My son (14) was discharged from Silver Oaks yesterday. As a parent, you will never feel "good"…read moreabout sending your child to an in-patient facility. But, as a parent of a child struggling with mental health issues, there may be a time where it is absolutely necessary. Due to our location and the timing of available in-patient care, Silver Oaks was really our only option. Reading other Google and Yelp reviews gave us serious reservations about leaving our child here, but I am happy to report that he had a perfectly fine 7 day treatment. These sorts of places are not 5-star resorts. Communication with your child is very limited: There is only one hour of in-person visitation per week. There are only a few opportunities for phone conversations per day (limited to 5-10 minutes per call max) and the child must call out to speak to you, you will not have much luck calling in during the specified phone times. All of this being said, he was safe, well taken care of and received some necessary counseling, group therapy and an adjustment to his meds. This is something that is incredibly hard to accept, but there does come a time in these scenarios when parents can no longer handle the load and need professionals to step in. In response to some other reviews of verbal abuse, lost items or unapproved meds being administered: We had some underwear that was lost by the staff and had to drop more off. That was it. No other issues during his stay. My criticism of Silver Oaks is that there was an inconsistency across the board in terms of which therapist or social worker we would get updates from. It was really whomever was on-staff. This resulted in a lack of continuity and consistency and his treatment likely suffered a bit from this. At discharge, we were handed a stack of papers and the next steps (PHP or IOP) were completely put in our hands to arrange. They made suggestions, but this step was not set into motion by Silver Oaks. As parents in a crisis situation, having a professional's guidance through the next steps in his mental health treatment would have been very valuable. Good luck to you all and god bless.

DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE TO SILVER OAKS. ZERO STARS. This facility should be shut down after my…read moreelderly mother was there for 3 1/2 days. After they overdosed her, they called me to try to get consent. Then told me nonchalantly they couldn't wake her up at 1 pm. Thankfully, my brother went there, and she was in serious condition. They brought her to him, slumped in a wheelchair, not even in her own clothes. He told them to call an ambulance. They said it would take 2 hours. My brother called 911 himself, and they arrived thankfully in a couple of minutes. They had past medical records they never consulted. I called the moment she arrived there to talk to Tejal Batel. She didn't bother to call me for 2 days. My brother drove 2 hours to see her on Thursday, and they refused to let him see her. I tried calling several times on Friday and could never talk to her; it always went to voicemail, and they never returned calls. They were overmedicating her since she got there. On Friday, I spoke to Tejal Batel and authorized 2 prescriptions for her. That evening, they gave her 2 drugs I agreed to plus FIVE more powerful drugs, all sedating. My mother is still hospitalized 5 days after they overdosed her. I just got her discharge paperwork; no word of being overdosed. AVOID this incompetent facility. I am disgusted and shocked at the treatment she received.

However, I came in one day to get medical records from Wolfe Behavioral and I happened to run into Dr. Holland. She immediately convinced me that I should test for ADHD.... First of all, I don't come to Wolfe behavioral health for ADHD. I know i don't have ADHD. But she was very persistent that I get testing done, so I agreed. She asked for my email and phone number so she could contact me. Never happened. I guess the testing also takes 4-6 weeks because of the insurance. I understand Dr. Holland was trying to be helpful but the other reviews for this place almost have the same experience with Holland. Ridiculous. I definitely do not recommend Dr. Holland.

When my child was finally tested I was happy with Dr. Holland. After testing we waited weeks for results. Yes, they give you scales for teachers to fill out but I got that back quickly. Again, several calls about when the report would be ready. When we finally had our follow up with Dr. Holland she gave us some suggestions for therapy and told us the office would contact us. Never happened. I'm going somewhere else. There are other options and although Dr. Holland was great, I will not be going back or referring anyone I know.

This in my mind was my fault so I didn't even complain about that. Then I rebooked, paid hours ahead, only for them to tell me less than an hour before that I needed a longer appointment--and I had to pay $176 more. These appointments had been on the schedule for at least two weeks. So at the last minute, I'm told I must reschedule and pay more? This definitely should have been caught before! Ridiculous. I pushed back, but eventually, I paid. A day or two later, I joined the appointment, sat on Zoom for 30 minutes--no doctor. Despite text, verbal, and email confirmations, I was told the appointment was never confirmed with the doctor. No compensation, no solution--just "reschedule." Even the supervisor would give no other solution than reschedule. I had similar issues years ago, hence why I hadn't returned. As someone experienced in medical offices, it's obvious--they don't pay attention, don't care, and I can't recommend this place. To be clear, Dr. Williamson and Dr. West are amazing at what they do--but the front staff are full of imbeciles.

I had to finish one last session for court with Meghan, and I was up all night helping my sister with her 3 kids because she just had a new born. Also, she has a 2 year old I watch for her when she can't take the stress of being a single mom. I told Meghan I was tired. Then, SHE INSTANTLY OFFERED TO END EARLY, her idea, not mine, but she decided to leave that part out for some reason. Then I find out she lied and said I was sleeping durring the session! Which the judge and states attorney were confused when they found out it wasn't a group session. Basically, the way it was described by the state's attorney, Meghan just sat there and let me sleep right in front of her, in a 1 v 1 session, which didn't happen, flat out lie. I take 6mg Xanax every day for dual diagnosis of panic attacks and as a combined anti-convulsant to go with my gabapentin that I take 900mg of a day for epilepsy, so you can imagine after staying up all night helping my sister with her 2 years old and newborn and being on a heavy downer like Xanax with no sleep, yea, I was drowsy, but instead she lied and said I slept through the session, again, didn't happen. She's not only a bad counselor but a bad person for falsifying court information, which you can go to jail for when you lie to the court. Do NOT choose Meghan if you go to this place, she wronged me for no reason. This is exactly why I didn't want to let her in with any information. So she decided to make up her own information and try to send me to jail. This place is a joke, if you want real counseling, I suggest you go elsewhere. I thought I finally found a counselor I could trust, then she turned around and lied to my Social Service Worker. Like who outs themselves like that? Meghan claimed she let me sleep during the 30 minutes before you offered to end early? Thankfully the judge realized how assinine the situation was and terminated my court super vision.
