Jason came out and gave us a quote on Tuesday evening and returned with Ethan the next day to get the work done. Jason had told me that they planned to get it all done and have us with power and water that day. Despite very high humidity and temperatures over 90 all day, Jason and Ethan got it done!!! They were here until just before midnight. We had gotten other quotes but Davison Home Services came in at a lower cost AND could get it done sooner. Total rip offs. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Our furnace stopped working and I called them. They sent out a tech who said we needed an entire new replacement on a 10 year old furnace. Claimed we had cracked heat exchanger. The options the tech gave us was he could fix the exchanger for $3,000 and it would take a week. Then he set up different levels of replacements. Starting from $8,000 up to $13,000. And get this. Was trying to sell us an upgrade package TO REPLACE OUR WORKING AIR CONDITIONER. We didn't have heat. We didn't care about our WORKING air conditioner. We wanted heat. So we declined the service. Called Bud's Heating & Cooling in Lapeer. They sent out a tech who identified the problem AND HAD THE PART ON HIS TRUCK and got it running in 20 minutes. Also the part he put on was a generic part. Two days later the tech ordered the correct part and brought it out and switched it at no additional costs. Now that's service. After reading the other one star reviews this sounds like this dishonest company does this predatory sales pressures all the time! Use Buds Heating & Cooling in Lapeer. Not these crooks. read more

They told my elderly parents, who are on a fixed income, that they needed a $3,000 repair for labor to replace a cracked heat exchanger on their furnace, which was only two years old and still under warranty, Having Been Installed by them. Or a total replacement for $6,000. They also told them that it was too dangerous to run their furnace until it was fixed, putting on the pressure. We had someone else look at it, and the heat exchanger was not cracked, it turned out to be a minor maintenance issue that was easily fixed. My parents had been loyal customers of Davison Heating and Cooling. The previous owners had always done right by them, and they trusted them. It is sad to see that Davison Home Services is not the same and seems to be happy to exploit them. They have lost a loyal customer, they will not be using them again and will be telling their friends and family exactly what happened and not to use them. read more

Davison Home Services confirmed what was obvious: my furnace is ancient and needed to be replaced. No argument there, the tech was friendly enough, and for that you earn 2-stars. The problem is what happened next. They quoted me $21,000 to replace the furnace, redo venting, and a bunch of additional work wrapped into the estimate. I knew it would be expensive, but twenty-one thousand dollars for this job is the kind of number that makes you feel like you are being taken for a ride. Then came the financing pitch. They offered 15-year financing, and even on the low end of their interest range, that would have turned a $21,000 job into roughly a $32,000 job over time. That is not "helpful financing." That is a trap for homeowners who are stressed and just trying to get heat back on. The tech also told me that "nobody is going to touch this furnace," that no licensed company would work on it without major overhauls, and that maybe a handyman would be the only option if I didn't want to go with their 21,000 dollar option. That turned out to be completely false, less than 24 hours later I had a licensed local HVAC crew working on it. For comparison, I called a local company (Krane Heating and Cooling). They found the same issues, recommended the same solution (full replacement), and quoted $6,000 all-in including duct/PVC work. Same problem. Same fix. Not even close to the same price. My suggestion: research the company before you let them into your house. A quick "COMPANY NAME who owns" search goes a long way. If you want a truly local company, pick one that is actually locally owned. Davison is owned by private equity, not a local family business, and my experience matched exactly what you would expect from that model: huge quotes and heavy financing. At 9:30 am, they called saying they were behind schedule and changed the appointment time to 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Had some copper pipe replaced with plastic. The technician ripped the toliet out and broke the tile floor and stated it couldn't be helped! Paid the $1500 for service and one day later water leaked into basement and duct work. He had not put the toliet back properly. They refuse to pay for replacing floor offered us $500. It cost us $1,075 to replace. we would not recommend. So disappointing. We're retired and on a fix income. read more

Short version After installation on 4/28 the ball was dropped in many ways by Davison Heating & Cooling - now Davison Home Services. From a missing part (needed in order to pass inspection) that I am still waiting for going on almost 3 months after install, to being double charged for the entire unit, having a tech come out for 2-3 hours for an estimate only to never provide a quote. It has been the longest drawn out process to wrap this up. Long Version The electrical was done separately, once completed I was scheduled for a start up with a Tech on 5/4. When start up was complete I was advised verbally as well as printed on the invoice : *The cap that covers the hex screw for the valve is missing, office ordering and will get that installed in the next week or two, it will not hurt unit to run* The gentleman said that it would take 2 minutes to put on and since it is on the unit outside, they can just park and put it on without me being home. When paying for the unit, I did part with my account and 3k worth on their 0% financing. When Wells Fargo was set up and I had visibility, I had been charged 6k. After a week, almost two of calling as well as telling them I spoke to Wells Fargo, they fixed it before my first statement cut. Thankfully. After the finance situation was handled, I requested an estimate to add some ductwork in the front room that has the thermostat in it. The Davison Heating & Cooling estimator (Tim) who came out was very friendly, took him about 2-3 hours doing measurements and draw ups. Unfortunately, I never received an estimate, even after multiple follow-up attempts for over a month. Instead of providing an estimate, after a month they sent me a text and voicemail from a technician saying they were coming the following day for another estimate. Keep in mind, I did not request or schedule this with anyone, just asked for my quote. By this point, I had already had HVAC Comfort come out (25 min for an estimate and 2.5 hours to complete the whole job). However, when HVAC Comfort was here, they advised without the cap that covers the hex screw for the valve that was never put on by Davison Home Services (even with over 2 months of me calling and requesting to have it done) my unit would not pass an inspection. I did pay Davison Home Services to pull a permit, an inspection has yet to be done per my knowledge. Called and let a receptionist know I was advised by a city inspector that they would be fined if this was inspected and the part was not on the unit. They again said it would be taken care of. That was last month. Today was my last call back to ask when the cap would be done. Receptionist tried scheduling a technician, so I let her know what every technician from their company had advised me, that they can park and put it on. She wasn't thrilled. It should hopefully be completed by next week. One of the main reasons I had chosen to go with this company was because of the good reviews. Since switching to Davison Home Services, those might be changing. Wouldn't recommend. read more

This company deserves 0 stars! Buyers, please be warned. I called them about an air conditioning unit. They came out and said I needed a new AC Unite, I decided to go ahead with the purchase and installation. The sales guy told me they were only 1 of 3 local companies that could install a Daikin AC unit that would match my furnace, for better performance. I filled out loan documents electronically that day and scheduled my installation for 2 days later. The next day Davison Home Services calls to say I didn't sign the documents and they were sending paper copies for me to sign with the installer before they could install the unit. On installation day, the installer has me sign the documents a second time, this time in hard copy. Then he installs a Bryant AC unit. When I asked about this, I was told they are not licensed to install Daikin Units. A week later this company called to say I didn't sign my loan documents. Then when I called back, they said they found them. Another week later, they called again to say I didn't sign my loan documents. Then said they needed to mail them in, and it would take about 3 weeks. Then about 6 weeks after my AC Unit was installed they sent more documents for me to sign, saying they missed pages that needed to be signed, which I signed and dropped off in the office. Now this company is calling me and harassing me to still sign my loan documents. It's been 6 months, I have never received a bill from a loan company to begin making payments. They can't seem to figure out how to submit the loan with all the documents I've already signed. I'm worried this could be a scam because I have no idea how many loans they have applied for under my name or what they are doing with the documents I've signed. I wish I would have never done business with this company that even the installed admitted was astronomically overpriced, and the office lady, Trish, said they since they sold from Davison Heating and Cooling to Davison Home Services, that they can't quite seem to get everything figured out. I have never worked with a company so unorganized or hard to do business with. I would highly recommend calling other businesses before you decide to do business with Davison Home Services. I am one time felt highly of this company but not any more since it got larger. There is little concern for their customers. I had an appointment set up for Monday morning, but they called Monday morning to ask if I didn't mind if they reschedule because of a lot of people were without any heat and it was in the 30's. I said that was fine as long as someone could come out no later than Friday morning. The company spokesman said not an issue. He said I guarantee someone will be out between 8 AM and Noon. Well Friday morning went by nobody showed. I finally called them at 2:15 PM and was told evidently the repairman was running late. He should be out by five or so. I asked why I was not notified of the delay and the phone person had no answer. She said you should have been called. I told her I couldn't stay at home any longer and had errands to run. She offered to put me on the schedule for the following Friday. When I asked if she could guarantee that I would not have the same issue, she said she could not. I told her I would find a more reliable heating and cooling company for my future service and they lost a customer who had his $8,000 furnace installed by them about two years ago and would be need a new air conditioner next Spring. Now I will use someone else. Do not trust Davison Heating and Cooling, which is now Davison Home Services, unless you wish to be disappointed. read more

Service tech was extremely rude!! Let himself in and didn't even say hello until I did and he grumbled some sort of reply. Walked around with his filthy shoes on my new carpet. Step father came in and said hello and introduced himself also. Had to say it twice to even get some sort of reply. Everyone has bad days and I certainly understand this being an electrician. But this was beyond rude and extremely unprofessional. And to think I used them last time less than a year ago for the Dane issue that they "fixed", and this was repeat business for them. Never again will I use this place and I will definitely be telling 10 people to tell 10 people that if they need hvac work done definitely go somewhere else. we signed up for the maintenance program where they do a spring and fall inspection. spring inspection went well and we made scheduled an October inspection and no one showed up. we called and were told the tech was sick and had to cancel our visit. no one called to tell us the visit was cancelled. Made another appointment for December 4, again no comes out so we called and was told sorry but we're too busy to send a tech but no office call to let us know of the cancellatio. so I asked for a refund of half of our money but they said no our contract had expired. The contract expired because they never showed up for the appointments. Still said no half refund. Offered to come out the next day but we've already wasted two days and I have no intention of wasting another day on a company with such lousy customer service. Let's start by saying that Davison Heating and Cooling is a first class service business. Very professional in approach and in their work. The technician called well ahead of arrival, did the job and was out the door. I'm very pleased. Let's also commend them for commitment to being environmentally conscious. DHC is entirely paperless; likely saving a lot of trees and waste over time. Would I call them again? We moved here about 4 yrs. ago and Davison heating and cooling are th only ones who have done any work on our furnace or AC unit. My husband and I recently had both a new AC unit and furnace installed. We had several estimates from a few local companies including one that we've used for service for the past 15 years. Because of both the professionalism and knowledge of the salesperson they sent out (Joe Ploof) we decided to go with Davison Heating & Cooling. Not only was the salesperson exceptional, but the installers were as well. Both Dave O & Austin were not only extremely courteous but literally a pleasure to have in our home. They were here for all of one day and a good part of the next day as the installation required a lot work, as most people who have had the occasion to have had service professionals working in your home for any length of time it can be quite annoying to say the least. These guys were the exception, the were courteous & thoughtful in every way, cleaned up ALL their messes, in fact left it better than they found it. Most importantly they never ONCE had a bad attitude that you often see in service people or delivery people. They were extremely professional & pleasant to have in our home. Most importantly they did a great job installing our new AC & furnace, they knew what they were doing! I know this sounds like overkill, but seriously if I could clone a model for all service professionals, these guys would be it.
