It's definitely geared towards kids but as an overgrown child myself, I always stop by every time I'm in Vernon for an apple juice slushie and snack. I also grab the frozen jugs of their delicious apple juice on my way out so they double as ice packs! All their baked goods are made fresh every day, and I'd highly recommend picking up a few packs of the apple pork sausages for summer grilling. A true farm to table experience. My wife had the Summer Special (egg salad on a homemade multi-grain croissant with arugula and a slice of fresh peach pie). Located on the hill on the outskirts of Vernon. It is a little bit of a tourist trap or local attraction, but there is a lot to see and do. The only thing that was disappointing was the fruit and vegetable market, or rather lack thereof. You could only buy cherries and apricots. But they sell preserves (jams, vinaigrettes) and Knick Knacks. There is a nice flower garden, a playground below, an animal petting zoo above, a train ride, several cafes with sandwiches, ice cream and deserts, and the views are spectacular if you can find a spot in the shade. There is something for everyone here. Worth a visit or two. Oh yes, and there is fudge! read more

Yum! Yum! Yum! Our school did a fundraiser through Davison Orchards in which we could select to purchase a case of pears, apples, or a mix. My 8 year old chose a case of Bartlett pears and I am so glad we ordered! Crunchy, fresh, juicy heaven! The brochure for the Orchards Ave accompanying Village, cafe, and tours has me seriously dreaming of a road trip to go visit this 3rd generation farm in Vernon, BC! You can buy lots of different kitchen food items, cute kitchen utensils, kids toys, pies, and the best chocolate cookies in the world . Davison orchard is perfect for when you have guests staying with you and wanting a cute summer day activity! It has a breathtaking view over Vernon and has fun rides for the kids during certain time of the year! The store is a little overpriced (but what little store isn't) and has all fresh fruit/veg and homemade sauces/salsas/baked goods/juices. Everything I've ever bought from there has been delicious but I don't go often seeing as once you've gone a time or two it really just becomes a specialty homemade goods store. This summer our family in Vernon took us to this orchard for something to do, which they considered a nice, family-friendly excursion. Not being familiar with Vernon and it being the heart of orchard country, I was interested in seeing some fruit trees and maybe even have the chance to pick some to take home. I was pleasantly surprised, this place was more then I expected! There is no admission, however, additional activities are where the cost lie. We chose to pay admission for the kid's activities, which kept my seven year old busy playing and feeding the animals. They have a nice expansive store filled with fresh fruit, delicious baked goods and various country inspired tchotkes. Love it here, I come here every summer on my annual okanagan trip. I had my quarters ready to get feed for Salsa the dockey and gang, but looks like they are building them new homes. I am not sure that "quaint" even begins to properly describe this spot. I happened by Davison Orchards this past May Long and it's an adorable, family-owned farm that bakes some of the best Grandma-style apple pie that side of the Rockies. The apples that are used to make the pies are grown right on the property and you can take a little tractor ride around the fields on a tour to see for yourself. They grow other produce on the farm like pears, melons and pumpkins that they sell in a cute touristy market at the top of the hill. They also make their own preservative-free apple juice that they sell single-serve, frozen in 2 L jugs or make into a delicious apple juice slushies. The Orchard was purchased in 1933 by the Davisons for $6,000 (I read that on my place mat) and has been family run and owned ever since. If you happen by Vernon and need a slice of some of the best pie you'll taste until the next time you visit Auntie Mae, stop at Davison Orchards; if you don't feel like 1/4 of a pie is enough, you can buy the pies frozen to bake at home. Made a quick stop at this country farm. Yes, it looked pretty touristy but the pastries at the onsite bakery wasn't gimmicky at all. Wish I bought more goodies from there. The peach loaf was packed with peaches and it was moist. Didn't care there wasn't any sugar in the peach pie. It was oh soooo yummy! Of course the fruits and veggies were darn fresh and cheap. They also sold assort knicknack stuff from rustic soap to gourmet spices to freshly squeezed apple juice. My wife and I brought our toddler to Davison's for a late afternoon visit to the petting zoo before taking a tour of the farm and having lunch in the cafe. This is one if the top tourist destinations in the North Okanagan, IMHO. Must eat/see: beautiful scenery, brilliantly restored heritage buildings, clean and fun petting zoo experience, fresh apple juice and pie is a must try, gift shop is full of bountiful food and classy gifts, not kitsch. Great place to learn about orchards, little tour was amazing, lots for the kids can see and do. Very family orientated. As my kids played for 3.5 hours between the little petting zoo (you have a fence between you and the animals), the mini golf, milking a wooden cow, riding bikes, duck racing, slides and so much more. This was a neat experience, very cool setting, yummy food, cool experience, etc, etc. The whole package. Do I even start? So we started with lunch at the on site cafe. They use all fresh product. The veggies, fruit, you know - orchard-y things, are all grown there. Picked fresh. We had sandwiches (Grandpa's Favorite I think they were called). This sandwich was freaking amazing. I could eat that sandwich daily. Maybe a little pricey, had to constantly remind myself we were paying for quality. And holy man was the quality there. Shopped in the market which is a lovely place. Bought some gifts, and fresh foods for the condo we were staying in. Also, specifically, we bought a peach pie (I'd give my left arm but not the right so I could savour each bite on my fork), mini apple pies (missed on trying but smelled heavenly), and butter tarts (I've never met one I didn't like,it theses were particularly good). We took the tractor train tour, where they taught is about the orchard, okanagan, specific irrigation, and family history. Really worth doing. We finished off in the barn area where we pet and fed some animals. There is also play areas that we didn't have a chance to check out. On the pricey said, all-inclusive, but again the quality was there and you could do it at a lower cost if you missed out on some key features such as lunch and homemade UNBELIEVABLE homemade apple juice (almost forgot about this. I do not like apple juice, or even apples really. I could drink only this.) read more

This place is okay, it's a HUGE tourist attraction even though they only have a few sheep, goats, chickens and that's about it. They don't have much to offer and everything is out of this world expensive. Tractor rides, good and goodies are so up there it's not even fun. The tractor ride is just a small loop around the field.
