My wife has limited English and prefers to speak in Mandarin or Cantonese. There is a limited set of doctors that can speak either language in Sacramento/Elk Grove that is accepting new patients. I went through a whole list of doctors that was fluent in either Mandarin or Cantonese and chose this location due to the following reasons: - Dawei Zheng has a team of nurse practitioners. It isn't a one person operation, we no need to worry about access to care. Wife was able to get an appointment the same week. - No call center. Receptionists picks up the phone immediately. Very friendly contrary to some of the negative reviews seen here. Speak fluent English. Adequately staffed receptionists and medical assistants are important as you never know you'll need a referral. You wouldn't want your prior authorization papers to not be faxed promptly. - Many doctors that speak Mandarin or Cantonese in my medical group is near retirement age. It would be a hassle to change PCPs down the road. My wife enjoyed her clinical visit as the nurse practitoner Yuanying spent actual time listing to my wife's concern. The follow-up visit included the provider explaining lab results in-depth. A lot of clinics are focused on churning patients due to low health insurance reimbursement, but this clinic doesn't do this. My wife's visit felt comprehensive and holistic. Yuanying really spent the time to ask my wife as a person how she was. This isn't just a Chinese clinic as the staff speaks fluent English. read more

Horrible service here also very rude. 1. My mom (the patient) was in critical condition and needed care for and so I called them over the phone if they can sign my paperwork to care for her. Instead they ask to bring her in physically to see how she is while she was still admitted in the ICU hospital. 2. They made an appt for her so after she was discharge she can see them and we saw doctor "Kevin" at that time. Instead of making it easy for us doctor Kevin lecture us about how FMLA works along with frauds. He seen how she looked physically so I don't understand why he'll make any assumption of us in any way which is unacceptable. 3. They charge us on FMLA forms and said it'll take about 5-7 days before the doctor can give us our paperwork back when our forms have an expiring date on it and they said they'll give us a call back when they reach out to Doctor Kevin and they never did. This is really unacceptable and it shows how much they care for their patients. They see you as a ticket number and move onto the next patient and don't follow up with you. read more

Horrible Experience with this Office. When I became Medicare recipient last January 2025. I switched from Kaiser to the Sutter Health Plan. Without any knowledge or referral of Sutter Heath Physician, I randomly picked Dr. Zheng. This is a starting of my nightmare experiences. Since the January, I made three visits. Each and every time, I never got to see Dr. Zheng. Instead, I have met a nurse practitioner named. Alex Y. Liang, NP-C. She was arrogant, inattentive and rude. Among uncountable and continuous disappointments, following are some facts incurred. She never reviewed my medical charts before she comes into a room to see me. I had to remind her of many of my medical conditions and my concerns. Very inattentive and ignorant individual. She also never returns your calls. Only once she returned my call after I made a complaint to Office Manager. She also made inducive efforts to change my diabetic medication from Glipizide to "Rybelsus." I paid zero copayment on Metformin or Glipizide however my co-payment of Rybelsus is $100.00 for monthly supply. Numerous times, she tried so hard to convince me to change my prescription. When I mentioned about the co-payment, she told me that she will call my insurance company to reduce my copayment. What the hack!! This was the only thing that she had shown me a great effort and concern. It was very obvious that she or/and this office gets some kinds of incentives from this new or unknown brand of diabatic medication. I was also told by others that some offices will get kick-back and incentives. Speaking of pharmacy, I made change to my pharmacy location and, had clearly notified this office several times. Even after they prescribed my medication to new pharmacy once, at my following visit made, they send my medication to my old pharmacy. Totally unorganized. I am a recipient of the DMV disable plaid card due to injured right knee. The MRI report indicates a complete radial tear of the posterior horn of the lateral meniscus tear and grade 4 cartilage loss of the lateral compartment. Per Orthoptic Surgeon, I am medically qualified for a permanent disabled plaid card. When I request for a DMV disable card, Alex says that it is her office policy that they only issue the permanent cards after an issuance of two consecutive 6 months temporally cards. I was very amazed and dismayed. Any Physician is authorized to approve the DMV disable card, when the patient's medical condition defines for its necessity. Should not be hindered by the Office Policy. So many accumulative stresses and discomforts, I have finally changed my personal physician. If you are seeking for a new doctor, please DO NOT make a mistake like I have. DO NOT go to this office. It is a nothing but a nightmare. read more

This place may be the end of you. Don't trust them with one of the most important things in life: your health. I've had numerous bad experiences here, but I'll just write about today. I finally got around to switching doctors, but unfortunately it takes a while for the new doctor to switch over, but at least in a month I won't have to fear having to come here anymore. I went in to get a stitch out today. He clearly clipped both ends of my stitch and left the part under the skin still in. I asked him about it, he said: that's just blood. I'm able to grip the "blood" with tweezers, and ended up pulling the stitch out myself. Paid them $15 to once again prove their incompetence. Firmly believe this place is no help to you, and they may actually be more detrimental to your health. read more

Do not even wanna give this doctor a one which is not his fault I should say because his PA was in there instead of him first time patient I changed my Insurance to go here. I told him on the phone that I needed something to take care of the pain because I have kidney stones and rods in my back and neck is fused After I get there. I fill out the paperwork. She has me a paper for me to read at the office rules and stuff now on the paperwork assessed about pain medication I tell her again the reason I'm there is because my primary left and I need my Pain medic renewed the lady in the front told me not to worry about it. Sat there for a while filling out all the paperwork got in the back sat there for a while longer. the PA comes in talk to me for a little while who didn't know nothing about spina bifida patients at all. I had to educate her then she tells me after we're done that there's nothing that they can do because they don't describe pain Medicine After an hour and 35 minutes of my time I left her mad and wonder do I get paid for my hour and a half that you just wasted because you want paid if I cancel within 24 hours, I'm contacting my insurance company both Medicare and Medi-Cal dispute. Any charges that they give me because it was a joke. I can go anywhere and get weighed my measurement took in my height. I don't need someone to sit there and listen to me if I need a psychiatrist I would've went to a psychiatrist, not an MD looking for help with the kidney stones and my back problems. Also, when I went outside, I asked for the manager on the phone. They said the manager was not there asked for who in charge Nobody's in charge at the office is running, but nobody in charge no manager nobody must be nice. My recommendation find a different doctor or you'll be. Sorry you've been worn. I'm also on dialysis three times a week on top of the fact that I've had so many surgeries. I can't even name them all will be going on forever. Then my next move after this review is a contact Medi-Cal and Medicare and tell him not to pay that. read more

I really don't understand why people complained about this place. This is the best doctor i've ever had and he is one of the few that really CARES about his patients. Besides, the front desk and staffs in the office are nice to me and my family. We all understand the clinical staffs' stress and tiredness during covid pandemic and they are just human beings with emotions. A decent person would never accuse on peoples accents and that would be pure RACISM. These who blames the staffs accents should really be reported to the police and get educated. Overall I really enjoy seeing the physicians and staffs in this office. Highly recommend and those who don't have a heart - please feel free to bring your disgraceful heart and mouth somewhere else - I'm sure you'll not be welcomed at any places. read more

If I can rate this place a 0 star, I would 100%!! The front desk lady is super rude and unprofessional. Why did they even hire her? Her accent is so thick and hard to understand. Their customer service was horrible and they didn't take the time to explain us the process. I had my appointment planned for 3 weeks, spoke to the office 6 times prior to my appointment, I showed up, they charged me my copay of $5(not much but for a single mom, every penny counts) after charging me she stated "you have your covid vaccine card?" I said " no. Not once did anyone I spoke to say that I needed it to have him as my doctor." She said "this office has rules. " Then proceeded to kick me out and say wait in your car. I waited 15 minutes to get a call of her asking all the same questions I had just spent an hour filling out online for them. Told her no I am not reanswering the questions, especially over the phone to a stranger.. she kept trying to ask and I repeated myself, saying I had an in person appointment, I do not trust giving my personal health information over the phone to someone I don't know yet. So she hung up on me. I drove home, about 30 minutes away might I add( this office was the only one available when I got insurance so I had to pick it) when I got home she called me back saying that everything so taking so long because I didn't fill out a PHARMACY. I asked why would that hold anything up. She said well if I need medicine they wouldnt know where to go, and I just laughed saying well how do you even know if I need any medicine yet? Why is that so important if you haven't even diagnosed any problems? She ignored me and picked a pharmacy and then again hung up on me. I couldn't even ask her my question before the line was cut. Then the doctor called at first it was a video call, I couldn't hear a word from him so he called me, then we talked for less than 10 minutes. He immediately tried to force birth control without even wanting to know my history or wants.. why I am seeing a family doctor was cause I wanted to get myself ready to have another baby. We talked about the things I needed to get done but he was still pushing the birth control idea so I just tried to move on from that subject, but then at the end I just wanted to talk to him about their rules and I just had a questions, so I started to explain the situation from my point of view of what happened prior to the call. He immediately got defensive and started yelling over me saying "are you mad? Are you mad?! .." then babbled something, I couldn't understand and he hung up on me. Not even an hour later I got a voicemail from his manager trying to talk about the situation. I have nothing but negative reviews of this place. I've dealt with discrimination, but this covid vaccine is making discrimination happen on a bigger scale and to be forced out while having major health concerns was very .. felt like I was less of a human. read more

It's ridiculous that I went there to see doctor they said I have no medical record that the will not see me and I had go there and I have record there before. That's ok, but it's ridiculous when they send you message and ask you go get your flu shot. If you're going make the same mistake that I did in coming to this office despite the poor reviews, make sure you have enough vacation/sick leave and know your insurance coverage like the back of your hand. The front office will tell you that they call your insurance company when they didn't and tell you one thing in one visit and another the next visit. Be prepared for delays in treatments and taking multiple days office and making multiple phone calls to the insurance company, because their front office won't get the billing correct. read more

I went here as a new patient and informed the appt setter of my very detailed concern. upon arrival it was nice clean doctors office the woman who took vitals was very nice as well as the nurse practitioner for the most part. My issue is I came payed my co pay to just be told that that they could not help me at all with the issue and I needed to go somewhere else. My mother-in-law went here today with severe pain in her shoulder. Comparatively with other medical offices, the PA at this office acted less than professional. He behaved rudely and was judgemental, telling my MIL "to stop crying" as she was nusiance. He did not perform a routine assessment of pain: what is the pain level between 1-10, what happened to cause the pain, how long have you had this pain, did not palate the area. A range of motion was performed and he thinks it's arthritis. He wrote a pain med script, but left off the amount to dispense, which caused a great inconvenience when we were at the pharmacy. The receptionist at this office appeared very competent and cordial, was observed to speak both Mandarin and Cantonese. read more
