I have been a customer of Davis Visionworks for years. On November 15, 2024, I attended my annual appointment at 703 Montauk Highway (Davis Visionworks Great South Bay). My appointment was initially scheduled for noon. I entered the store at 12:10 pm and was advised by Julie that I had to reschedule because I was late. I then stated I thought there was a fifteen-minute grace period. Julie then said they only allowed five minutes. I then asked to speak to the manager to see if I could still be seen. The manager, Joe Fulco, explained the store policy regarding appointment times to me.  During this time, I could tell he felt irritated that I had requested to speak to him due to his demeanor. I then stated information regarding the grace period should be made clear on the website so customers are aware. Mr. Fulco  stated, "The website doesn't need to say to be on time for you to be on time."  At this point, I told Mr. Fulco that I no longer wanted to reschedule and to file a complaint through corporate. As Mr. Fulco wrote down corporate information, I reiterate that his unprofessional comments towards me were unappreciated. Mr. Fulco then ripped the paper with the corporate information and told me to get it myself. I then said you know everything is on camera; that wasn't smart to do. At this point, I felt utterly disrespected and devalued as a paying customer. I proceeded to write down the store employees' names and exited the location.  This behavior committed by Joe Fulco is entirely unacceptable. Mr. Fulco should not hold a supervisory position at Visionworks. He should understand that he is held to a higher standard as a representative of your organization. The customer is always right, no matter what. The disrespectful behavior and unprofessional comments were not necessary. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION! read more

I am leaving this review because if anyone else has a similar issue that they should call and file a complaint. I was home with the flu and asked my son (22yrs old) to take his sister (16yrs) for an eye appointment. Not only did my daughter feel Doctor Manin was rude to her and in her words "mean" but felt it was because she was Hispanic. The supervisor Joe fulco gave me some BS about not having her prescription over the phone and in my opinion was steering a specific product. When confronted with a valid doctors prescription he back stepped his words. I have had issues at this location and it's the reason I stopped going there in particular. It was just a error on my wife making it at that specific location. I did file a complaint immediately. read more

I have been going to the West Babylon location for years. When I recently got a prescription for new glasses I thought about trying Costco but then thought about allof the times that Joe helped me with broken & bent frames over the years. I've been in for many adjustments, nose pads , screw tightening etc. When I decided to stay with Davisvision I had the pleasure of meeting Camilla for my new glasses . After a seamless visit picking put new frames & getting measurements I was told possibly 2 weeks they would be ready. I received a text 6 days later that my glasses were ready. I wore them home that day & placed them in the case a few hours later. The next day I was trying them again and had a problem with the earpiece. I brought them back and Camilla tried adjustments but decided " your glasses are new and I don't want you having any issues down the road" She changed my frames out for new frames while I waited. Amazing Store, with amazing customer service. Im glad I stuck with my decision. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I was a few minutes late and was told I could not be seen because the next three people were already in. They told me I could wait an hour and they would take me. I decided to leave to run errands in the area. I called an hour later to see if they would honor their offer and they turned me down again as the doctor was seeing the last patient of the day. read more

I had a very similar experience as stated below. I was 9 minutes late but had been trying to call the office for about 15 minutes beforehand to let them know. There was an automatic response and when I finally reached a person I was immediately put on hold until the moment I reached the door. When the front desk person realized I was late she didn't even say a word to me and handed me off to her supervisor who said I could just wait around to see if they could get me in. If the norm is 10-15 minute grace period, you should put a notice with your appointment reminders to not bother to show if more than 5 minutes late. I admit I was late by 9 minutes but the fact that I could not even get a person on the phone to discuss prior to arriving was really frustrating and when I arrived at the store in person was treated like a burden. When I explained I had been trying to call, the person just said yea well we are busy. If that's the case, hire more people. I previously had a great experience here but I will not be rescheduling or returning to this office read more

My kids always had annual eye exams for 7 years at this location, but we are not going back to this store anymore since they messed up with my daughter's contact lenses. She is the first time to try contact lenses and we paid the fee, we were told not to take the lenses home to practice to put on, the only way was making another appointment to try in the store and the lenses were too big to put on. My daughter had tried for an hour and failed, her eyes turned red and not comfortable. We both thought the lenses not worked for her, however the Korean optometrist kept saying try more time. I asked to bring home to practice, they refused. That's not the right place for people who want to get contact lenses. read more

From the moment I walked in the door and met Rose on the customer profile, to the examination, I knew I was in the right place. Afterwards, she and Camille worked with me on multiple office eyeglasses and sunglasses without being rushed. But it was when I came back to pick up my order that they confirmed that I am now, officially a customer for life. They insisted that they want me back in their office for any follow up exams or service to a broken frame or lens. Without question, I couldn't have asked for a better experience! I can't fathom how this location has such high ratings. I went here a little after the pandemic in 2020 with my husband and they were rude. The doctor was nice, but the staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful. I chalked it up at the time to the state of the world and them trying to handle new protocols. Fast forward to 2022 and I make another appointment for my husband and I - eye exam and glasses. We arrive EIGHT minutes late, EIGHT. This is due to an important call as we were leaving from our vet about picking up our dogs after a dental procedure the same day. We walk in and no one greets us, we walk to the counter saying we have appointments and give our names. Both the staff member and the doctor stand there behind the counter without so much as a glance in our direction. The staff at the computer says nothing, but the doctor standing next to them replies "You know you are 8 minutes late", immediately giving us an attitude to which I retort "Yes! because we got a call from our vet where our dogs had a dental appt today" - no response from the staff or doctor. I said "what do you want me to do... reschedule?!" "The doctor replies "I can definitely see one of you today" I stop them there as obviously we've made these appointments together to both help each other with the glasses and having one car. At that point, I said "I'll just be rescheduling at a different location as this is the second time we've been rudely treated". I'm not excusing us being late, but LIFE happens and yes the call from our vet was more important -- being EIGHT minutes late when we have back to back appointments seems a bit absurd to me. In a professional setting things still happen but you make it work, not sure why a total 40 minute double appt is now unsalvageable because you only have 32 minutes. Especially when you'll what make one of us wait while the other goes, and then have the other come back? Why not offer a reschedule of the double appointment even?! Because getting back to back appointments for us at Visionworks is a nightmare too with the automated system. We will never return to this incredibly rude location and go a little further to the Massapequa location we've used previously for years without incident. At least we got to pick up our dogs earlier, the only good part of the entire distasteful experience. read more

Joseph Was Rude!!! I went to this location back in April 2022 and was good with the place; however, I recently called on 8/31 as my vision needed testing again and made an appointment for 9/12 for 6pm or at least that was what I thought. Due to traffic, called to let them know that I was on my way, only to be told by Joseph that there wasn't an appointment schedule for me and wouldn't be able to see the doctor in any case. Since I was a few minutes out, I stopped in the facility to get a copy of my prescription and again Joseph was unapologetic about his coworker not entering my appointment and implied that I was lying about speaking to someone to schedule an appointment which I didn't appreciate at all. He kept saying I was late, but the fact of the matter is even if I was on time, I still would not have been able to see the doctor as no appointment was in the system for me. His coworker dropped the ball and the lack of trying to fix the situation to get me in a little quicker considering I was there in April and back again now means something has changed with my vision went on deaf ears. Thanks Joseph as I will be going somewhere else and will not recommend anyone to this facility due to your rudeness. read more

Don't go here! Lack of customer service. I had received an eye exam and ordered contacts. While ordering, i asked if the contacts could be delivered to my home. The employee said no problem. That was close to 3 WEEKS ago. When I called to check the status my order, after a grueling interaction with their automated "customer service", they had no record of my order. I then had to sit through the automated service just to be connected to the actual store where they told me "Oh yea, your order has been in". When we're they going to let me know!? Their excuse was "oh well we just put it in the system and they should've contacted you". Absolutely no accountability, and no remorse. As the name say, this is my VISION we are talking about. I've had previous issues here and because I like some of the ppl who work here, I've fell back from verbalizing them. I've been coming here for years. However, I had poorly crafted glasses TWICE and several incidences of frames that broke and could not be repaired. One time the glasses were just blurry and I was told I had to adjust to the progressives....those glasses never work out properly. I had to go back to my old glasses. That was a waste of my time and $400. The next 2 pairs I got were fine.....A year in a half later the same thing occurred again with the blurriness....I went back several times, being asked to bring in the glasses that I felt the most comfortable in ( because that lady measured the PDs and everything correctly). I kept getting the "oh you have to get use to it" speech. i was so annoyed bcuz those cost even more$$$$. I wrote a review of what happened and at that point, they EVENTUALLY sent it back to wherever the glasses were made and lo and behold they were corrected. So this year I go for my appointment, I was SIX MINUTES late. The manager was calling me while I was standing in front of him. I tell him " hi I'm here you are calling me right now". He RUDELY tells me I can wait but I missed my appointment! After 6 minutes? Missed?....ok. If that's your policy what is the customer's compensation when we wait because I have waited SEVERAL times at this location for the doctor as well as floor staff to purchase those overpriced poorly made eyeglasses? If that's you're policy, what was the purpose of him calling him? Mind you, he's telling me how busy it is and doesn't know how long the wait will be because he took a walk-in in my spot!!! In 6 minutes? ok.....but there were more staff than customers on the floor. I couldn't see in the back but it's not big enough to hold more than 2 , 3 more people back there at maximum. I've waited almost every time I've come to this west babylon location in a timely manner, and albeit 6 minutes, I was late this time, so I'll wait, I'm not above waiting but it's not what you say, it's HOW you say it. Chastising paying adults like they're children is a no-go, hence why brick and mortar stores are sadly becoming a thing of the past. On average, I spend $600 for glasses and that's after my insurance kicks in $100 towards the glasses and I know folks that pay more. Truthfully, for 2 years, I've used my script and gotten cute backup glasses at a fraction of the cost of Visionwork from Zenni and Zeelool and surprisingly without a problem thus far so moving forward I'll just use Visionworks AT A DIFFERENT LOCATION for scripts ONLY which is free under my plan and I will just order online. I'm completely done with the overpriced inconsistent lenses and funky, moody customer service. I tried to work with this location but I'm moving on. I called him back to let him know that his actions were a pure example of lousy customer service and that I'd never be back. His response ...."well good luck". Passive aggressive behavior. I have just recently got new Insurance so decided i needed to go to the eye doctor. I Called Davis Visionworks and got a same day appt. actually within 20 minutes there was an available appt. Walked in and filled out my new patient form and within a few short minutes was called into the appt. Dr. there was fantastic! Patient with my blinky eyes! Went to pay co pay and the woman there was very knowledgeable about my insurance. She informed me that if I got the year supply of contacts it was no charge for them or the visit. And that because I got the contacts I could receive 60% off their frames or if I bring in my own the replacement lenses will be 25% off. Highly recommend! read more

The absolute worst customer service EVER. For 2 days I've been trying to get a prescription sent to me. The store says they have to Fax it or Mail it, but cannot email it. FOR TWO DAYS I've been asking for them to fax it (who has a fax machine in 2021 by the way?!?) So I sit, and wait unable to get new contacts, and every time I call they seem shocked it hasn't been done yet. Send a Fax should literally take 2 minutes, TOPS, probably closer to 30 seconds. Wow!!! Great service! I had an appointment and was taken in as soon as I walked through the door. Everyone was polite and helpful. Covid precautions were all taken and sanitizer was available throughout the location. The Optician, Susan, was super! She helped with my insurance and thoroughly went through all the options available to get me into the right pair of glasses. She was patient and friendly and really helpful. Quick turn around on 2 new pairs of prescription glasses and a new prescription sunglasses that I desperately needed due to an accidental loss and change in vision. After a horrible experience I was reluctant to try another visionworks. Low and behold all was not a loss and there ARE associates that care. My son crushed my glasses when he rolled in my bed for hugs and kisses. Adorable yes but my glasses looked like a freight train crushed them. What to do since it went horribly wrong at another VW? My husband went to Visionworks in W Babylon and Nikki was kind, professional and even fixed them on the spot. Nikki is a lifesaver!! The moral of this all is the old expression "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water" if you're not happy try another VW and luckily employees like Nikki restored my faith in Visionworks! read more

So I've never been to any Davis before. I have never ever had vision insurance, so I have been going to my local opticians in Babylon Village for as long as I've lived. My job offers vision, so I picked it up. Unfortunately, my opticians for 25 years, doesn't take insurance, and not being made of money, my insurance introduces me to Davis. I had a 6:30pm appointment. Most offices I go to after work hours are always packed. This place wasn't, but the doctor left right after my exam, so I guess I was the last appointment. I was called in as soon as I finished my paperwork. The place is large, and all the staff who helped me was extremely friendly. The doctor was quick, but I didn't feel rushed (I wanted to get home too!) Once out, I was about to order contacts with my insurance, and mentioned I might want to pay for glasses down the road (my insurance will only pay for one or the other). The woman kindly explained to me that if I was getting both, and paying for one, it would be more beneficial to order the contacts, and have insurance throw in for my glasses instead. The woman who helped me pick out my frames was extremely nice and patient with me as I tried on alot of pairs, offering advice to help aesthetically as well as technologically as I wear coke-bottle thick lenses. I ended up getting the exam, contacts and new frames, with scratch-resistant, polished, anti-glare lenses for only $238, which normally should have cost over $800. Granted, this is pretty much due to my insurance, but the staff here were helpful in me saving as much money as possible, ringing up different options for me so I could see all my options, and advising me on how best to save. And for those who don't have insurance, they were offering buy one get one free on frames, which is helpful for uninsured families. read more

It's nice to have a decent selection of frames to choose from. I have visited another location and wasn't happy with the selection of frames in that store. I had no glitches in my transaction. I picked a frame with no help from staff. It is nice to have a hand when you have limited experience in picking frames. I would find it helpful to have somebody to ask questions to without walking across the store. It's good to have a guide while trying on. There was plenty of staff around in the day I went in. Once the frames were chosen, I had my exam with a tech who checked for glaucoma then I saw the eye Dr. , it a fast exam, my eye prescription hasn't changed too much. The glasses were done by the promise date. I picked them up, tried them on and we fit them for me. Paid cash. Prices are fair for a chain store. read more

Have been a long time customer and always had a good experience. After many years of always getting the same style frame this year they discontinued that frame. Ordered a new style and to make a long story short after wearing them for a while I had a few complaints and was not happy. Because one of the rubber nose pads fell off I went into the Lindenhurst store and asked was there any chance I could use my old frames and have the new glass added. The mgr. Howard stepped in and from beginning to end not only helped me get new frames he did it with a smile and great attitude. When I thanked him he said two things "are you happy" and "did I have a reasonable request". On March 4, 2019 , my daughter's teacher contacted me with concern about her squinting and not being able to see the SMART BOARD from her desk . I decided to walk into Davis Visionworks and inquire about making an appointment . I was graciously greeted by the lovely young lady behind the counter and to my surprise was fortunate enough to be given an appointment within the next 30 minutes . My 7 year old daughter was a little nervous about seeing an optometrist and perhaps needing glasses being this was her first eye exam / visit . All of those feelings quickly left her . She was at such ease due to the Dr. not only explaining her diagnosis to me but actually speaking to her also . Afterwards , we were helped by Nikki - she was quite patient and helpful in helping us pick out some cool frames ! Not only did we leave the same day with my daughter's 2 new pairs of glasses ( there was a special " BUY 1 PAIR GET the 2nd PAIR FOR FREE ) - her amazing Dr . gave us really cute ( upgraded ) eye glass cases ! I highly recommend and personally will be returning back read more

My husband and I went in to VIsionworks to inquire if our insurance was accepted there. If so, our plan allowed up to $150 for frames, everything we wanted was included and exam was $10. So, theoretically I could walk out with a pair of bifocals, with sun sensor, anti reflective, scratch coat, blah blah....for $10 under my plan. After about 40 minutes with an associate, it was finally determined, yes, our ins. Is accepted there, great! I made an appt. for the following week for my exam. I picked out frames while I was there so it would be quick an easy when I returned. Exam day, appt for 11am. I was there on time, I wasn't taken until 11:50, there were 2 people ahead of me. Not happy. Finally get exam, all good with that. Now time to work up the glasses themselves, sit down with associate, told her I want bifocals. She works it up on computer and informs for all I want, progressives will run me $397.....WTH!!! I said I didn't ask for progressives, she explained the her mgr decided I won't do well with bifocals coming from progressives. I said it really isn't up to him what I get is it?!?! Can we work up bifocals now?! She proceeded to work up cheaper progressives, the audacity! I said look, I'm 55 yrs old, I've worn progressives, bifocals, contacts, straight glasses with separate reading glasses, I don't need you dictating what I get. Either work up a bifocal, or you can give me my prescription and I can walk out that door! She worked up the bifocal but with none of the options covered by ins and gave me an excuse why I couldn't have any of those without paying for any of those. At this point I was done, I said I'm not buying glasses today, I'm done. I left, explained all this to my husband. He made some calls and turns out this place LIED, our ins is NOT good there, very little kicks in and that's why all the covered options were not options for me and why everything she worked up was so expensive!! A complete waste of my time and I'm disabled, I was clearly sick and not not feeling well during this 2 hour debacle and it was raining cats and dogs out!! read more
