    U-Pick Info
    Joy H.

I went on a Tuesday to check out the U-Pick. U-Pick is on Tuesdays and Saturdays thru mid November. As you can imagine Saturdays are very busy and crowded. My experience on Tuesday was great! No big crowds, and the weather was in the 70s! Upon entrance to the U-Pick they weigh your vehicle on the vehicle scale. When you exit, your vehicle is weighed again to determine the weight of the produce you picked. They give you a cheat sheet that shows which vegetables are planted where, with a designated colored flag. The fields of vegetables cover a massive amount of acreage. It was great picking the vegetables knowing where they came from. I also have a great appreciation for those who farm and pick vegetables for a living. The staff on site were all very friendly and helpful. I noticed there were many water stations throughout the various areas of the vegetable fields. The tomatoes, egg plants, green beans, jalapeños, red, yellow and green bell peppers, and other summer produce are plentiful and beautiful as the end of summer approaches. It's that time of year for corn harvesting, so I was pretty happy to be going through the corn bins to pick out freshly harvested yellow corn. Overall you can't beat the $0.50-$0.55 cents per pound for all the produce that you pick ($20 minimum). Note: The pumpkins and corn are already picked and placed in large bins for you to pick from. There is also the produce area at the entrance of the ranch where you can buy already harvested vegs, fruit, pies, nuts, dried fruit, white and yellow corn, etc. I will be returning a few more times to get more fresh seasonal vegetables.

My husband and I really enjoyed our experience at David Ranch. We got really healthy fruits and vegetables at a low price. We'll definitely be coming back more often. Bring plastic bags and buckets, dress comfortable, and dont forget gloves. Thanks for the peaceful and amazing farming day!

Stopped by the Davis ranch to get a Christmas wreath. Looks great and smells good. While there we picked up some snacks and vegetables. They also have a huge tree farm, you can cut your own tree or get a pre cut one. This place has lots snacks, fruits and vegetables to buy. Even pies. Tons of parking. It's just right off of Jackson road.

1st time driving by this produce stand & I just had 2 stop!!! It was on the larger size w/ soooo many different types of produce. And the prices weren't 2 bad. They had items like watermelons, zucchinis, peppers, tomatoes, garlic, pumpkins, etc. they also had different candies, jams, pies, etc. and the staff was hard @ work!!! U should definitely stop by & check it out!!!

The U-Pick experience is a fun family activity for Saturday mornings. It opens at Sunrise and closes at 1pm. The price is $.45 per lb CASH/ $.50 per lb CARD and a $20 Minimum. This is way cheaper than the grocery store - and you can have fun with your family. You drive your car onto the scale when you arrive. Then you drive your car back onto the scale when you leave. Make sure to take some bags/boxes to hold all of your picked items.

Checking in was easy. We arrived at 558am on a Saturday, there's already 40+ cars ahead of us! You drive your vehicle into the scale going in to weigh yoir car when you enter and exiting. Each area has their own flag representing which vegetables are located. Price: 45 cents a pound if paying by cash. 50 cents a pound if paying by credit card. There are various kinds from watermelons corn melon cucumbers tomatoes squash zucchini, onion american eggplants green beans, snowpeas etc. They also sell various pies. Its a great experience for the family to have. The place is clean. There's a portable potty. We ended up having 150 pounds of veggies and fruits. Definitely worth going back.

Always a nice stop to get fresh produce and seasonal goodies. Lots of homemade foods and decor.

Was under a time crunch and passing through the Hwy 16 corridor.Wanted to stop for corn but worried about being late. Then I remembered that a few weeks ago, I'd seen that Davis Ranch had numerous prebagged bundles of 8 ears of corn on the counter by the registers. We would be able to stop, rush in, and not have to bag ears of corn. We could dash in and out very quickly! And we did. Thanks, Davis Ranch, for making it easy and convenient to buy your excellent corn!

Still a bunch of humungo pumpkins here :)

Passmore Ranch is a premium freshwater, sustainable fish ranch in Northern California. They started selling live fish at farmers' markets, and the quality and great service made them premier purveyors for top restaurants and Michelin-starred chefs through out the country such as: - Monterey Bay Aquarium's Culinary partner and James Beard Awardee Napa Valley chef Cindy Pawlcyn. - Top Chef Master Rick Moonen, RM Seafood and the Broiler Room at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas. - 3 Michelin starred chef Christopher of the Restaurant at Meadowood in Napa Valley. - Dallas and Top chef John Tesar, former the Mansion, Spoon Bar & Kitchen Dallas, now open Knife, a modern steakhouse in Dallas, TX - 2 Michelin starred chef Dominique Crenn, Aterlier Crenn, San Francisco - 2 Michelin Starred chef Cory Lee, Benu, San Francisco - 1 Michelin starred chef Ken Frank, La Toque - 1 Michelin starred chef Peter Armellino, Plumed Horse - 1 Michelin Starred chef Matthew Accarrino, SPQR - Restaurants: Ad Hoc Napa, One Market SF, WaterBar SF, e"Toile Domain Chandon Napa Just to name a few, with 80 million gallons of fresh water pumped up from the pristine cosummes aquifer. The ranch has a variety of open lakes and tanks to increase the variety of sustainable fish as they grow. I got to talk to the man behind it all Mr. Michael Passmore and his team, such a wonderful team. They do everything themselves with focus on environmental responsibility for the fish, the water, mother earth, and the community. Passmore Ranch also offers fish to "Home Chefs", they come in 2 sized boxes, Little Bounty and Big Bounty, they also add their produces from their garden and sometimes recipes too. They also offer special dinner with guest chefs and wine pairing from wineries around the country. This special dinners are only offer less than 10 seating, and it sold out almost immediately. You got to come early, watch the guest chefs preparing the food for you, plating, telling the story, and serving you. It's very intimate, fulfilling and delicious. I feel like a queen the last time I was there at the ranch. Chef Kelly McCown of Goose & Gander on the recent Supper at the Ranch with guest chefs Chef Billy Ngo of Kru Contemporary Japanese Cuisine, Chef Pajo Bruich and Chef Tyler Bond helping out. What an amazing feast it was. I got to try the bass, trout, sturgeon, catfish and probably more, pairing with J.Lassale Champagne and Sobon Estate Wines. I also got to taste their American Sturgeon caviar. It was delicious. They got like 8 tanks of these 110-120 lbs sturgeons, they are bigger than me!!!! The ranch also has goats, chickens, ducks, and a donkey. What an AMAZEBALLS time I had there, and hether you are a chef, a home chef, or just a fish lovers, for sustainable, healthier choice of fish and produce, Passmore Ranch is the choice, and look out for their monthly SUPPER, a MUST TRY. Thank you Passmore Ranch, follow them @PassmoreRanch on Twitter and IG.

Super friendly staff, and a cozy, well maintained working farm/garden area that is perfect for a Saturday morning with the kids. They have a small playground and a covered area where a "mud kitchen" will keep your kids entertained for quite a while. The cafe runs out of food pretty early, so order up fast. Everyone here seems to wrap up by lunchtime (when it gets warm/hot). Parking can be very restricted in the adjacent lot - you may need to park near the soccer fields and walk a bit. There's a lot to see from chickens, a variety of flowers and fields of them with different vegetables and fruits like tomatoes and cucumbers, etc. since it was a work outing and we were all walking together, there wasn't much time to stop and check everything out. So I will probably be back before summer ends. They also had a a couple of greenhouses and I heard from a colleague that they have a little farmer's market on certain days. If you like being out in nature, seeing animals and smelling the flowers, check this place out. It's a free entry to the farm and I think they used to have more animals. I only saw the chickens.
