which is just top notch. Price might be a touch higher than in Sacramento grocery stores, but it just seems to taste better. Certainly recommend the trip. read more

Sadly, our first trip to Davis Ranch was also our last trip. We decided to pick up corn for our bbq from here because we heard amazing things about the corn from Sloughhouse. There were a few places on yelp, and ultimately we chose Davis Ranch based on the positive reviews. Unfortunately our quest for sweet corn was not sweet at all. By the time we got there, there weren't many bags of corn left. We looked at the corn and noticed that the kernels were small, which usually indicates that the corn was picked prematurely. Also, there were a lot of flies around the corn. Despite this, we decided to purchase a bag anyways, just to try it. However, we ended up leaving abruptly and not purchasing a bag because one of the woman employees was rude, condescending and not helpful at all. She scolded us for looking at the kernels. In addition, she was not helpful in answering our questions about the corn and gave us attitude. Generally, I prefer to shop locally and my experience with local farms has been great. However, this was probably the worst experience I've had. There was ample parking and it's easy to find because it's right off 16. They have a pretty diverse selection of products but it appears that they do not grow everything themselves, and resell products. For example, their strawberries had the same, or very similar, packaging as the strawberries at the grocery store. Also, the strawberries didn't look or smell as sweet as the ones I usually purchase at the farmers market from the vendors that only sell strawberries. We didn't have an opportunity to check out the rest of Davis Ranch because of our experience with the employee. read more

California is truly the land of fruits and nuts. It was a beautiful drive to the Davis Ranch. Took the wagon. We bought strawberries, blueberries and corn-nuts to fuel us up on a road-trip down the Jackson Highway. The blueberries were perfectly ripe and deliciously sweet. I could not stop eating the cornuts. On the drive I repeatedly annoyed my wife by asking, "Are there anymore cornuts?" Them was tasty. We'll try the beans and famous Sloughhouse Corn tonight. read more

This review is for the Christmas tree farm only. I usually get my tree at Billy Tree farm in Wilton but their selection of reasonable sized trees is dwindling. So this year I went to Davis Ranch. GREAT selection of trees! I gave them two stars for the following reasons. First off there are cars driving all over the place. I prefer a place that makes people walk with a hand cart. This place feels more like a busy mall than a country tree farm. Second is that they charge an additional $5 to net the tree! My tree was too big to net and I did not want it netted but for $35 I think they could include $0.50 of netting for free. Third they did not have a tree shaker. This is the vibrating plate that removes all of the dead needles from your tree. For some trees this is a must unless you want to have needles falling from your tree the entire holiday season. I spent hours vacuuming up needles. I have NEVER been to a tree farm that has not had a shaker. At $35 a tree I think they are probably making enough to buy one. Perhaps they could charge an addition $5 for this too! Lastly the checkout was a nightmare. I got on the line that was both the checkout for cars and foot traffic and the foot traffic people just kept going to the front and holding up the cars. I am going to go somewhere else next year even if it means I have to drive into the foothills. read more

I love the idea of this place, but it didn't quite hit the mark for me. Its a cute produce stand out in the middle of nowhere, with great countryside views to enjoy. For some reason, I thought this stand was selling produce grown by "Davis Ranch". However, their produce is from different growers from all over, delivered just like your local grocery store. The prices range from slightly better than the grocery store (bell peppers, onions), to about the same (potatoes, bags of nuts), to more expensive (bananas). I went during the week, so I have a feeling a Saturday visit would yield fresher produce and an open bbq food stand. Maybe we'll try again later, but for this visit, it was just "ok". OMG! The only way to describe this place is... THE BEST CORN EVER!! We go out here multiple times in the summer and also in the fall. They have amazing produce and the best corn ever. It is super sweet and juicy. They sell big bags of it and its a great price! We always head out here before we have parties at our house to get corn and everyone raves about it. Not to mention we just get it for ourselves throughout the summer. It's sooooo good. Even though the drive is a little ways out Jackson hwy it is a nice and relaxing drive and well worth what you get there. Also they have a pumpkin and gourd festival in the fall. We always go here to get some fun pumpkins and gourds for decorations. They have really neat and different varieties. I would recommend checking it out. The pumpkin prices are GREAT! read more

travel couple hours one way... love the nongmo corn def taste the difference the day they are picked vs the next day vs the next n so on but still super yum oh n did i mention NONgmo :) my fav the seeded watermellon tho :( ... not only did the price go up a dollar but not as sweet n red as last year...very juicy tho lots of watermellon water but just isnt as flavorful nor as sweet so wont be making hella trips this year hohum cut bac on the poop i guess this year read more
