They have to behave like professionals, answer and return calls, know what they're doing, be patient with the consumer and their concerns, as well as have top notch, post installation consumer care. Also, can't fail to mention clean up after themselves, that's a special concern when you have dogs running the property, you don't need a nail in their paw... We have a ranch home, along with an attached three and a half car garage, so plenty of roof... tear off, replacement, clean up..all completed, in 20 hours! 12 hours the first day and 8 the next! Scheduling was easy, the consultant was on time and prepared, and the quote and financing options were competitive. The crew arrived on time, worked efficiently, and completed the roof quickly, even with two existing layers to remove. We also appreciated the progress photos and prompt follow-up with the invoice, financing paperwork, and final inspection scheduling. Our main concerns were communication, cleanup, and safety. We did not receive a response when we asked for a dumpster delivery time which made planning garage access difficult. We were also told the generator and A/C units would be covered, but they were not. Cleanup during the job was not as thorough as it should have been, with debris blowing into our yard and a neighbor's yard and damage to a security light and gutter flashing. We also observed that no one working on the roof appeared to be using fall protection, which was concerning given OSHA requirements for work over 6 feet. In the end, the roof itself appears to have been installed efficiently and professionally, but better communication, cleanup, and attention to safety would have made the experience much stronger.

Despite raising these concerns, they were not handled appropriately. After installation, I continued to deal with unresolved issues involving the roof, bat concerns, and an insurance claim. Instead of taking ownership and providing a professional resolution, the process became frustrating and unnecessarily difficult. To make matters worse, I received a call from Ryan, the Director of Schoenherr Roofing, requesting payment while these issues were still unresolved and mentioning collections. This approach was unprofessional and showed a lack of accountability and customer care. Don't be fooled by their statements, marketing, or claims about providing a "5-star experience." My experience was the complete opposite. A company should stand behind its work, communicate professionally, and resolve concerns before demanding payment. Based on my experience, Schoenherr Roofing does not deserve even 1 star. I strongly recommend staying away from them.
